India ki bhi haalat is mamle koi behtar nahi hai. Only 117 athletes from 150 cr. US (593), France (573), Australia (460), Germany (427), Japan (404), Italy (403), China (388), Spain (382), Great Britain (327) and Canada (318). ALl these countries are lower population than India. Only since Modi ji came into power, things are improving. All these decades nothing for players. Even now, Modi ji maybe great but the ministers and babus are still pathetic people who only think of looting the facilities. Let's forget about Pakistan on such subjects and make things better in our country.
It is just one side of the coin....
The problem is we aren't sending athletes in some sports which have more medals..
Like swimming, track events, fencing, weightlifting etc..
In past 10 years we have only focused on sports in which we were decent such as Shooting, Badminton, Archery, Hockey
Naye sports jinme ham weak hai unme ham nhi bhej rhe hai jaise ki Gymnastics, Judo, Rowing cycling etc.

Agreed. And, we as citizens must also take part in this growth by going to our local Olympic sport events happening around us instead of just attending a single sport. Our participation as spectators will bring in more money and accountability to help grow the Olympic sports here and win more medals for India

1) Sporting culture in the country - Thus you see countries like Nigeria also sending 88 people - South Asia doesn't have sporting culture... of course we don't want govt to pick kids from villages and put them in the sporting schools forcibly but that is something India would have to end up doing if the kid and parents agree...
2) Nominal GDP per capita - More you have disposable income more parents can spend their money on sports and country can provide better facilities.
