Harry: “hey uhh Luna . . . I wanna talk about what I learned today”
Luna: “not my favorite topic of discussion, ask Hermione”
Harry: Luna, I’ve learned that in order for me to even come close to defeating lord Voldemort somebody has to kill his pet snake”
Luna: “why are you looking at me like that?”
Harry: “you’re the animal expert”
Luna: “So I’m supposed to tell you how to take down an animal I’ve never seen before? Is it a constrictor? Is it venomous? Is it a sharp tail? Is it land-dwelling? Is it aquatic? What does this serpent look like? What kind of teeth?”
Harry: “fangs in the front, and 4 rows of canines in the back”
Luna: “not a very well known combination”
Harry: “it constricts, but it also envenoms”
Luna (looking worried): “okay interesting, does it inject or spit?”
Harry: “I believe it does both”
Luna: “physical traits?”
Harry: “a tail-paddle/tail-spike hybrid that functions as a rattle, a hog-nose”
Luna: “so it can make a warning noise, stab you, swim, and burrow into the ground” (seems nervous)
Harry: “armored scales, facial-pits, frills”
Luna: “Harry this isn’t anything I’ve ever re-”
Harry: “it moves exceptionally fast both in water and on land, round back with a flat belly, it stays underwater for 8 hours at a time, it-“
Luna: “HARRY POTTER!”
(Now they have the attention of the entire great hall)
Harry: “yes Luna Lovegood?”
Luna: “I want to help you, really I do, and I’m very flattered that you consider me the ultimate authority on this subject but the answer to your question is not in my books! I don’t have the information you seek and I don’t think you’ll find anyone who does!”
Harry: “I’m sorry to pressure you, I’ll leave you alone but it is important Luna”
Luna: “I know it is, I have an idea”
Harry: “what is it?”
Luna: “you like smart girls right?”
(Several fan-girls stand up smiling)
Harry: “yeah?”
Luna: “MAKE IT A CONTEST! WINNER GETS A DATE!”
Harry: “NO!”
(Fangirls have approached)
Luna: “quick-tip girls, he likes redheads”
(Several fangirls run off presumably to color their hair)
Harry: “Luna how could you do this to me . . . after I trusted you and *told you* who *my crush* is”
(Luna takes off running with a number of fan-girls close behind)
Harry: “okay, now at least *some of them* will ignore the contest”
