Run time and power are all I look for in a leaf blower. The Ego seems to be powerful but the fact that to Toro gives you an extra 20mins of run time and cost $100 less is why I would choose it over the Ego.

I just got the EGO 765 with 5ah battery for $299 at Home Depot. It also came with an extra 2.5ah battery. This is a beast and easily replaces my Ryobi 18v with almost 3x blowing power.
I have the Ego 765. I had to get the shoulder strap to combat how much force it kicks out. I kept my 1st Gen Milwaukee blower as a backup for light duty tasks because it is much lighter and more comfortable to use. My daughter uses my Milwaukee M12 cleanup blower whenever we are cleaning up leaves
Sheep’s, that model is suppose to included the strap. Mine did, and I got it at Lowe’s, but I am having issues with it cutting off. I will have to warranty it. I’m wi6h You; the M18 Fuel blower is more pleasant to use, but cant touch the EGO. I have the single battery, second Gen M18. I tried the Ryobi model they tested here, and it is a nice unit ( for anyone considering it ) but those 40 Volt batteries are the weak link. They fade fast, and runtime is poor. The Ryobi felt better than the EGO, but at the end of the Day, I needed something that could last the 18-20 minutes I needed for my long driveway! Stay well!
I own the EGO 765. I was attracted by the impressive-looking bullet points, but it is less impressive in actual use. First, ergonomically, it's a mess. For example, just picking it is likely to result in accidental activation. That was my first clue. Along with that, in actual use, the way it is balanced, it wants to point straight down. The actual balance point seems to be in front of the trigger, which makes it impossible to hold it at the balance point.
Removing the nozzle makes it balance a little better, but then it has no guts for moving heavier material like sticks and St Augustine grass runners. And then when trying to do that, one will want use turbo mode, but pushing down on the turbo button while also holding the trigger, while also working to keep the nozzle off of the ground is even more awkward. It would be way better if pulling the trigger all the way was actually full power. I can't think of any reason that it is good to have a separate button.
I tried the included shoulder strap, but it was obviously designed with the same lack of concern, because then one has to constantly fight to keep the blower from tilting over to the side It slips off my shoulder when used on the same side as the blower, and the strap is too short to be used on the opposite shoulder. Useless. FWIW, I improvised a way to lengthen the strap, but it was still pretty terrible. The lack of balance really can't be overstated. I'm a pretty big guy, so if it's awkward for me, then surely it would be even worse for a smaller person. It's hard on the wrist, and it just feels like the kind of stress that could lead to repetitive stress injuries.
Also worth mentioning that EGO does not employ any sort of voltage regulation, so the longer the blower runs, the slower it goes. If that that impressive-sounding 765 CFM is real with a fresh battery, it's certainly not real at any other time. The battery life looks good as a bullet point, but I can't make it though either of the suburban properties that I maintain on a single battery. I was compelled to purchase a second battery, which is when I discovered that the batteries are outrageously expensive. Given the extreme cost, one certainly doesn't want to charge or use the battery when hot, so that pretty much kills the idea of quick charging and swapping batteries back and forth on the fly. If you live in a hot place, like I do, and you're thinking of charging indoors in order to extend the life of the batteries, it may be worth mentioning that the bundled charger has a loud fan.
If someone would like to give this model a try, Id really like to try something else, so I am open to sale or trade offers!
I just bought the Ryobi 550CFM, 120mph 40v blower. I already had the "ExpandIT" trimmer and pole saw attachment. Now, i have a stand alone blower and a second battery.

I have had two Ryobi and a Ryobi weed eater. I am Small Older woman. They have been Wonderful. I have two acres and a big deck and pool. I just alternate batteries. I will have to look at other options. The newer batteries last much longer. 😊
I have the ego 530 for like 4yrs and still works with same 2.5 battery
I personally own the Ego 765 and it gets the job done! It’s comfortable and easy to use and not too heavy to handle for longer duration.

I would be interested in a review of the Yard Force LB G18 GR40v supposedly it has a maximum 230km/h air speed and 550cfm air displacement. Seems a lot for the price but can’t find any reviews for it.

Very nice review. Rob Robilard over at Concord Carpenter said they found that they got more power out of the blowers when the nozzle was removed. Perhaps you could re-test the Ryobi with the nozzle and add the numbers to the comments.
Ive gone back and forth on ‘nozzle on/nozzle off,’ and found I get better performance with the nozzle. This is the standard version, not the ‘fan’ shaped one they were using in this video. Of course, YMMV. Stay well.

Are ppl considering weight coming from a gas blower? I have an echo that just kicked the bucket on me. Borrowed a corded toro blower from my neighbor and was impressed. Are these things heavier than the gas blowers?

My biggest concern with electric cordless blowers are the durability of the batteries. What good is a powerful tool if the batteries lifespan is short, expensive to replace, and much more expensive to operate over the lifespan of the tool than a gas tool? There hasnt been many reviews regarding that aspect of electric cordless tools, and I would love to learn more about all that.
I just finished a 6th season with a Stihl battery blower. The run time hasn’t diminished so far. I expect 10 years out of the battery. Stihl and Toro have some of the best cells in my opinion
The problem with batteries is that you have to care for them to get their entire rated lifetime out of them. That means storing them about half charged, never depleting them fully, keeping them stored in a temp controlled environment, making sure they are cool before charging and before using, and not throwing them around.
I do like these new blowers but the amount of people who don’t know this stuff is what makes these tools often more expensive than gas (not like they already are).
@@davebanach9891 Yeah, that amount of care is maybe too much for someone who doesnt really want to fiddle with all that. Especially when ones already used to the quirks of gas.

@@williambranham6249 I recently got a stihl Bga 86 and it did say when storing over longer periods to keep it between 60 and 80 percent and keep in a temperature controlled environment.

I bought an EGO a year ago and it was fantastic... For the first 2days I had it. It randomly stopped working and even when I charged it it did not want to run at all. I returned it and saw many reviews saying the same issue was happening to them. I decided not to ever buy one again.
Update - Actually, when you use the turbo button,
you are overheating it.
The turbo button might only be for a 30 second usage ?
Then, the blower does work as designed.
A qualified Dealer explained this to me.

Cherry picking stats from turbo and high doesn’t make sense. Use all from the highest available settings including runtime.
For Ego's prices they better be good!
EGO is on the pricier side of the scale but are, in our opinion, worth every penny!

The Ego is great but you will not get that performance with the included battery for any real amount of run time. With one of their larger batteries though it owns all. But the big batteries cost big $$$.
