@@artificersills Hogwarts Legacy launched as a full game, no plans for live service or DLC. Back in the day we didnt expect anything but bug fixes for a released game. The people expecting new content for free from Warner Bros are delusional.

I have to say I agree with you… The build up to what we actually got and how long it took to reveal didn’t need an announcement… small cosmetics and a photo mode
Yeah & being able to adjust your talent points is kind of handicapped like.. what?
I was just planning on playing through the game 4 different times, once as each house & figured I could play with the different talent points in different play throughs. I thought that was kind of the point? Don’t they want people to play through the game multiple times & be able to get different experiences each time? I liked the fact that you have to choose your talent points wisely cuz you only get a certain amount & you can’t take them back. It added another layer of difficulty & decision making to the game with a bit of balanced consequence. Idk. Maybe they can have that as an option, like difficulty in game mode, hard you shouldn’t be able to change talent points. & You do get to pick almost all of them anyway, I think there are only 4-6 left over by the time you reach max level. So that’s kind of a wack feature to the update. The photo mode will be the coolest thing. & those who get the haunted hogsmeade quest. I play on PS4 so I don’t think I get it 😔 If that’s the case, I’m super disappointed in this update that we waited so long for. They are just trying to push people to get PS5. I want a Switch
@@kimberleyoconnell2213 I'm playing on ps4 and i already had the hogsmeade quest last year, maybe because it's the ps4 pro, but i think you should be able to play it as well
Clearly you all haven’t worked in gaming or software. Releases can take time, especially cross platforms, the photo mode isn’t as simple as a screenshot you can take with your controller, it’s a different function and UI, that allows filters, effects, functions. Those features go on iterations before accepted.
@@trolleymctrollsen I’ve never heard of a marketing campaign taking half a year to reveal a photo mode. Marketing 101 if you’re going to garner hype… and a reveal, make sure it’s equal. Clearly, this was something that needed to be revealed first hand and time to level expectations. They didn’t do that, for example Sonic frontiers birthday update… an event that had something to reveal including photo mode, they cater to the expectations, and didn’t overkilled hype. Here are they had to reveal was a photo mode and cosmetics… this didn’t need to be a mysterious reveal update that started over half a year ago. The product just doesn’t match the marketing here.

I really wish for the companionship option where you have a npc of your choice follow you around etc. It’s said that they deleted it and actually wanted to add it which is sad because you can’t interact with anyone where you finished their quest line anymore...
Sadly they won't include a way to change season+weather in game, being stuck at summer after ending the game is kind of boring...
That's what I'm thinking. I would love the winter vibe all over the map. :')
Maybe weather and time of day will at least be an option in the photo mode? 🤞

@@VergilTheLegendaryDarkSlayer that’s a good idea! Since you can’t actually even use the telescopes at the astronomy tower to look at the stars, let there be a reason to go up there! Would be great to be able to change the weather at will once the story is finished. Would be just like how you can change the ambiance in your room of requirement!
Which sucks especially since there's are season specific things that I had no idea I could fo. Though at least as PC Player there's a mod to sort that out.
I wasn't expecting much, but they also told us that this was going to be a "small update". Photo mode is not a draw for me. I'm rarely, if ever, going to use it. Resetting talent points will be interesting to try, but not a big thing. I'm super happy that everyone gets to play the Hogsmeade quest now - it really is the best quest in the game! I suppose I'm looking forward to a pretty new broom?

Pretty bummed out they made me wait longer than necessary (1 year exclusivity initially) for the quest, just to release something as simple as this... Wasn't expecting a lot either.
I think the only thing that explains the wait is that it took them some extra time to get it working on the older gen consoles. That's the only thing that makes sense, imo.

