    So after all the use do you thinks it’s a good unit?

    • @theboatgeeks
      @theboatgeeks Před 2 měsíci +1

      Absolutely! We still think it's a great radar for coastal cruising.

    Which wireless backup camera do you use?

      popdesigner01 We have the Logitech Circle. Which isn’t really a “back up” camera. It’s a WiFi security camera we use for backing up. They now make the Circle 2.

    What type of iPad do you need to do all this on.

      We have the DRS4W app running on a 3-year-old iPad Air 9.7" and a newer iPad Pro 10.5" model. It also runs on my wife's old iPhone 4 and my iPhone 6. Works great on all 4 devices (though it will only work on 2 at one time). The TZ iBoat app is only installed on the iPad Pro at this point.

    So, you need to connect the radar unit to the boat's internal wifi network/router to get this accessible on your i-device?

    • @pacificNWboater
      @pacificNWboater  Před 5 lety +1

      No, it creates it's own WiFi signal. And it's a "legacy access" point so you don't have to re-enter the radar's password each time. It's very easy!

    Do you know if other mfg's offer this?

      Raymarine also offers a wireless radar system called Quantum. Beyond that, we're not aware of any others.

    Android too?

    • @pacificNWboater
      @pacificNWboater  Před 5 lety

      Currently not available for Android or Windows phones. One would think they would be in the process of making it work for those, though!

      @@pacificNWboater Just a matter of time... FURUNO equipment has served my marine career well and recommend it highly.

      @@douglaspohl1827 Yes, it's definitely a trusted name. Next we plan on replacing our non-working Furuno autopilot (which is even older than the radar we had!) with a new Furuno unit.
