Plot twist: every time he releases a live mouse it runs into another trap off camera that kills it.
California avi8tor It could also be possible that the mouse returns to his barn and gets featured in another video
@@streamofconsciousness2982 it's a cameo
U should make a mousetrap gauntlet course in the barn. Like set up all of your traps together and show us a 15 or 30 min video of trap footage
Lee Ludtke Welcome to the The Hunger Games
hahaha
Ok
I'll give you your 50th 👍 for that!
It seems to me that a simpler trigger system would make this trap more practical. Rethreading new trigger strings every time would get old rather quickly. Still, it’s fascinating to see all these variations.
See the notification, click on the video as fast as my fingers can... let the ad run its full two minutes to help out an awesome channel. Thank you for the upload
yourbeekeeper
2 minutes? What was the ad for?
yourbeekeeper your right, Shawn makes more money for videos that we love....Thank you for saying that.
Do CZcams channels only get money if you watch the whole ad?
It's clicking on an ad's link that gets ad revenue. Not watch time
You had ad? it’s already demonized
I’ve been binge watching all your videos and so far I love them all. The idea of your channel is jut amazing, I love l the traps you create and how they work
For a special vid you should set up ALL your mouse traps at once!
Awesome! These videos are great! Keep up the awesome work!
Best channel on CZcams. Keep it up Shawn!
I didn't expect this to work at all! I figured that the mice would be able to push through the strings fairly easily. I guess you could fix that by tying the strings on something like a cheerio in the middle. That way you don't have to rely on them chewing through the string. They would just eat the cheerio, which would release the string tied to it.
Nice video as always Shawn!
Yay! Mouse trap Monday! One of my favorite days! Thanks for being on CZcams! ❤️
Like it! It's simple and works. Thank you Shawn!
This guy is so talented and great at explaining things - I would really like to see some more videos of him building all these traps.
I love your videos, especially the ones with homemade traps. Have you thought about updating old designs with modern measurements, etc. And publishing them in book form?
Good videos keep the good work up
I like your videos Shawn, greetings from Guatemala
5 minute advertisement.....you’re lucky I love your videos man!
Good design. Quick and easy string setup using the slits instead of holes. No false triggers with mice crawling over box and setting off traditional bar or wire triggers,
Congrats on 1M subs!
Thank you so much for making a video about this trap.
You are my no.1 youtuber
Sehr schöne Falle, grüße aus Paderborn :)
Very nice Trap, greedings from Paderborn :) Germany
manuel ch.
Grüße zurück
Habe kein electrisches werkzeug benutzt
Sehr schöne Arbeit. Danke, dass du dieses Video ermöglicht hast. 👍
In all my experimentation with springs etc Id never thought of that.
Good design.
I love your channel ❤
I have two of those here on Costa Rica, they're very old, I think my grandpa made them at some point...
Well, esthetically they're the same but looking closer, the mechanism is different, I would say my gramps did them himself, by his own creativity
Shawn, I'm having problems with mice in the city in live in. What would be the best mouse trap I could order, I don't mind livetrap or deathtrap
Seems like once you know the size of the loop, you could make a bunch to quickly switch out. Since you can just push them into the slots and you dont have to thread the strings. Very cool trap.
Very goodness! Thank you.
Enjoy your videos! 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I like the live traps because my interest in mechanical traps gets indulged without anything having to die, pretty neat.
I would think you could set it up so they dont actually have to chew through the string. They would just force their way between the string causing tension that makes the trigger mechanism go off.
Dilemma on CZcams: all of my favorite CZcamsrs have ads on their videos, but every time the video passes over the yellow ad mark, I never see an ad. Not sure if I should be happy or sad, haha.
Is there a bitterant you can put on the wood to deter them from chewing the wood?
What kind of wire do you use for the cage bars?
You could tie the ends of the string to a Cheerio or a Fruit Loop so the mice wouldn't have to chew through the string to trip the trap! 👍
Im curious to know how they made string back in the day...have you ever considered making a trap completely by using materials and tools that would have been used during that time period?
Omg the mouse from the thumbnail was *soo cute!*
Have you tried combining the Walk the Plank trap with the quicksand?
I used to build these as a Rabbit Box was a kid in North Arkansas back in the 70's and have caught many rabbits as well a a skunk or two and possums to.
The kind we made had trigger stick and hook end to the trap door.