@@simplyeason you're missing the point. It's about the manner in which the summer update has been communicated. If they just randomly released this as a patch, it would have been fine. But releasing this as a "small thank you" for the fans feels incredibly underwhelming. It would have been better not to release anything at all to be honest. They could have included the photo mode and resetting the talent points from the very beginning. It's really not a big deal. The rest of the items just feel like recycled material. Maybe they've even had these items from the very beginning and some of them, like the Azkaban outfit, just didn't make it into the game because the story changed during development. Either way it just feels like them going "here are some leftovers from 3 years ago. I put em in the microwave for 15 seconds so they might still be a bit cold. Anyway thanks for making us rich and what not. Enjoy your meal."

As a PC player, I’ve been waiting for the Hogsmeade quest for so long so I’ll definitely be doing that. I’ll probably give the photo mode a try too and collect the rest of the free items but besides that, I don’t see going back into the game for more than a couple hours.
I was hoping for a new game+ and re-do quests such as the mini-games. I'm happy about the photo mode, but for PlayStation gamers isn't too much to do 😢.
I am a bit surprised they didn't make Crossed Wands and Summoner's Court permanent. Seems like it would have been an easy add, but maybe they aren't done yet with HL?
Man, I already had low expectations, and they didn't even surpass that, lol. It's just the same game with photo mode and some stuff to play dress up with. Disappointed but it's whatever tbh. This is a patch they could've told us about a week prior, update sounds like an overstatement 💀

As a playstation player my expectations were on the floor for this update because I knew it wasnt going to big and it still ended up being disappointing. Absolutely no reason to play again if you played on playstation.

The shop quest was better than the main story. Had an actual wand boss battle and dungeon feel.
Personally I'm not disappointed. They kept reiterating that its a small update so I already didn't expect anything crazy. Also the devs probably would do something bigger if Warner let them and they want a live service sequel.

@@aaroncarroll2417they'd have to figure out a way to make it work. Just slapping a basic ng+ into the game wouldn't work. Plus Warner immediately put them on the live service sequel so they most likely didn't have the time.
@sebastianearick4488 they had a year and a half to make it work. Some if the spells were mission locked in the base game. Instead of spells, it would be missed loot boxes from the world that the Prof.give you. Or it could have been just balls to the wall NG+ unlocks with enemies that scaled. You want people to keep coming back and NG+ is the way to go. I can't tell you how many games I dropped after beating b/c NG+ wasn't an option then was over the moon when it's released for a game

So basically if you preordered the game on PS5 you have virtually no reason to return.

Funny cause the game was gonna be a xbox exclusive, yet gaystation got the haunted quest, and the pre-order bonuses. So nobody gives shit.
It's better than going a year feeling you bought an incomplete game.
I set the game aside and waited more than a year to have the whole thing. Replayability doesn't seem so good that I would play through the game just to experience haunted Hogsmead,
so I waited until now to start playing it again.
Yes been wanting a photo mode so much and the talent points reset. Gonna start a fresh playthrough once the update is out. Just gotta pick which house to go with as I've done all 4 houses already, might just go with my house of Slytherin again.
Haunted hogsmeade is so great, I played a bit of it on a PS4 of a friend, cannot wait to experience the full thing for myself!!!
I play on ps5 and I am very disappointed in this update. Photo mode while cool for some people, that won't make me play it again. All I wanted was new game +
Yeah, that's kind of what I was expecting from a lot of PlayStation gamers. If you aren't really into photo mode, I get why it wouldn't bring you back.

