- I think I've found the worst Terraria weapon... Despite the HUGE amount of time I've played Terraria and my countless weapon reviews, there is still the odd weapon I've ever touched, like todays pick, the Golem Fist. And I have to say, very quickly I can see why I've been avoiding this thing. As it might genuinely be one of the worst weapons in the game for when you can obtain it. I simply can't fathom a use for this thing haha! Enjoy!

They really ought to make it so it can have 2 fists out at once and call it "Golem Fists"
Exactly. Maybe even better, they should make some of those fists (maybe after some fixed time like Vortex Beater) not attached to the weapon and home onto targets and explode on impact. That could help with long range DPS and crowd control, which sucks for this weapon.
It would make it unique if one homed in to enemies and you could control the other
they should just make it a second chain guillotines tbh. maybe have them home in on enemies or something

ok two buff ideas:
1. make it travel faster and pierce enemies
2. make it explode on impact giving it splash damage, also more knockback because thatd be funny
that way it has at least something going on
I have a weirder idea:
Make it able to fire multiple fists like the Chain Guillotines with violent Knockback and speed, make it blast shrapnel like the Stynger on impact.
Stynger buff:
Triple it's fire rate.
Staff of Earth buff:
Make the boulders explode into rocks that also bounce around when they go inert.
Heat Ray buff:
Make it penetrate 7 enemies.
Possessed Hatchet buff:
Make them actively target 3 enemies and only return once 3 targets have been hit.
Ix nay on letting it pierce. 1 of the draws of the weapon is how much it makes close quarters enemies bugger off, giving it piercing screws with enemy s
I think making it a charging weapon to reflect the golem rework while also making the fist explode on contact. Give or take some damage and I think it could be a fun weapon. Maybe not the best, but a charging weapon could warrant a high damage per hit which would be unusual for late game melee.
Giving it pierce is gonna make the damage against single targets a lot worse. The first is gonna go through the enemy rather than hitting the enemy and coming back, lowering the amount of hits per second.
So basically a Solar Eruption that can't past through walls?
930 years of playtime is truly a feat beyond comprehension. I didn't even know Terraria was out that long! Must've been cave paintings in alpha.

I think the "fire 2 fists" is probably a BETTER buff, but I have an idea for a funnier buff. Make the Golem's Fist play rock-paper scissors. Every time it fires out, it cycles between the three, and each "mode" has a different strength. Maybe something like this:
Rock: Explosion on hit
Paper: Super increased knockback
Scissors: Ignore some enemy defense, and maybe the outstretched fingers give it a mild range buff, lol.
Also, is the spirit of offering some more serious buffs, maybe have it pierce 2 enemies or something, and only start returning after it reaches its max distance or hits 3 things on the way out.
The scissors just become the ark of the cosmos lol
Actually I think this is the best of any suggestion. Both for funsies and could actually be fair useful
give scissors +20% damage buff and make it ignore up to 100 defense so it can compete with rocks AOE
In a playthrough I'm doing with my sister who is new to the game, she found the K.O cannon [which surprisingly dropped along with the bananarang] and she really loved it for some reason, maybe she'll find a use for the Golem's Fist later on
the ko cannon has a *boink* while the golem fist doesnt

Dude my sister found the KO cannon and latched onto it for some reason too. When she found out the Golem Fist exists she dropped the KO cannon and refused to switch off the fist until the end of the game. All I can say is good luck and be ready to pick up damage she lacks.

The only memory of this weapon I have is that one time Yrimir used it against the Cultist while wearing molten armor.

I fucking love the golem fist, its my favourite weapon in the game
Its kinda a personal running joke with myself if that makes sense. On my very first playthrough of Terraria many years ago, I was fighting golem for the first time hoping to get the picksaw, the best pickaxe in the game. I ended up being extremley unlucky in this endevour. On my first golem kill he dropped the golem fist, a weapon I tried out and found, like you, to be the worst weapon in the entire game. No picksaw, waste of a power cell. a few kills later, still no picksaw, I get a second golem fist, my first duplicate weapon was the abslolute dogshit one. I grinded this boss further, still not getting a picksaw and they ended up dropping THREE GOLEM FISTS IN A ROW. This is when I saw the truth.
The Golem Fist is simply my destiny. Fate has handed me this weapon so by god I'm gonna use it. I killed Golem using it and it finally dropped the picksaw. Aint that poetic or smth

I like it in one specific situation, although I'm not entirely sure it counts. In Calamity mod, if you use the Luxor's Gift and aim it at a wall at point blank, it makes so many projectiles that it could probably crash a really low-end pc.
I remember i absolutely used to LOVE this weapon especially at point blank range where its super fast
Like the KO cannon and the harpoon gun, its a dopamine dispencer in that regard, doesnt make it a good weapon tough XD
@@fire_bro0638 The actually fun Dopamine Dispenser for me is the Gray Zapinator in a Legendary Mode OOA fight. Or the Sanguine Staff with Firecracker.
In 1.2.4 I loved the Golem Fist, despite it having no use except for pounding my friends into the equivalent of a Crimslime when fighting them. It was just too fun to smash people and send them into the moon...

The Golem fist would do well with a sort of charge feature, maybe making a bigger fist when fully charged and significantly more damage, with some piercing too possibly.
This was my favourite weapon back in 1.2 but that’s probably because I somehow convinced myself it only dropped if you beat golem without destroying his fists and therefore thought it was rare/hard to get

There’s an old Yrimir video where he said the Golem Fist is good for the Lunatic Cultist. I always remember that video whenever I see the weapon, mainly because the weapon is still *that* bad and in reality barely usable against Cultist

The Golem's Fist is a weapon that I want to love. It's so goofy and fun in concept, but it's just bad. Honestly, I would like to see a buff to it that makes it either ignore some enemy armor, or increase its attack speed.

the main reason i like this weapon is just because of nostalgia, when i was a kid and playing on mobile my friend gave this to me early on to fight the wall of flesh and i used it outside of bossfights for most of my playthrough.

It might be weak, but it (and the KO cannon) are SO fun to use. Something about punching with a fist the size of your target is hilarious.
They should have it explode on hit, Dealing an aditional hit to the primary target, And all enemies nearby it.
So double the DPS on single target.

@@iforgotoputausername Possibly. Maybe it has Chlorophyte residue, because that would be easy to get in the Lihzahrd environment, but that wouldn't be so strong. Maybe there's a reaction that causes the strength, like water/wood pulp into Pykrete, which 30ft of Pykrete can block a direct torpedo hit. That information is based on weird British military experiments, like the idea to make an Aircraft Carrier from solid Pykrete, or using Chickens to keep Nuclear Landmines warm.
British ideas are some of the strangest things.
One thing they could do is give it a stacking speed bonus after hitting the same target multiple times. So eventually you just start hitting at incredible speed to make up for its lack of pierce.

You should review Mantis Shrimp Punch from Thorium Mod, it's a way better golem fist (and even better if u have healer)

They could buff the range, make the fist glow orange like we see on Golem and further buff the damage. When at 50% health or lower, it could have double the speed.

Can you review the starlight next? I think it needs a buff since the it's range and damage output are very close to the terra blade but with better piercing at close range.
I could get 3700 dps with a set of melee accessories refoged to warding on the terra blade and 5000 on the starlight.

I've used the golem fist in the past and it's not that bad even pre buffs, it gave a nice sweetspot at mid range similar to other returning weapons like the light discs I really enjoy and it has amazing kb for annoying enemies. It just has really suffered from how op they made the terablade and its entire line.
