    Thanks so much for this! I motorized all my shades at our other home that had existing non-motorized corded roller shades when we bought it. Now deciding how to approach the same process from scratch in a second home we just bought. I purchased one corded roller shade so far and since it came with a valence and end cap attached that left me stymied until finding your video.

    Very helpful for this smarthome newbee. I already bought four roller shades but do not know the diameter yet. Will measure them once delivered and then order the right Zemismart motors. Thanks for your clear installation instructions.

    1st... Thanks. Appears to be a simple swap. But you didn't say how these motors are powered. Do you need to dissemble them every time you need to replace a battery? Or do they hook up to a 12V, 110V or solar power source? Maybe the part number of the motorized unit would help. We are building a new house and I am just now exploring the possibility of 12V units, do not want to use 110V... that's getting into a whole new mess there. 12V wires can be run in a wall without adhering to local electrical codes. Again thanks for the video!

      #Frank Garcia - these are rechargeable motors which is why he is careful to place the charging port on the underside of the shade so it will be easy to access every few months when motors need to be recharged.

    Hey, Will this motor work with wider(5 feet wide) blind, as my blind is wider than this motor. Does a blind must need a motor which fits the housing or starts from 1 end and must reach the another end of the blind. Thanks

      @wisegy2002  Před 4 lety +5

      No, the motor does not need to extend the full length of the blind.
      Description on Amazon website recommends the following Maximum shade size:
      Width 98 inch
      Length 236 inch,
      Max weight: 7.7Lbs,

      @@wisegy2002 ..Have seen lot of times that these tubular motors always be inserted from the right side of the housing. As I want to connect the motor with smart switch n gang box of that switch situated left side of the window. Will it work fine if I insert the tubular motor from the left side of the housing? Thanks

    Thanks. How did you know what motor to buy so that it would work with your roller blind?

      Prior to purchasing I removed the end cap from the headrail and measured the inner
      diameter of the tube with calipers, but this can also be done with a
      small ruler. There are sizes on Amazon ranging from 3/4 inch to 2 inches.
      My tube measured just under 1.5 inches thus that is the size I ordered.

    Did you say this works with hunter Douglass blinds and or similar?

    • @wisegy2002
      @wisegy2002  Před 5 lety +1

      My blinds are not Hunter Douglas but are similar to the Hunter Douglas Silhouette.
      If the interior of your roller tube has a
      similar profile and you order the proper size, you should not have
      any issues with the installation and operation.