I was taking sick screenshots back in Halo 3 😂 I spent hours blowing up friendly teammates (campaign) just for funny poses
I'm a PC player, and I've completed the game, I literally been waiting for this update to go back to Play It Again. I think that they'll have more updates. If they don't say that this is the last or only update, then you have to pretty much assume that they are going to have more updates. On top of that, since Hogwarts Legacy too will take some time and developments, I think that they will still be providing service to the first game until they get closer to the release of the 2nd. This pretty much happened with the Planet coaster right before the Planet zoo came out is primarily when they stopped the updates for the planet coaster. That's why I think that's they'll probably do that with this game since it's usually the routine that game developers will do in that type of situation.
I'd love to see them keep adding!
I got a mod that lets you sit down pretty much anywhere. It's nice taking pictures while sitting down in the great hall or the common rooms.
I was hoping for a replay feature, but these do sound cool.
The photo mode will be great, definitely the highlight.
I would of course have been happy about many other things like the ability to change the seasons, new mini-games (wizard chess, quidditch), optional school lessons for more role-playing opportunities or more interactions in the Great Hall and common room... But it was clear that this update wouldn't be anything big. Well, let's hope that these things are included in the second game :)
I was hoping for more hud and difficulty options. On PC I modded out the block indicator halo and the enemy highlight. The highlight takes all the suspense out of the haunted shop quest imo
I usually have a lot of fun with photo modes so I’m happy about that. The Azkaban outfit is neat but I’d want more costumes from the movies, specifically the different styles of uniforms from every movie. Maybe even the trio’s casual clothes too. That way it’s easier to have your character “cosplay” for photo mode. I’d love to re create some iconic scenes with accurate threads.
Photo mode and onyx hippogriff, I’m sold. And I’m glad everyone gets Haunted Hogsmeade. That mission is awesome.
Not sure how I feel about the preorder bonuses being given for free. Though I feel slightly different since the Felix Felcies was a play station exclusive.

That broom looks pretty! If I had already finished the game, idk if this would be enough to draw me back in, but since I haven't I think my curiosity about the broom will have me finish it finally lol. I hope for more content down the line, I feel like they would have mentioned it if this was the last update.
4:53 I think assassins creed Odyssey had a photo mode too, I vaguely remember there being a photo mode in gran turismo 4 but I never used it, I liked how watch dogs 2 gave an actual reason to use their photo mode with the scoutx app activities, the shuffler activities, etc (of course their photo mode isn't really an actual photo mode because theres no way to transfer the in-game photos to your console directly but still) its a neat little thing
Yep, Odyssey had a great photo mode. I was always capturing Kassandra mid-jump off the synchronization points.

Something I want later is an option to change the wand later on especially since you can constantly go back into Ollivanders but you can never do anything in there yet.
This actually really disappointed me, even with my minimal expectations. I genuinely was only hoping for new game+ , and what we get are cosmetics on top of what we already knew we were getting. They literally could have just said that the extra content would be cosmetic in nature without spoiling anything 😅. C'est la vie, I suppose.

As I Switch Player, I think I wont be using the Photo Mode at all 😅
Wished they changed the loading mode in Hogsmeade. It's so annoying to wait for 30s every time you enter or leave a building there. Takes out all the fun of exploring the town

I have noticed collecting animals in your bag is easier you don't have to 2 buttons just one be close enough and boom u got animal , even the flying ones

The Talent Point Adjustment sounds pretty cool, for PC, as I am, THE Quest is amazing and the Felix Felicies potion is a small thing, but an amazing one as well.
6:12 looks to me like the bokeh / blur dots / lens flare effect bottom left are green tinted. Slytherin reference might be that?
Wow on my birthday!! I have been playing it for my 2nd playthrough with a new house. I am planning it to do all 4 houses playthrough. So i love this game.

Pre-ordered on PS5 with Deluxe, so I already had half of that stuff.
The update is kind of as expected, but I would have like some extensions to crosswands or summoners court or arenas.
The other updates are ones that are fairly standard in AAA games nowadays and I don't use them that much in other games.
I will replay at some point, but nothing here is saying to me that I need to jump back on it next week.
Yeah I'm not surprised that it's not a big update...I am surprised they didn't do things like permanent Crossed Wands and/or permanent Summoner's Court.

