The brand new, updated Alesis Nitro Max electronic drum kit offers beginners, multi-instrumentalists, play-for-fun types and even gigging drummers-who may need a virtually noiseless way to work on their chops-access to more than 440 sounds, 40 kits, onboard learning tools and mesh heads that provide a truly authentic playing experience. But as there’s so much more to the Alesis Nitro Max, we’re thrilled to have drummer, producer, songwriter and podcast creator KlueWorld (Cordae) play through the features and benefits of this versatile electronic kit.
In his gigs with Cordae and other artists, for example, KlueWorld shared that having a library of varied acoustic and electronic sounds at his disposal helps him keep things fresh. So, small wonder the 440 sounds built into the Alesis Nitro Max makes it such an ideal creative partner-and there are even more sonic options when you connect to DAWs and computers via the kit’s USB/MIDI jack.
But you also want to feel great while playing a kit, and the Nitro Max delivers with generously sized, next-generation mesh pads, such as a 10" dual-zone snare, three 8" single-zone toms, a set of three 10" cymbals (hi-hat, crash and ride) and a kick pedal. “The mesh heads are amazing,” says KlueWorld. “The bounce back is incredible.”
The Alesis Nitro Max is also like sitting in an interactive classroom. Bluetooth audio makes it easy to play along with lessons and your favorite songs-and free Melodics drum classes are included. There’s even a mobile device holder so that your educational and entertainment programs are always close at hand. Add 60 built-in play along tracks, as well as a metronome, a recorder and a sequencer, and the Alesis Nitro Max has your back when it comes to learning, playing, and creating. Even better, you can do all of this privately by monitoring everything through headphones-no more getting embarrassed if the household is getting tired of hearing you work through a song for an hour or more. “You can practice and have some fun, and nobody has to hear what’s going on,” says KlueWorld. “It’s just you and the music.”

What do you think of the new Alesis Nitro Max? Let us know in the comments below! 👇
Just bought one. Cheap and horrible
This is not a tutorial. It’s a showcase for this guy to show you how good he is. For crying out loud, show how the drum module actually works. Not just say” look how cool this sound is and play for two minutes. Absolutely horrible video😢
It's amazing how far affordable electronic drums have come.
@fartpooboxohyeah8611hey, got any other recommendations at around the same price? Im looking to get one 2nd hand locally
@fartpooboxohyeah8611welp i cant see my other comment, but any other recommendations?
@fartpooboxohyeah8611 gotta disagree. Those old rubber pads don't feel as natural and the software is pretty much obsolete by today's standards.
Back in the early early 2000's our drummer got an electronic kit. I was SO glad as the keyboard player because the his real kit was deafning. It lasted one week and he went back to his real kit....ugh. The electronic was SO nice. and he sounded great on it!
I use nylon tips as the wood leaves annoying brown marks on the rubber cymbals & hi-hats. 💡
KlueWorld showin’ how it’s done! 🎉
I also wanted to add that after the first review I almost passed on this because the guy only harped on one drum setting. So , I didn't know all the preprogrammed sounds it has... Yes... I definitely am getting this after watching this demonstration - thanks.
Excelent prestariam of the Alesis Nitro Max. We are super tempted to get one! 😍
I just bought the Alesis Nitro Max Kit , and are they ever low no worries i found a Solution I bought 4 Piece's of 15 inches of Aluminum tubes to fit inside of each leg so that i could raise up a bit higher, it works Perfectly. 👍 here are is the inside tube diameter 1 1/4'' each at 15'' inches. also if you want to extend the Cymbal arms a little longer Aluminum outside diameter 3/4''👍
WOW Awesome drum set and review video !!!!!
I love this!! The Best knows what's best!! Calling all drummers & musicians Go Get it 👍💪
This kit sounds amazing, and for the money it's great. Set it up correctly, a few mods to some of the sounds and EQ (3way) and you can build a few great sounding kits or modify the existing ones. I have a Roland TD11KV and you can hear that on the Max, possibly not all the layers are on the samples - probably to save space, but for the price it's great. 👍🏻
Just a few years back, it's weird to think that these would have been quite mid spec/ mid priced kits, not entry level.
Im gonna play the In the Air Tonight drum fill the instant I get this thing set up
Best alesis demo so far.
Glad you enjoyed it! KlueWorld is great! 😃
Looking good, KlueWorld! Well done.
I've always been a guitarist, but lately getting into GarageBand on my Mac/iPad I'm looking to take that next step with my own drums for my tracks. Never purchased a drum set before but at $400 this may be my very first. Fits in my apartment, connects to my GargageBand. Does everything I need. May be buying this soon!
