    I love these figurines. I have six and one knock off but it's old and belonged to my great grandmother, so I keep it for sentimental value and it's age. They're on display in my living room with German Madame Alexander dolls and German Barbie. I plan on collecting more of them and always pick them up when I see them. Last week I got the Apple Tree Girl at a flea market in Maine.

    In Europe, they sometimes have bottled water in bottles similar to wine bottles.

    Fun video. I recently started collecting the Hummel lit holiday buildings. They're so beautiful and seem to be lesser known these days.

    Hello and thank you for sharing your Hummels with everyone. I just started collecting for my own enjoyment after reading the history. I learned that the date incised on the bottom is when the artist first made that mold and not when it was produced. The slip sat on the shelf perhaps years sometimes.
    The other thing I read, Berta Hummel figurines are indeed real from Thailand. They Are overseen like all Hummels to make sure they follow the strict guidelines before they can be sold. Please don't take me as knowledgeable and please read articles in the Hummel books . I may have misunderstood something I read.Thank you again :-)

    Hey Doug, love the video! My family and I just inherited a pretty big collection of Hummel's from our grandmother. We don't have the space to keep them and would like to sell some to those who can appreciate them more than us. I would love to get in contact and send you some pictures of the collection if you have any interest!

      Hello! Thank you so much for watching! I have about 50 now and I’m stopping there. Lol. I have no room. However, you may want to try to sell them on EBay. I actually purchased a few there. Best of luck to you!

    Hello, I have a question. The hummel I have is an ash tray, "Joyful", On the bottom it has number 33, and a small bee in vee. But I am confused it says Western and next line Germany, all in green letters. Can you tell me anything about this? Thank you.

    • @ivandouglas-happyhealthyli3405
      @ivandouglas-happyhealthyli3405  Před 3 lety

      Hello and thank you for your question. Hum 33: Joyful ashtray was based off of a model by master sculptor Reinhold Unger in 1935. The piece was removed from production in 1984. Your ashtray should be around 3.5” x 6” in size. If it has a TMK-1 trademark on it, it could be worth around $350. TMK 2- $300, TMK-3 $225, TMK-4 $200, TMK 5 and 6 are around $125 according to the book I have. However, the book is around 10 years old now, so if there is a high demand for that piece, it could be worth more. The Western Germany part means West Germany. It was made before Germany became 1 country again. Hope that helps!

    • @ivandouglas-happyhealthyli3405
      @ivandouglas-happyhealthyli3405  Před 3 lety

      Btw. The small bee mark should be a TMK -3. It was also stamped Western Germany. So yours should be worth around $225.

      Please dont take this the wrong way, but as a collector of almost 37 years your pricing is waaaaaaaaay off !! It's literally pennies on the dollar now. Even the rare ones have dropped drastically!! Really nice presentation though. I've always loved them for the art ( thank God), so i'll collect them till i die and have given a ton of them as gifts!! Best of everything!! 😍😃

      @@erniepianezza1170 Thank you for your input. As I stated in the video, my information came from the book I mentioned that is around ten years old. I, too, love them for the art. If you know of a more current pricing guide/book, I’d love to know about it. Thanks for watching.
