Not only the Japanese movie, the Hanuman (2005) movie also depicted the epic so beautifully.

The two lead characters "Ram" and "Laxman" shared good chemistry and bond as brothers.The female lead looks pretty in saree and had great chemistry with "Ram". Villians look in the second half was odd.Overall "Main hoon naa" was a fulll on paisa vasool movie

I first read Ramayana, (the book name was Children's Ramayana) when i was in class 5/6.. we had this book in our syllabus.. it was beautifully written by one of the finest and best writers of Bengal, Shri Upendra Kishore Ray Choudhary, grandfather of Shri Satyajit Ray.. that was my first time reading the epic.. the story is so beautiful and mesmerizing and definitely heart touching.. Ramayana taught me many things.. so today when i saw those cheap dialogues from Adipurush, my goodness.. i cant even imagine.. Shree Ram and Mata Sita is always my favourite.. but seeing their beautiful story getting ruined like this broke me :( i also hate how they portrayed Ravana.. i got to know many good things about him from father.. that he was a devotee of lord Shiva, and a great scholar with immense knowledge too.. father once told me that Ravana having 10 heads actually means he has 10 brains of intelligence.. i really don't like how they showed him..
You know once we were watching CZcams and the trailer of adipurish came up.. my mom, knowing nothing about it, just asked me what is this going on I and I told her everything.. just by a glimpse she said this is ramayana? Impossible.. like how can people destroy such an epic.. I think it would be a lot better if they don't release it in the first place.. that would be more respectful to such an epic

Reminds me when we used to stage Shakespeare on stage like Julius Caesar, we never ever changed the dialect of it and its not ever ours. We kept in mind the sentiments of the creators and the culture. Just saying that they are not doing an adaptation for the first time millions of stage enthusiast are doing it on a regular basis.

I am a Muslim guy. I loved the history of Ramayan from my childhood. When I watched the cartoon. I still remember every part of the story. But after hearing everything about this depiction of this great history. It just broke my heart💔. Hanuman is my favourite in Ramayan. But they have destroyed him completely. Om Raut, Prabhas should have done more Justice to this film
The saddest part is even the actor/actress who are casting this movie are themselves not aware of the Ramayan and yet they signed the movie. Earlier the actors were considered as an artists who have brought even a normal scene beautufully for example the old Ramayan or Mahabharat.
True, people had started worshipping their photos as God. And the characters didn't just played their roles, they truly lived it coz they knew the seriousness of sentiments of Hindus and the grandness the epic holds, in the old ramayana serial
Mainstream Bollywood barely has any actual actors left, just stars.
Those are literally looks far more realistic than this VFX movie, even Anime version of Ramayana looks more realistic than this one.

Ram and Sita lived separately during vanwas coz Ram was supposed to be in strict bramacharya , there was no romance or such. It was difficult and hard life even without basic necessities. They would go hungry and weather the elements. That is why we worship them . Being royalty still they accepted it and remained happy. In a condition that would break most people. And always followed their dharam without question even in the face of absolute danger and pain.
Mayor of Kathmandu Balen did a really great thing banning the movie regarding the line "sita is India's daughter" ..indirectly saving people from watching it 😂😂😂

Indian govt banned Japanese Ramayan due to Ram janma bhoomi andolan , VHP did not ask for ban. Legend of Prince Ram was produced as a govt joint venture with Nippon. VHP had some apprehensions but they did not stop or tried to ban the movie

Actually one correction: VHP actually wanted the Japanese Ramayan to be released but the censor board of India banned it under fear of tampering with religious sentiments. VHP actually helped the director Yugo Sato make the movie and gave him a lot of creative input.

Every version reflects the society at the time. This version reflects our current culture so quite accurate. Showbaazy and fakeness. Perfect depiction. The fact that most of the current gen wont even know the true persona of Ravan. They would see Ravan just as depicted in this movie. Typical evil villain. Ravan was much more than that. He was a legend.

After watching ramayana by ramanand sagar I got so immersed. Now seeing how adipurush is created I feel devastated
I watched Adipurush yesterday evening... and my respect for Mani Ratnam increased. Mani Ratnam's adaptation Raavan ( his worst ) though flawed was still way better in terms of visuals, storytelling, music & treatment compared to Adipurush🙏🏻
If the makers wanted a spin on Ramayana.. they could've made a movie on Chadrabati Ramayana.
I recommend watching the Tamil version featuring Vikram as Veeraiya. Phenomenal performance as the Raavana character.

After your review and the review of YBP I had to unsubscribe the YBP, and I felt bad for that because I had always supported both of the channels, this and YBP but now I just can't. ❤❤❤
If one wants to really capture the essence of Ramayan they just need to watch 3 adaptations: the ramanand sagar's ramayan, Jai hanuman serial of 90's and Yugo Sako's adaptation of Ramayan.
All these truly capture the essence of the story, the personality of the characters and the life lessons to be learnt.
Yugo sako did his research for many years traveling back and forth between India and Japan. He was even able to capture the dedicated love of Ram and Sita in one song in the Legend of Prince of Rama.
The current director should have done some deep research for a few months.

The Legend of Prince Ram was our best childhood memories...it shows the best emotions and dreams. It was the best Ramayan I have ever seen.

I kinda knew it will happen the moment I saw that first teaser / trailer. That trailer was anything but Ramayan. Others brushed it off saying people opposing this movie are against religion or something.

The first reaction to the teaser was too true . People couldn't digest their own reaction so found ways to heal . Now they will heal again 😭. We will start healing from tomorrow evening.

To be very honest what I think rn is , a movie like "adipurush" must have been directed by SS Ramajouli or maybe some directors which have atleast the "sense of direction"

Oh that 1990's Ramayana!! What more can I say!! It was my favourite and till today.. I got a crush on Sriram, sorry to say that! But I was a 2nd/3rd grade student at that time(watched it in the 2000's) so amazing, I have even watched the whole cartoon again a few months ago! My Love is this cartoon ❤
