The actor for Homelander was so intense. He was terrifying. It felt like he could flip at any moment. He balanced that stereotypical hero vibe vs manic psychopath perfectly.

He really was fucking incredible. He had some of the stereotypical good looks that the public would expect but also kind of plastic, like his hair wasnt real so you didnt quite know how to feel about him. Then you could see him smile but the smile never reach his eyes and he creeped me the fuck out. And you felt a sense of power eminating from him. The cast around him also needs to be given props as to how they treated him with a certain level of fear and unease. It was great

I love how this isn’t just “what if superheroes weren’t good.” It shows the superheroes as entertainers with a company and a brand behind them. They’re influencers, and it’s a great take on not just superheroes, but celebrities and social media stars as well.

Silver days The creators from The Boys got their idea of *The Seven* as being “role models who are secretly sociopaths” very well. *The Justice League (JLA)* from Justice League (2017) had an idea but failed to execute it from the sudden change in directors. The JLA movie was supposed to be grittier, more serious, and well.....actually entertaining/funny when it needs to be! ; To some degree, it really felt like DC was having some kind of identity crisis (maybe having a Marvel director work for DC was an inside job sabotage 🙃 jk).

Dude, this show was incredible. The characters were amazingly well written and portrayed. Homelander was an amazing villain, he was so dark and evil. I could feel his impending presence, and the fear that surrounds his name. I felt the helplessness, the idea that there was no hope in beating him as he was meant to be. Truly a good representation of evil Superman. Heck, there were several moments I found myself wishing Superman himself would just burst through the screen to beat his ass and save the day.
I could feel Butcher's hatred, his rage, towards Homelander for raping his wife and wanting to annihilate all superheroes. It was a good series, excited for season 2!!
