etatainments - this song is a meditation on the Word of God - not all people are attracted to this music because many people are repelled by the Word of God and want nothing to do with it. The fact that you are attracted to it and want to listen to this music actually means a lot!! It means God is working in your heart to make you different from other people and turning you towards His light! I Keep leaning into this and start reading the Bible and let Him surprise you with His amazing grace and love for you. I prayed for you just then that Jesus would reveal himself to you in a very real way, so you can begin a personal relationship with Him, and that the next time you watch this music video, it will dawn on you that these words are the true-est things on this earth and the only rock we have to stand on in this constantly shifting world :) Bless you Sister

I remember a time when I had everything together, and my relationship with God was so so good with many people supporting me. Some still are, but others have fallen away/passed away and it feels increasingly harder to open up to the closest ones around me. Even though I know that our works don't matter in salvation, for it automatically comes when you have faith, there's this constant sense of failure and inadequacy in everything I do - I feel like I'm not leading people to Him and people are silently judging me in my church (these feelings intensified exponentially as I became the new drummer on the worship team and in the spotlight). This void/empty feeling that I used to feel before I truly accepted Jesus into my life is slowly returning. I thought it's merely a lack of faith and if I work harder, pray harder, serve more, it would go away. But it was undeniable; all the signs were there. I couldn't believe I have depression, because who could be depressed when you have Jesus and the Holy Spirit in you, right? I've only accepted it recently and haven't told anyone about it, but suspect I will soon. Meanwhile, rediscovering gems like this song is a great reminder that every morning is still worth living for. That He'll eventually break these chains as I'm being strengthened through depression and lead me out of this wasteland. And feel. Like a normal person.
Any of you have or are dealing with depression, I'd love to hear your story. For now, stay blessed.
SakanaCake I know how you feel but this is why it's best to learn how to be alone when on one is around, I know it's hard I been through this but I rather have Jesus then have people who don't care that much about him, and remember it is not you who saves anyone but God whom speaks through us, Jesus Christ told us to preach his gospel, and to tell the story of the prostitute who poured perfume on him and how he made her new again because of her faith and can make anyone new again, and when I say the gospel mean like how Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sin's and how to accept him him into your heart, I usually tell people about him when people are sad and are in need of help like on facebook or here on youtube, and i also found a way to go to church everyday except for Saturdays I go to 2 different churches one is southern baptist and the other's is Apostle but to me it doesn't matter because both churches believe in Jesus Christ and worship him and I have felt the Holy Spirit at the Apostle church as well, but I am a Christian
Hey, I am a Christian Pentecostal myself. Before I knew Christ I used to be depressed and lonely. But man I know how it feels to have a void. I tell you the truth just trust God.Keep on Praying and keep on serving and reading the Holy Bible,(not the Catholic Bible). I rebuke in the Name of Jesus Christ all the feeling of depression and everything else that is affecting you. Brother or sister that is a devil right there trying to attack you and your new faith in Jesus Christ. I say to you to stay strong in the faith. You are set free. Live a life of freedom in Christ. Sometimes loneliness is God's cry for you to spend time with Him. Keep going in the faith. God bless you!!! I will be Praying for you. Just know that God truly loves you and has great plans for your life. But you gotta choose to do them. Do you choose to do that? We are not depressed and lonely anymore. We are set free. And anyways when no one is around, you have Jesus. He would even appear to you if you believe. God bless you

Saint Hood You are too right religion often builds false walls around us from the one who is to be first JESUS. The rest is culture and tradition. Often the white wash for those who can't feel our Savior lift up church and its structures when the truth is WE are the church. Don't let others push their agendas onto your faith sister love God the rest will follow.
It's hard. I just got accepted to be a back up singer in my church's Praise Team. I'm 18 so I'm the youngest and the most opinionated. I feel incredibly unworthy, but at the same time I know that I need this. I'm overflowing with conviction about many different htings because of this. I'd say be strong in your faith, even if everything seems lost.

I feel like its just amazing when you have that moment that you just notice what you have and what the Lord has given to you and you feel this abundance of love that the Lord has for you and then you get the chills because God loves you, and it feels great.

This song, I was lead to this song, after a desperate cry for help when I was struggling with sin. And then I read Romans, and God revealed to me His Word. Jesus had paid it all, he had washed my sin, and covered me in his robe of righteousness. Nothing I can do can make me clean or right before God, it is only through Jesus, who has reconciled us with God. He really is the Way the Truth and the Life. Praise the Lord!

SakanaCake I'm hoping someone in your church has already been made aware of this posting and how you feel. I want to tell you that in a few short weeks I am seventy years old and the same negatives you experience I experience. The reason being that we have both chosen our side, and the prince of darkness really enjoys making you feel small and a failure. I am just coming back to bass after almost 30 years. I see the looks on folks faces assuning that music is the place for the young. I'm also pretty rubbish right now as you can imagin. I hiobble along with my walking stick in one hand and a shopping trolly with my bass in it. Folks just stare!! It's real hard to keep the groove but I wont let that stop me and neither should you. Your in the Victory, but in this posting your not really declaring the victory. So I stand with you and declare it for you and with you in Jesus name. My favorite worship song!
If anyone is reading this and can relate to my story just know that you are not alone. I have gone through years of depression due to bullying for my ADD. I soon developed anxiety disorders, an eating disorder and an addiction to self-harm. I pushed my friends, family and God away. I had trust issues and stopped going to church. My mom found out. I was sent to a therapist and Psychiatrist. We were constantly playing a guessing game with medication. I switched schools and found great, supportive friends. I've gone through years of bullying and self harm, more prescriptions than I can count, and so many lost friends, but would I change any bit of it? Not at all, because of this, I now attend an awesome youth group, have great friends, and have a close relationship with my family. But most of all, I am saved, I am saved by Jesus Christ, the one who died for my sins, the one who died for your sins. I use any opportunity I can get to share my story and try to help others. Even if I only help one person, than I'm happy. God is Great.
