  • While in Hawaii I was lucky enough to cross the Big Island's very own, Coconut Joe. He teaches the art of palm fronds weaving at universities and puts together unique souvenirs for tourists. I was lucky enough to have one made and capture some of this beautiful art on camera.

      He seemed like such a nice guy. I wish I could have spent more time with him learning about more traditional Hawaiian crafts. He left a great legacy behind though :)

    I’m cook island we have the same hats where we from, I love being polynesian!! respect to u Hawaiian brother for carrying on our Polynesian culture❤️❤️

    will dry up less than two weeks and is made very low quality

      Of course it will dry up! There's no preventing that. It's not the best quality but I've still got it and it still looks good 4 years later ;)

      It's the best quality actually. He made me my hat when I was 9. I'm 37 now & it's still strong now. Maile & coconut leaves last for a very long time.
