The actor for Homelander was so intense. He was terrifying. It felt like he could flip at any moment. He balanced that stereotypical hero vibe vs manic psychopath perfectly.
Watch Banshee
It was even better because he *did* flip at times. 0-100 real quick and the way the actor did it was fucking awesome.
what connor said, watch banshee, antony starr is one of my newest favorite actors, he is damn good
Reminded me of jason bateman
He really was fucking incredible. He had some of the stereotypical good looks that the public would expect but also kind of plastic, like his hair wasnt real so you didnt quite know how to feel about him. Then you could see him smile but the smile never reach his eyes and he creeped me the fuck out. And you felt a sense of power eminating from him. The cast around him also needs to be given props as to how they treated him with a certain level of fear and unease. It was great
"you teach me to outrun cancer" is one of the best lines
A B E L P A I G E A-TRAIN BABY!

Homelander helped me understand why lex Luther and batman are so paranoid about superman..😅
All of a sudden Lex doesnt look like such a bad dude. Doing anything to prepare for the worst
In the comics Lex is not paranoid he is just jealous of Superman but tries to tell himself its for the greater good to kill him but in the end he is just a petty loser that could have save the world anytime he wanted
@@silverdays2909 Don't take it to heart. It's just make believe. 😂
@@AfroGaz71 I did not take to heart I was just saying how Lex really is
@@silverdays2909 that's not how he really is. That's just comic book him. There are also comics where he is a good guy though
The dolphin scene I feel wasn't aiming to be edgy, it's just fucking funny
1995killswitch just the look on the dolphins face got me off gaurd
Just the entire scene caught me off guard 😂
Rhamsody Phage I like that
It felt too childish for me
it happens in the same episode where Homelander and Maive fail to save the innocents in the hijacked plane. It just shows how the superheroes are not trained in tactics like the military
Trailer park keanu reeves is the best reviewer
I’m so happy to have a new name for this man.

Absolutely breathtaking.
Wake the fuck up samurai, we’ve got a city to burn.

Watching Karl Urban kill people with a super baby was one of the best moments of television I have witnessed.
DIABOLICAL
Roger Hernandez this man actually says diabolical like every episode lol
That scene was fucking awesome. Looked like jars of applesauce exploding. This show is fucking outstanding.

How are you going to review this tv show without mentioning that you play one of the supporting cast members, the deep
ahahah even I thought deep looked a lot like critical
My exact thoughts. He looks like if Keanu and the deep had a baby.
You cut his hair and give him blue colored contacts and he would be his doppelgänger.
I was thinking the same thing too
I swear, the first time I saw The Deep, I expected it to come out like "Welcome to the shareholder meeting, this is Cr1TiKaL and I'm specialized in moisture. I wanted to talk about how moist Ms. Stillwell turns when Homelander is around, but not as much as when I catch her flicking the bean to my posters. Today we're gonna talk about this year's revenues. Let's do this shit."
Charlie looks like he represents all the boys
Good!👍!
He kind of looks like The Deep tho.

Homelander's costume is fuckin' awesome. A mix of Superman, Captain America and Judge Dredd. And the plane rescue scene is insane. I loved it.

I love how this isn’t just “what if superheroes weren’t good.” It shows the superheroes as entertainers with a company and a brand behind them. They’re influencers, and it’s a great take on not just superheroes, but celebrities and social media stars as well.
Also, when I see the big company these superheroes work for, I can’t help but think of Google or Amazon. Ironic considering who’s making this show.
that is what makes this show realistic
Wrong. This is a realistic superhero take. If someone had powers they’d think themselves as god and all powerful and do whatever they need to do to protect that idea and image. They would kill, threaten, double deal, and worse to get what they want.
@@acez6756 Damn they would have true freedom and control of their life.
@@acez6756 I don't think it would be that bad in real life but it shows that even superhumans are still at the end of the day humans, they mess up however there would definitely be a few homelanders out there.
Radriar how am I wrong? I agree with you.
In X-men, the director confirmed that they based the quicksilver scene off of that one over the hedge scene with the squirrel when he ate all the sugar.

I loved what they did with Homelander. Every time he got closer to a character, or touched someone, they showed his hands because of how powerful he is. Each time I got uncomfortable too
Every time he laid a hand on somebody, like those scenes with The Deep and A-Train in the meeting room, I thought they were about to get brutalized

Shame that Simon Pegg is too old to play Hughie. That character in the comics was modeled after him.
But I liked the actor that played him
It's cool that he plays the father instead though
How do you know it was modeled after him?
@@bachlava7 The character of Wee Hughie in Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic, The Boys was visually modeled on Simon Pegg.

*”The Seven”* was a better justice league than the actual Justice League from *“Justice League”* .
What do you mean?
Silver days The creators from The Boys got their idea of *The Seven* as being “role models who are secretly sociopaths” very well. *The Justice League (JLA)* from Justice League (2017) had an idea but failed to execute it from the sudden change in directors. The JLA movie was supposed to be grittier, more serious, and well.....actually entertaining/funny when it needs to be! ; To some degree, it really felt like DC was having some kind of identity crisis (maybe having a Marvel director work for DC was an inside job sabotage 🙃 jk).
@@ventii_kun it was not sabotage Zack just does not understand how to write comic character, he can make things look cool I guess and when jose tried to fix it was too far to late

axehead001 this is the best show and same me and my father just did but it was so great
It really is so good.
A good father son bonding experience. I can attest to that.
Dude, this show was incredible. The characters were amazingly well written and portrayed. Homelander was an amazing villain, he was so dark and evil. I could feel his impending presence, and the fear that surrounds his name. I felt the helplessness, the idea that there was no hope in beating him as he was meant to be. Truly a good representation of evil Superman. Heck, there were several moments I found myself wishing Superman himself would just burst through the screen to beat his ass and save the day.
I could feel Butcher's hatred, his rage, towards Homelander for raping his wife and wanting to annihilate all superheroes. It was a good series, excited for season 2!!
