My favourite FLGS! www.ehgaming.com/ - Jak na to + styl
Cool video, except for the stupid talking pupet sections, not a fan of these, maybe I just don't get your sense of humour.
What puppet? You got a time code?
I might have watched a different video, but no puppets on the one I watched either!? Are puppets a reoccurring element in these videos 🤔
@@alexknott1696 nah, king. We’ve got Peachy coming on soon and he’s a muppet. But that’s it.
The guy doing the 3D design was a puppet? Who knew?
I don’t mind the puppet
I did not know that Wayland/Warcradle have in-house injection moulding, that was an interesting tour, thanks!
I didn’t expect to find that either! We just went to shoot resin manufacture!
If Wayland can manufacture this amount of sprues every day, I'd love to see the size of GW's manufacturing capabilities!
Games Workshop has made money hand over fist doing this, it's why they grew so rapidly from the covid bump in recent years. Their only problem was marketing, or why they didn't grow faster.
Just when I thought I couldn’t like Wayland games any more than I already do, Dave goes and drops this!
This channel brings me so much joy, you have no idea
That’s what I’m here for! Thanks for watching bubba!
Pro modelling tip: when you run out and go to refill your Tamiya Extra Thin glue, don't. Save the glass bottle and buy the 750ml bottle of "Tamiya Airbrush Cleaner", it's the same stuff for the same price (you can google that or check the MSDS for yourself, same stuff), but you get 750ml instead of 40ml. Old secret-not-so-secret modeller's trick. Plus you can clean your airbrush if you have one.
It's a good idea to buy the actual glue the first time tho, since it has that handy bottle with the brush in the lid.
shoutout to wayland support staff
Knocked it out of the park with this one. Can see a bright future ahead for Dickensian Wars
I used to play Dystopian wars back in the day. Very cool to see this!
I eagerly await my order of Wayland frozen eats and resin treats. Grand video, Sir. Grand.
Frozen vegan resin!
This might be my favorite of your videos yet. Thanks for showing us how our toys are made.
If you want crazy town for gluing... snag a bottle of the quick setting. Literally hold the pieces together, tap with the brush hold for like 2 seconds, boom, done. Great stuff.
Thanks for the video, so cool to see it all made. Though now I'm curious about this Dystopian Wars 😂
Well well, now we learn that GW isn't the only UK games manufacturer making hard plastic models in house!
Is Tony available for consultancy work? The guy is a genious!
i very much enjoy your content bubba, thank you for doing what ya do.
Thanks Bubba!
I suddenly have a craving for a new wargame, a frozen pizza, and peas. No idea why.
That’s marketing done right!
Absolutely marvellous video. Insight into processes like this in the industry are so interesting and important, I think, for appreciating all the hard work that goes into the models we complain about being too expensive. Thanks Dave!
Those ships look great, I just got hold of one of the starter sets today, look forward to putting it together and playing with them.
Real nice video, always fun to see behind the curtain. Good to hear you're a Tamiya Extra Thin convert. It makes me feel like I know what I'm doing when I assemble even tricky kits! It's great to work with neat and using it to make Spru Goo is another tool for the kit bashing arsenal.
Man those tiny ships tickle my fancy
Distressingly satisfying aren’t they? I need more
I am a little concerned that Wayland may no longer has a toilet that flushes :(
Daz is right about the DW models and their scale. You can go into some insane detailing and texturing on them if you want... but even if you want to keep things nice and simple, they'll still look great!
I'm really enjoying this series, it's so interesting with behind the scenes content of our hobby industry! Can't wait to see the next part with resin casting! 🤩
Great to have more of your content back have missed your videos
Awesome video, keep the chill vibes rolling Dave.
Daz's wisdom stays with you for decades :)
Great video, amazing close up shots of the machinery and the sprues! always a pleasure to see a new video from this channel!
These guys are killing it!! I don’t have friends and these guys got themselves SUPER BEST friends!!
What a refreshing change of vid . Been a hobbyist 49 years am a actually learned a lot here, loved the board meeting 😂
my god, it's beautiful 🙂
Thanks mate! ❤️🐸
So interesting! Thanks for the video. Looking forward to more in this series 🙏❤️
Love it. Especially the shared joy during the filming of the Tony skits
Those board room guys couldn’t look happier!
@@MSPaints 😂
thank you for these videos. really mean it man.
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching
Great to see how this process works, thank you for another great video.
Great video (as always) and very interesting to see how these plastic minis are made
After all these years, I finally get to see how the sausage is made. Bravo, fantastic video, I can't convey how interesting and entertaining I found this.
You're a rockstar, dude! Thanks for the awesome video!
Another great video and a very insightful look at stuff that most hobbyists don't think about.
Played dystopian wars when it first came out and really enjoyed it. Might need to give it another go
An interesting and informative break from the norm - I love it.
A great insight into how figures are made.
Another brilliant video. The shot looking down through all the sprues was so cool.
A really cool paint job too Dave.
Thanks Adam! Much appreciated!
This is an absolutely top tier hobby channel. Keep up the phenomenal work my guy! Love from Canada!
Cool Video, btw, EMA Model Supplies Plastic Weld is even better
What a great and novel video. Thank you for a fun trip!
Thisbwas great, i love production factory tours!
Awesome,thank you!
Will never look at another kit the same way!! Fantastic vid my man!
