  • Welcome to my channel! 💖私のチャンネルへようこそ!
In this video, we attend a private Japanese tea ceremony, where the tea master prepares matcha the traditional way. Japanese tea ceremony (known as 'sado' 茶道) is an ancient and respected part of traditional Japanese culture.
The ceremony was so calming, delicate and beautiful, it made me fall in love with Japan all over again! Mari-san did a wonderful job and taught me so much, even how to do it myself!! If you are (ever) in Tokyo, I STRONGLY recommend booking a private ceremony with her.

@@alidesu1 I don’t know how you stayed awake while doing this haha. I was on a work trip pre COVID to Tokyo, at a company’s head office they did a tea ceremony for us, I watched the lady do it, I fell into some crazy trance and fell off my chair, in this huge conference room around a table full of Japanese execs. I had to blame it on jet lag. Bit embarrassing!

Japanese tea ceremony, otherwise known as 'sado', was one of the most relaxing, soothing experiences. It really captures the Japanese attitude; to do all tasks to your best, to focus on the detail and appreciate each movement, action and implement.
Mari san was such a good teacher and guide, who made my first sado experience truly exceptional.