I have the Playstation version and for some reason I haven't had the haunted hogsmeade store quest at all
I finished the game on ps4 back when it was available, since getting a ps5 this year I’ve played the start with 3 characters in dif houses I still gotta go thru and platinum the game in a new game (lost old saves) so have been waiting for the update incase a new mission was available, doesn’t look super tempting right now, so I’ll be playing stellar blade in the near future instead

Photo mode was a small group most request were karma and being able to hit students with spells and more spells that was the main requests

I think they need to add more hair in the character creation but I also think they need a skip button or something if you’ve already played so you don’t have to go through the beginning every time you make a new house

Strangely now it’s been over a week since the update has come out, I’m on Nintendo switch and I have everything in the update but I don’t have the new hippogriff? I’m right at the end of the game and have highwing, so I don’t know why I didn’t get the onyx one. Any ideas?
Really hope they fix the bug where the game takes away the two unique enemies from the Haunted Hogsmeade quest. My collections screen has been minus 2 enemies and they’re both in that quest and - because you can only play it once - I’ve never been able to get them back.
So glad we are getting the haunted shop quest I hate when these game companies keep certain content for certain systems just release it all to everyone

I got it for PS5 and PC. Only played the pc version. Haven't played it sense launch. I did beat it, but I am going to play it again after this update. Looking forward to it.
4:31, so I only started playing H.L about a week ago, I have ~110 hours logged, and one of the biggest gripes I have with this otherwise beautiful, awesome game is... lack of photo mode (having to go to the menu item below the accessibility icon and turning everything off, only to reset to default thereafter just to take a photo or two is... cumbersome 😴). I really hope this comes - a game as photogenic as this *without* a photo mode is a bit strange haha!
Talent point reset is decent but better idea would be to make 1 wigginweld talent point instead of 2, scrap the extra spell slot ones and just give players that from the start, get rid of the stealth ones since there's no reason for them, like why do you need to buy the ability to run our it being harder to be spotted?... that gives you 7 more and you could just get them all

As a hogwarts person more than gamer, yes I'll definitely be back in more often than I do now just to see how it all looks.
The update I've requested is the ability to use polyjuice potion to become different students, which would allow you to other common rooms/dorms/etc. Maybe users still have to track down and locate the passwords for everywhere. I hate the idea of starting the whole game over just to see different common rooms
im only 1 trophy away from the platinum so im definitely jumping back in june 6th to get that platinum trophy
I'm happy about the Photo mode and the cosmetics are interesting, i know the glasses and the broom will work perfect with a Ravenclaw character. Im glad about bug fixes because im tired of having the scenery load in minutes after im all ready there.
Other than that kinda disappointed but i knew it wasn't going to be massive. Unless they have more stuff to reveal.
I was really hoping for a New Game Plus. I would loved to replay the main story again as my Hufflepuff and Slytherin with Photo Mode the entire time.

I have Hogwarts Legacy on Ps5 (not the delux version) but could never get the Haunted Hogsmeade quest. Will June 6th give it to me?
I was honestly hoping for an automatic flight toggle in the controls, because I just can't get the handle of that stupid broom race against Imelda Reyes or whatever race it was that helped us unlock upgrades for the broom. I'm very disappointed such a mechanic wasn't added, but at least I'll finally get to play the Haunted Hogsmeade quest. Felix Felicis would've been better off just being mentioned if they were just gonna make it unimpressive and largely useless, frankly.
Talent points will be 200G per talent point you are reassigning (Avalanche said this in their own video). The "house" think is a tint, and also you can sit in photos
I replay ocationally but im re starting it just because of what we are getting (the azkabzan outfit, as im a hufflepuff)