Back in 2000 I bought a Roland TD 8K E kit for around £1800. I used my student loan to buy it. It's been a good practice tool but didn't have many of the features of the Max kit. Just shows how the quality and price have evolved over the years. Drummers have never had it so good!
Can someone help? Can you play the nitro max through a speaker at the same time as listening to it through headphones. The left/right output on the back of the nitro max module to a 3.5mm jack into the speaker and headphones connected to the nitro max module? It won’t work for me 😩
Hello, can I send the drum's own sound output wirelessly to any Bluetooth amplifier using the Bluetooth feature on this kit? Does it only function as a Bluetooth receiver? thanks..
..... Superb
Got mine a few days ago. Does this have a cross stick sound?
Because of this review, I purchased this kit over the Titan 70 from the Guitar Center in San Antonio.
How is it so far ?
I did exactly same thing. My eyes were set on Titan50 and after watching few reviews on this Max I just change my mind and I bought this one. I'm really happy with it, but I don't know how good Titan would've been.
Hi! Does this kit have a choke on the the crash and ride cymbals (not the hi hat). Also, one thing I'm looking for is a kit with a snare that can do the snare head sound, rimshot sound, and side-stick sound all in one drum sound in the module. Thanks! Great video by the way! I'm half way through. Still watching!
Yes, even the previous alesis mesh kit had all those features. The snare is dual zoned, and it does a rim clack or rim shot based on how hard you hit the rim, and what the velocity trigger is set to. The crash cymbal had a choke on it
Oh so Alesis finally learned that it’s easier to play the drum when the rims aren’t in the way?
Haha yes, I returned my nitro because the rims were so bad
Totally - unplayable.
@@IansDrumsandBass In what way , explain?
@@Gordondon My drumming students and I were always hitting the rims as they were too high. Also the module had terrible sounds, this new Nitro Max is another ball game though, I'm so impressed with it that I watched every vdo there was on CZcams, and eventually bought one a few days ago. *Stunning kit*.
The rims have been to high…now still on the snarepad
how to use the choke function
Think I’m going to have to get one after this video.
Don't. It's rubbish. Cheap. Very bad quality. Alesis should be ashamed
What about the rimshot?
For the price it is a great practice kit or hook it to a Daw for better custom sounds.
I see trigger input: Cym2 and Tom4, does that mean we can add 1 additional cymbal and 1 tom?
Yes
So between the Alesis Max and the Simmons 50 which one would you choose ???
Simmons 50 all day , this thing is absolutely trash. I bought it played it for literally two days and I returned it and after I bought a titan 50 and I'm so happy with it. This thing isn't a junk. I literally went to buy 50 but the sales agent at the store, talk me into buying this junk, wasted my two days and the gas of going back-and-forth and all the Installation and reinstation I had to do all over again. This thing is junk man by a 50 and save yourself a lot of headache.
How would this set compare to the NUX DM-210? they are in the similar price range where i am at.
So, BFD is a BFD?
😎👽✌️
My only complain is the cymbals don't sound too realistic. But it's an easy fix by modding better kits tru the computer
I have never heard of any of these people or groups, and I’ve been around a long time🤔
that sux, some of them are big names.
I can clearly see the snare not registering even a single ghost note😞
Good eyes
Damn, i should have waited a few years to get this kit. I have the original and mannnnn…never liked any sounds.😂 I used it with SD3 everytime. THIS one sounds 100 times better.
I love the new max kit sounds awesome but who ever designed the Rack needs to be fired !!! Why didn't you just use the drum key for all the screws instead of that cheap little hex key ????? and charged $429.99 WTH Alesis
Alesis strikes again!!!
The triggering doesn't seem great
I've never liked the cymbal sound on electronic sets.. maybe it's just me
I don't know... I think the Simmons Titan 70 sounds waaaaay better.
It’s 2x the cost.
Be honest: the hinhat sucks as EVER
Sorry but the whole demo looks and sounds dubbed over and fake . In my opinion.
never heard of this dude, or any of the people he played with. must be BS music
You’ve never heard of Coachella or Lalapalooza? You need to get out more…
@@carnagejlu i have but never knew he played there
@@Augfordpdoggienow you have. And what exactly is bs music?
@@radikult1 anything less than Rush
You guys should have hired an actual drummer for the video
trash kit get a roland
Word? You got 2Gs I can borrow then?? Cuz for 400 bucks, it's a steal for a BEGINNER kit as he mentioned.
I just need to get back on a kit in my apartment and have some fun. For the price I’m not complaining!
