Poof and Yoda were on the Council for HUNDREDS of years? TF? No wonder the Jedi were stuck in the past. It’s all well and good to have their wisdom, but after a certain amount of time on the board, wouldn’t it be appropriate if they moved into more of an advisory role and give the new blood a chance to get skin in the game?
It’s not really fair some 900 year old crusty guy is on the Council longer than five or so human lifetimes. Never mind any aliens with even shorter lifespans.
Perhaps yet another reason why young Vader was frustrated.
Was the number of members fixed? Or could there be as many (or few) as the Council decided?

I'm sorry, but Anikan Skywalker should've been appointed the rank of Jedi Master. He sure had the skills of one, and may have been brash to a point, but was as wise as the lot of them.
Agree with that but in the films obi-wan said his skills weren’t in question just his maturity, thus why Anakin wasn’t made a master
@@cactus472Yeah, plus really emotional and whiny when he didn’t get what he wanted. And his relationship with Padme didn’t help, especially given his obsessive tendencies - and then getting Padme pregnant certainly wasn’t going to calm his mind from catastrophizing.
But maybe a Jedi Master was appropriate, even despite his age. Granted, Palpatine arranged things such that Anakin was going to succeed, but he was one of the most successful generals during the war. Commanding his forces takes a lot of maturity and leadership, and as far as I know, he was widely respected by his men; Anakin demonstrated he cared for the Clones’ lives - even at the expense of ferrying out civilians. He was obviously fearless, technically talented, and an outstanding tactician.
Shoot, but did he get rejected by the Council before or after the war? Now I can’t remember…
Anyway, yeah, I guess I might see how he could have been bitter…and I don’t even like Anakin; in fact, I can’t stand him, both as the little boy AND the bigger boy. Love Vader, though.
@@ronjon7942 love the points you bring up. Technically him being one of if not the best general wouldn’t help his case for becoming a master. To become a council member they focused more on the actual Jedi teachings which doesn’t encourage violence or war. Anakin got rejected near the end of the war(we see his rejection in revenge of the sith)
There was also Micah Giiett(Plo Koon’s friend and Bultar Swan’s master) and Dooku(yes in the canon he did have a seat on the council)

Since its not mentioned in the movies, I always believed the clone army was created at Palpatine's order and carried out by Dooku posing as Sifo Dyas. How else could Dyas have paid for such a project? Then Dooku had him killed to make it look unlike part of a major plot. Much more interesting and deceitful that way.
Anakin became the only living member of the Council therefor making him Grandmaster by technicality

I think of the three Dooku would make the best Battlemaster. He has previous experience as a lightsaber instructor to a clan of younglings in canon and in legends he had knowledge of all seven forms, instructing General Grievous in all of them. Anakin and Obi-Wan were great but to my knowledge did not possess knowledge of all seven forms
I'm pretty sure Canon wise, Jocasta Nu did not take the holocron listening all the force sensitive children, as in Jedi Fallen Order Jedi Master Eno Cordova was the one who took, and hid the holocron before Cal Kestis destroyed it.

It's still Yoda's fault for the demise of the Jedi imo. As much as we love the idea of the Jedi, having them shun emotion will always be, imo, very stupid. There may not have been a Darth Vader if this rule wasn't a thing. Lastly, Yoda's idea's about the dark force powers were naive. As with any power, its the intent & application of the user that makes anything good or bad. No one would question Mace Windu's "good" alignment yet he wielded both light & dark just fine. Had Yoda been more open to teach rather than hide things, more Jedi (again, imo) may have been as effective/powerful as Obi-Wan. I could be wrong, but this is what I believe. (Blame given to Yoda because he's the eldest)