I would like to see in the route of a spell that let's u become a animagus so that way we can chose what we transform into so we can be more stealth also I would love to see a dragon as a ride beast
Seeing as I play Hogwarts Legacy on my Switch, these new additions will be most welcome! Especially the resetting of Talent Points option cause I think there are some things I may have or may not have chosen when I should’ve chosen another. Lol!
The Haunted Hogsmeade thing looks good along with the Onyx Hippogriff. The photo mode is also something to look forward to along with the Felix Felicis potion (which as you said was only available for the PC or PSP?).
The only things I’m neutral toward is the Glasses That Lived and the Azkaban Prisoner’s Outfit & Cloak. Those are just cosmetic options that don’t mean too much to me (excluding the former with the nod-out to Harry Potter himself of course).
Overall, this looks pretty good from what I’ve seen so far! Out of 10 points (and considering I’m still enjoying the main story in the game and many other things), I’m gonna give this update an 8/10!
I will be playing it more, because I haven't even beat the entire game yet and really wanted to try the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest (which I don't plan on playing in the Dark), and the photo mode sound fun. i am playing it on the PC, so it will be fun to experience the PS exclusive quest for the first time and I've have played around with photo modes from other video game, like Spider-Man Remastered and Guardians of the galaxy, so it will be fun to see how Hogwarts legacy's photo mode compares to the others.
Looking forward to playing the new quest and the azkaban gear. Completed everything else in the game, got all achievements, opened every chest, and maxed out/upgraded all gear so the potion is useless. Amazing game, it's a shame they haven't released a big expansion for it.

Epic currently has a MEGA sale going on till June 13th and I deliberately got the PC version just to replay after the summer update. I already had the Xbox X version but I'm PC gaming nowadays again and want to have a different experience. I think the developers managed expectations pretty well. They constantly said it was a "LITTLE" update. Fair play, that's what it is. lol
I won't be playing the game again based on this update. For the past few months I've been saying that the update will be underwhelming and unfortunately I was right. Photo mode should have been part of a patch or better yet it should have been part of the game from the very beginning. Resetting talent points is cool, but nothing that would cause me to play again. The broom, glasses etc. nobody asked for. I also honestly can't believe that sitting was not included. It was literally the most requested feature. The "small thank you" feels more like a slap in the face considering how much this game was supported and promoted by fans and content creators. Sorry for venting Retro, but I just can't sugar coat this one. 😂
I haven't played the game in months. There's so much cut content that they could have added what was easier to save them time in the next game, which I won't be buying unless it vastly improves on everything.
PM should have been in from the start. The fact we can't even sleep or sit down really highlights how utterly shallow & absent alot of game elements are when it comes to this game.
1 year & 5/6months of waiting for something significant to add to gameplay like maybe unlimited waves in battle arenas or Permanant crossed wands. & instead it's a bunch of cosmetics the exclusive quest which should have been on all platforms in the firstbplace & a photomode which also should have been in from the start. I suppose PM is something
New spells would have been nice or Reducto, Expulso & Fiendfyre.
Looks like I'll be playing other games. Each to their own though.
Even more of a slap in the face to the ones who preordered. Yeah this pretty much confirms they're over this game... or have been, for some time.
Edit: and who the hell asked for rags from Azkaban for a 15 year old student? 😭😭
@@danimmmmm I agree, the Azkaban clothes make no sense. It would be cool if wearing the clothes would cause the NPCs to try to get you arrested like a survival mode.
@@BLUEnOVA360JR Absolutely. They basically gave us things that an AI tool can create in minutes. It is sad that it feels like the community is not being heard and I am concerned that it will get worse with a live service version where making money is the primary objective and not the players experience or concerns.
@@pete27144 it would even be funny to make that the outfit for end game Sebastian lol... Role playing as an escaped prisoner doing unforgivable curses here and there would be a 10 minute sh*ts and giggles thing, and that's pretty much it.

I mean, but you got enough talent points to do all the really cool spell upgrades. I left out the potion upgrades cause you could literally just make so many by end game anyway.
Hi, do you think it’s a stretch to hope the graphics might improve in the Switch version? I have the Switch version and have been ranting about the graphics.
Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I always wondered if we would get better graphics. This could be big for Switch players. I don't have a major problem with the graphics, but an improvement would be great. Hopefully, this is a minor update for us.
Honestly, I hope this isn’t the last update. I hope there’s more coming and I hope they’re free updates too. That would be nice for all platforms.