👍🏼👍🏼👌
Great as always
I've wanted a video that explains this process at warcradle for ages!
Great channel! Enjoying your videos, very well edited
The photography on this video is mental.
Thanks mate! Mostly thanks to my man Mikkerz doing a good load of shooting.
@@MSPaints The macro footage of the stacked sprues is very cool.
Great video mate!
Man, I love these documentary style videos.
Extremely interesting! And it certainly helps explain why our hobby is so expensive. All that labor and it all needs to be covered by a small audience.
Great video Dave! Extra points for the Homeland novel!
Excellent vid mate, really interesting 😃👍
Amazing as always. Plus , I'm the lad ya met in Leeds! Good to see you cracking out gold as always !
Cheers mate! And was nice to meet you!
Fascinating stuff. 😎
God I love these informative videos. Great format. Has it all.
The mold flow test is awesome but even so I'd feel like taking a leap of faith doing the plate directly for production.
I freaking love your videos and the behind the scenes stuff is just magical, keep it up man.
Thanks maaaaaaaate!
Love these sort of videos
You are the spitting image of my wife's deceased father. I bet that's the oddest comment you ever had but it's actually true.
It’s definitely in the top 5! He musta been some handsome.
Superb video pal. From content to production. I really wish my gang would revisit Dystopian Wars. The setting and the minis are amazing and your paintjob did them justice. Thanks for sharing.
This is such a fantastic video and story, say awesome.
This is fascinating
You make very good videos. Respect
LOVE IT!
Love seeing those Dystopian Wars models, I am definitely going to have to invest in some models. Love that seascape mat as well
Educational and entertaining…bravo sir, bravo…👍
Love this series Dave - really interesting and thanks for pulling back that curtain on the industry.
Tony the Dragon - love it
Cheers mate! Yeaaaaaah it’s been good so far. Gonna have a breather before we get to work on the resin miniatures video! That one is a mooooooonster!
@@MSPaints looking forward to it mate 👍
Very cool
Super intersting video. I love how their sprues can stack, I wish GW would do that. So tempted to try dystopian wars out. The ship designs are fantastic
Didn't know Wayland makes their own stuff, I used to order from them before Brexit and having to pay extra VAT and import fees. Well, I only buy vintage models nowadays anyway.
Cool video, thanks!
I have to say there's nothing better than the colorful euphemisms (metaphors if you're Mr.Spock) of the Mother Tongue.
You should check out their game Wild West Exodus too. That's really fun and the minis are lovely
always a pleasure watching your stories, you're ace-pants for sure.
It seems so weird that I'm only seeing a video documentary like this now about the wargaming miniature casting process for plastics. Now I think about it I'm pretty sure I've never seen a video like this about the lead or tin minis casting process. 😊🤔😮
I worked like printer in standart print factory for paper marketikg, book making and more marketing things, but this looks fantastic
Amazing video!!! Thanks so much for making this - was litterally thinking the other day i wonder how plastic sprues are made.
The part with the steel plated machine ramming together, separating and then out popped a perfect sprue was like magic!
Agreed, wayland games are just amazing - how can you beat best prices, great customer service and free delivery over £20?!
Note - hoping they always keep that free delivery over £20 - that's their competitive edge imho.
They’re some real hobby heroes. Was great to meet the team and put some faces to the business!
Dave is alive.
Great video! Lovely models! Where is that amazing battlemat from?
From GW’s Dreadfleet! Great little box set and it’s cheap to pick up sealed on eBay
Nothing on the awesome usage of Shoji Meguro's Digital Devil Saga soundtrack? ARE WE NERDS OR NOT?!
Dude this is so fucking cool!
Cheers!
Im going dave mode
You earned my sub IMMEDIATELY by using DDS music.
Yeah boi! Would love to see Tony go on dragons den!
Hoped to see more detail about how miniatures done. I though after machining steel/aluminum plates they are polished or something by hand.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Tamiya Extra Thin! 👍
got to say im impressed not even CGL does in house manufacturing
Ironically I might buy some dystopian wars stuff to scale with none other than what the guy painted was talking about, my Godzilla figures
Ooooooh! They do make a flying sky drill like Atragon!
@@MSPaints i had to look that up, I know it more by the name gotengo
that's what we need, kaiju vs navies. Now that would be a great mod.
Dude, thnx for the video!
Guys, who have recognized soft of the designer (2:37) and the engineer (5:50)?
Nice
Tony D. is the textbook definition of an "ideas guy". 😆
Honestly I don’t think I could work there as I would just want to take everything home
Yeah we tried filling a bag on the way out but they clocked us
2 to 8 weeks to carve a mold ? Damn that's a lot longer than I expected !
It can be quicker if they use aluminium, and therefore cheaper. However the moulds will then last a much shorter time compared with hardened steel.
Typically you can expect 25-30 years from those moulds, maybe longer (in the plastic scale modelling hobby there are still kits being sold based on 1950s and 1960s tooling, of course technology has marched on since, but with careful use they can last longer than most wargaming companies have existed).
that graphics tablet pen holder arm thing makes me think your arm would get tired holding it up so long
I dunno how he does it tbh
Cool.
Poor Tony, it’s like 4 angry men!
i am really looking forward to order my pizza and peas together with some models
I never knew about Dystopian wars. Ima check it out.
