When driving drunk in a construction zone takes a turn for the worse

- On August 11, 2023, officers in Wisconsin are dispatched to investigate a crash that has occurred in a construction zone on a residential rode. Upon arriving, officers notice a female sitting down in the middle of a construction zone. Driver is immediately irritated and combative as the responding officer asks how she manages to get through multiple barricades and onto the construction site. Officers immediately notice that the driver's car is hanging off the side of an embankment with a car seat in the car. Officers ask driver whether kids were in the car. Driver states that there was. Officers ask for more specificity about the children being the car. Driver continues to be combative.
Responding officer notices an odor of alcohol coming from driver. Officer asks if driver has been drinking. Driver denies that she has consumed alcohol. Driver continues to be combative towards officer and not responsive regarding whether or not children were in vehicle at the time of accident. Officers then detain driver and driver resists by kicking, threatening and spitting on officers. Driver is then placed under arrest and placed in restraints until fire and rescue arrive.
Driver continues to spit and threaten fire and rescue in the ambulance and in the hospital, resulting in more charges pressed against driver.
Officers continue to search for potential missing children who may have left the vehicle at the time of accident. Their initial calls to the addresses provided by the driver's identification do not locate the children. Eventually the sheriff's office is able to locate the children by contacting a family member.
Driver is charged with 13 counts
1 count - misdemeanor - DUI
2 counts - misdemeanor - Resisting an Officer
4 counts - felony - battery of threat to law enforcement officer
5 counts - felony - throw/discharge bodily fluid at public safety worker
1 count - felony - bodily harm of threat to health care provider
Driver is ultimately found guilty on 3 counts
- Misdemeanor - DUI
- Felony - battery or threat to law enforcement officer
- Felony - Throw/discharge bodily fluid at public safety worker

I could not be a police officer because her face would have been in that dirt so hard she probably would have lost some teeth after she spit at me. So even though I have not always done the right things in life I have always given the cops the respect that they deserve because my screw-ups are not their fault! They have a job to do and as long as they treat me with respect I've always given it back. Even when I haven't been treated with respect I'm still giving it back. And I had two white country sheriff's from the backwoods of Pennsylvania that treated me like crap but their boss Mike was a wonderful man! You were ripped out of the car, spun around, slammed up against the car and if you were a real jerk, face planted on the grass or pavement and cuffed and stuff into the cruiser. I was 60 and I got a guy who was a total jerk! My back light was out was the only reason I was stopped. I was of course respectful! When the cop left the room I giggled. His partner asked what was funny. I said I would be out in an hour but he was still stuck with the bad egg as a partner. He laughed too.