Wiliam Bennett We watch a lot of the same channels. I think you would enjoy my trapping vids. 😉
Hahah the notification I got just says '1870 final', is that the video file name? Lol
Might be interesting to design traps that use Cheerios as triggers. EG with 2 loops of thread through it. When the cheerio breaks, it triggers.
Where did the mouse on top at the end come from? Did the released mouse come back? Or is it a pet mouse?
I've made a couple of versions of these 'string chew' traps. They work best when you smear a LIGHT coat of peanut butter on the string. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your suggestions 👍
Nice vids
was looking at this and was trying to figure out how to use my soon to arrive 3-d printer to make a smaller one.....
The mouse really tried to chew for its freedom! How long does it take for a mouse to crew though a wood cage?
I like your live catches better :)
Shawn: "My pet mice don't like chewing through string." Because they know what happens after that! LOL!
The string type mouse traps are interesting but a hassle as opposed to the spring loaded ones.
I cant believe I saw this video on march 3 when it was published on march 3!!!
It cracks me up how intricate some of these traps are just to catch 1 mouse lol
Mice as always!! Thx
Isn't it Saturday today?? :/
I've hoped you will get two of them.
So I just watching detective pikachu as your ad. And it’s a mouse.😏
Mouse was like, what bruh, this is Mah House I ain't Going!
Who'd have thought it, they started chewing at the string gaps. I suppose use really hard wood.
Only catch one at a time.
This morning I checked one of my traps in the basement and had one.
Those groves are a great idea
It takes me 5 minutes until i have the string placed through all theese tiny holes in the wooden bars
You should try using Honey nut Cheerios as bait. Their sweet, crunchy, and mice could probably smell them too
Gotta catch them all
I'd like to see how many nights before they chew their way out. (Even if they get through the bottom of the trap they would have to lift the trap to escape.)
Oh, I like this one, it's cute, simple & humane :-3
Also maybe if it wasn't wood maybe it'd be more resistant towards being gnawed thru ?
the thumbnail mouse with the sad eyes, damn bro
Whats the best bait for catching mice?
Peanut butter.
the problem w live catch is all the poop you have to deal with
Have you considered the CZcams Union started by the slingshot channel? I feel you guys have a lot of the same concerns
for a second there i thought you said William Batman
Maybe you could just drill holes and thread the string with a needle like some of your other traps and eliminate the grooves so the mice don't have a starting point to chew their way out.
He has fans over seas
Cool!
What are the dimensions?
mousetrap saturday nice
How do u catch a moustrap monday
I recomend you to use magnets on traps with doors
Yay more traps 🙃
Imagine 3 seconds after being let go a hawk swoops down and grabs the baby mouse ... whoah that would be tight
I caught 5 mice with a simple bottle trap.. N im proud now
Here when the vid was named 1870 final
this has become my favorite thing lol
1870 final?
Do a fling trap
I think It’s a better practice to make all traps out of metal for longer use
Use every trap in your barn
I like this.
Why not coat the strings with peanut butter?
Do you limited-edition new movie mouse prison break
YOOO COLUMBIA SC
Cool
If it has ultra instinct it can run out before the door closes though
Lock it up, throw away the key!
Whee notification squad at
How the hell youve put a wild mouse in the top side of the trap without it fleeing for the final picture?
was it a stuffed rodent?
My problem is they crap alot and make so much nasty mess after they're caught. If you are going to be reusing live traps and handling them, do you just let all that nastyness build up? Or do you clean it once in a while. If it's the latter, this kind of trap seems horrible to clean so would it not make sense to implement some sort of " easy clean " design like a pull out tray?
If you used holes to put the string through instead of slots the mice wouldn't have the edge to start gnawing on.
Shawn Woods how do you get your postal address or PO box so I can mail to you
"My mice don't like chewing through string". Elitist, pampered, entitled mice. Make them earn their keep!
Line the inside with glued-on sheet metal. Good design. Simple. Effective. But the wooden construction is its weak spot.
If you used a cherio only then they would not have to eat at the string.
I think I should see a doctor; I like watching Shawn's videos.
Today I received my Dunk a Mouse trap that Shawn featured before.
It's a sickness I tell you ;)
bobkyhummer it's Food Group for me like Harbor Freight and Home Depot! Addicting!
Love the trap! Very humane
If the mice chewed that trap all night and made that damage, that trap is only useful for like maybe 3 mice
