BRAVO Weronika !!! You more than equal the great Rubinstein who's recording I grew up with in College WAY back in 1976. Thanks to you, this music WILL survive the PC/Woke/Equity insanity that is attempting to ERASE ALL of our Western art, music & literature as I write this. As a kid growing up in the 60s in West LA , I vividly remember music students carrying their instruments and wearing t-shirts that said: "BACH & BRAHMS, NOT BOMBS"!!!

Very nice. Congrats to both your professors and the Academy. Very good musical school, although very unknown to us. I hope you survive the 30s (professionally). In eastern europe. As a concert pianist (I must admit I don't know any one such, but we are a small country). I am a scientist (educated in the west). It was disgusting.

Bravo! The soloist (one of best Schumann concerto performances, anyhoo, perfect), the professor (really rare to hear orchestra played professionally), and both pianos are in sinch. Masterclass performance.

Thank you very much for a reply. I burned this on a CD, and found out that the recording is not that great for the normal speakers. It is too quiet and the most of Stainway beautiful sound properties are muted. It sounds much better on computer speakers. I wish you best of luck with a piano carreer in Europe, it would be nice to hear your CDs. Scriabin was really nice too. I really like your style, and hopefully someone important in the recording industry will recognize good music.
I was looking for a good Schumann performance for years. I have Giulini CD, but I don't like that one any more. Argerich and Kissin are not exceptional. I believe Polini from 70s or 80s was good and Serkin or someone else was great, but poor sound quality. This is the best performance (plus really original and nice second movement) I heard so far, but the recording is not suitable for noraml speakers. I hope you record this with an orchestra too. I love 2 piano versions, but I still don't have Schumann concerto on a CD that I like.
Professionally, I really like your phrasing, expressiveness, musical articulation and tempo. There were couple of places where I missed forte a bit. The second movement sounded really original to me, which is very rare. There were a lot of really nice executions I have never heard before. Schumann second movement normally sounds boring, but this time it sounded good. The only bad thing was the last accord in the first movement. Was too short, as if you were in class. Missed a little drama for the final chord. The last chord in the third movement was much better, but still lacked a bit more "drama". I am not a pianist, so I cannot comment on your technique, but Schumann is among more difficult concertos, so your technique is very good certainly. I liked Scriabin Sonata too, it is almost as good as young Pogorelic on a CD (and that was very very good). But noone is as good technically as he is, so you must be very very good compared to other pianists.

I'm learning this concerto with my teacher to play with two pianos. How long did you take to learn this piece (at least the first movement)? Is there any tip you would like to share? Congratulations on your performance, it's outstanding!
Hi David! Thank you very much for your appreciation :) This is one of my favourite piano concertos, definitely! I remember that I learned the first movement quite fast, it took me around 2 weeks to memorise and play it fluently. I was in high school in that time. What can I advise you, not only about this piece but generally about interpretation is, that the music should be played from your heart.

The piano on the orchestra version recording sounded really well and often harmonious (particularly the chords). Do you mind asking if you do Recitals? Or are you still in Academy? And do you play outside Poland?
I play the recitals quite often :) Now mainly in Poland, but I hope that soon will have more opportunities. I graduated Music Academy few years ago.

I don't like the whole cadenza, but best parts are 13:30-13:40, 13:40-13:45 is not bad,13:50-14:05 is ok.

Да, уж! Это, наверное, единственный концерт, который не звучит с аккомпанементом второго фортепиано в качестве оркестра. А в целом - очень недурственно.
I can't listen to Serkin any more (after getting used to two piano version). There are too many "stylistic disagreements" (this happened with Chopin after Pogorelic's CDs as well). But this version can be listened to czcams.com/video/HpTIDxRmDVQ/video.html. It's surprisingly Karajan (don't like him except with Ann-Sophie Mutter) and Zimmerman (don't like him at all), but it was 1982, so I tried. To my great surprise, it is very good, although too much emphasis on classical style (it's a romantic concerto), and the cadenza is terrible. But the rest is fine, in absence of a better recording. Interestingly, it sounds much better on this LP, than on a CD, which is dated also from 1982, but the same thing sounds much worse, even bad. Interestingly, I owned this CD 20 or so years ago and threw it in trash some 10 years ago or so, but this LP version sounds very good (the piano sounds much better).
Forgot to say, apart from the classical execution style, another big problem is lack of those brilliant little things that you put in your performance.
I think this was the best Schumann I found before czcams.com/video/uuZLZsQ3pNk/video.html. But it sounds terrible on loudspeakers. That one was from early 1950s. Untill this one (you and prof. Sanjines) appeared, so 65 years between 2 good Schumann concertos. That is reality of the Schumann concerto. So I really hope you record Schumann concerto one day. Preferably both with 2 pianos and an orchestra.
