Whence back home, during Palm Sunday, Filipino Catholics braid and festoon elaborately cut and braided young coconut fronds called, " Palaspas". They vigorously wave these palaspas high up while the priests in scarlet raiment blesses them with holy water before the Eucharistic liturgies begin.
