Oh I wish I could send my Dad's Guernsey steer & donkey to you! We've been looking for a sanctuary for them & you would love them 🙂 Our Dad had them as pets & he passed away suddenly back in April (he was 93). Sadly we are across the pond ... fingers crossed we find the right home!

Very interesting about the pigs and bees. I have several lemon trees and the first years the trees give little fruit. Perhaps trim the fauna around the tree and prune the tree.
After your manic time getting the barn ready to use you deserve a well earned break and just enjoy the area especially as it’s the hot time of the year. Relax and enjoy the family time together.
Parents have babies to play with again 😂 The forest, river and waterfall looks incredible ! Pick one or two hidden spots for a table and chair ... so beautiful to sit under a canopy of trees and ferns ❤

So cute….one question we have is…are these piglets eventually going to be feeding your family in a year or two? Are the piglets all brothers and sisters? Beautiful forest…can’t wait to see you adding chickens to the mix. You’re family is so precious. We love watching you guys. In regards to your lemon tree, it needs good soil amendment to produce more lemons as they are heavy feeders I give mine a fertilizer that says 6-6-6 ideal NPK ratio. We also add a 75:25 ratio of grass clippings or leaves and add eggshells or bone meal and banana and orange peels, coffee grounds and put it beside the tree but not too close to the bark. Also if you do prune, you can start a new lemon tree with the cutting :). Big hugs from Chile ❤
If you tune into Project Portugal the often run the fencing thru the woodlands to clean out the undergrowth. Some thought when your pigs get a bit older. They are so cute at this age. Love watching all your comings and goings.😍

I saw a cute video of piglets playing with a big rubber ball and we’re having the best time. Your kids would enjoy playing ball with them, you too lol❤
Replace zip ties with metal wire, the plastic degrades and breaks easily in short time outdoors(heat/sun). Brilliant job on pen and cute piggies. Plans for when they grow huge?
It was the Hollar homestead. He moves them around the property, because they eat eveything in site and need new ground to eat.. If you have land that could use a good clean up from weeds and over growth they will clean it up for you.
White suits and smokers are for commercial keepers in a hurry. I kept a top bar hive and serviced it with a simple hat and veil. If you are gentle, don't eat bananas on the day, and are careful not to crush a single bee, you should co-exist nicely. I was never stung. Respect them.

We have potbellies and trained them with an electric fence single line inside the net. As they grow the view of the orange line keeps them inside and away from the veggie garden. We now fence single line no energizer around the cultivated areas, and they literaly don't cross the line. pigs have the rest to roam around. Just an idea. They WILL break any physical barrier you try to use to lock them inside.
Badger, I really love ur new helpers they are so darn cute and so curious! The bees wow there are so many beautiful flowers to feed them! I sure hope they survive!! Good luck! Tara hired a bee man she may have some ideas but it looks like u know what ur doing!! 🐝🐝🐝🐝🙀🙀

I have to admit, I was kinda laughing watching you with all your piggy excitement. Only because I grew up on a farm with pigs .I have MANY memories of chasing the pigs home, they are ESCAPE ARTISTS. It became a neighborhood continual event. Until my my Mom said, "that's it!!! no more pigs" ha ha, Great memories, thanks. I am 70 and still have such great childhood memories of being with the pigs.
Your piggies are adorable and loving. They really behave like dogs. My daughter has a farm and she bought supposedly a piggy few years ago that wasn't going to get big and now he weighs about 300 lbs. He is massive! Lol
Piggies are a delight but I’m bowled over by your native forest!! What an amazing place! How much land do you have? I finally - after 15 years - have something close to this on my 2ha in the Serra do Açor but still have the pine monoculture (which all burned in 2017) to convert. (While my neighbour’s land is covered in eucalyptus … but we won’t get into that …) It seems to be a lot less messed with where you are further north.
Loved this video-I couldn't care less if you never built the stone house (kidding) but just hung out in the forest with Pudding while he swims and hangs with the pigs!! They are super sweet!

Lemon trees need a lot of feeding with citrus fertilizer. Your lemon trees are beautiful.

Prune & give fertiliser lemons next year
Yes your lemon trees need a good thinning-out and pruning. Maybe some good compost 😊

Kone pigs love to graze on grasses. When school is out the kids can bring the grasses you have to keep trimmed.

Lemon trees are between 3 and 6 years old before they produce fruit.
