This changes every thing, so I can breed a female chikorita ha pokeball with a male friend ball and have a chance to get a friend ball chikorita ha
In addition, the male Poke ball can be transferred along the female's hidden ability. Which means if you breed a male Totodile in a Lure ball, and a female Totodile with hidden ability, you can end up getting a Totodile in a Lure ball with hidden ability. This actually opens up so many possibilities for oddly specific breeding. It will be hard to tell what is legit from non-legit anymore. But to be honest...I don't care! I am picky about what Poke balls I use for my Pokemon, so I welcome this change. Now I want my Safari Ball Politoed with Drizzle.
It's a shame that you can't catch Ditto in a cool pokeball and just have Ditto pass its own ball to whatever offspring you want it to have.
You could do it in earlier games if the other pokemeon is a male. Only reason I keept catching dittoes in fancy balls.

I only like my pokemon to have regular pokeballs, this is going to make things stressful...

I've always thought the regular pokeball's colors go well with... well, very few pokemon. And *sadface* even fewer shinies (but, who's lucky/active enough to have the ones they really want....).
In any case, catching&breeding pokemon in whatever pokeball we prefer lets us have more control, so it's generally a pretty good rule/feature!
I hope it no longer makes you feel like that and you've found an easy way to bypass it :p

Does this breeding eork only with Ditto in Pokeballs? For example will a Ditto in a quick ball breeding with a rockruff in a moon ball produce a rockruff in a moon ball or a rockruff in a quick ball? I hope moon ball because Dittos are hard to catch and to make those work you would need all in pokeballs.
So how would I get a different ball on a starter? Ditto will never pass down it's ball, and you can't catch them. Would I have to go through the long grueling process of breeding with other stuff in the egg group?

Either Pokeball or Premier Ball. Shame I might have to re-catch Beldum though, unfortunately.
Also, Everstone seems to now affect the Pokeball type passed, as I have been breeding a Male Grimer caught in a Pokeball with a Female Grimer caught in a Premier Ball. The male had an Adamant Nature and was holding an Everstone. Every egg was in an ordinary Pokeball.
Everstone only affects what nature and form will be passed down. Example, a Jolly Sandshrew (normal form) will result in a Jolly Sandshrew (normal form) egg. Without the Everstone will result in a random nature Alolan Sandshrew. Breeding two Pokémon of the same species with different Poké Balls is always a 50/50 chance of either ball passing down.

Not exactly the video I wanted, I wanted to know if it’s possible to pass down a Pokeball the male Pokemon was in to the offspring while the female Pokemon had a different Pokeball.
Example to make it easier; A male Ekans with with a Premier Ball and a female Ekans with a different Pokeball, and I do some way of breeding to get the offspring to have the Premier Ball instead of what the mother had.

I don't think there is a spot for us to save so we can soft reset for a shiny starter. It's a really long dialogue before and after choosing a starter. I'm really bummed out about that.
