Ya'll know what's really sad? If this was done today, there wouldn't be many male vocalists with this level of raw talent to fill that same room.
What's really sad is when Bruno Mars & Justin Timberlake remake this for $$$🙄
Thats very true and unfortunate!
Yeah you are right only a good 10 artist I can think to recreate this beautiful song.

@@louiscyfear878 I know right, there is so many reasons they can do this song for a cause, yeah most of these artist will just care about the money first.
29 years later and it still tugs at my heart today. I’m so glad these brothers came together for this historic project. Sadly I don’t think we’ll ever get something like this again.
Never say Never. Always be OPTIMISTIC.

The amount of vocal talent in that one room is mind boggling
Yes, yesssss!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not just vocals. Every one of them were also songwriters and most could play instruments, too. Real musicians. 👍🏽
So Legendary,truly.
Im from this era the 90s I miss alot!!! This singing was was normal back then, It was different time where brothas young and old had to bring they chops with no auto tune. The reason its mind bogging cause not a lot male singers are hitting these notes today or doing harmonious music together. It's a me myself and I era today.. @@Incognitoking7: Tragically . . . .you are correct. Thankfully though, there is CZcams available.I come here quite often.
Something about that just makes me mad! We know it’s relevant, we know how the movie was relevant, but it seems irrelevant that black men united, aka, Black Lives Matter, scares the heck out of Amerika! This was a optimistic version of Childish Gambinos portrayal of the current affairs, at the time! Absolutely relevant!
@@trukenyan Black men united is totally different from BLM lets be clear!!!!!!! Im from that 90s era men were Totally different those days. Don't confuse the two. Im more about brothas fixing them self first b4 fixing police issues.. as Black men we need to be there for our children our families we need to fix home first b4 we fix the things around us thats the problem with BLM. This beautiful song isn't about police brutality. It's uplifting black men to do better and stay on your plan. A Plan of righteousness!
OMG Tevin, Stokley, Joe, Brian, Aaron, D'Angelo...and that's just a few. So much talent. Singers were singers. No mumbling, no bullshit inflections that sound like you've had a stroke, no autotune, just talent. Listen to Brian McKnight's runs in this song - pitch perfect, clean, and lightning fast. This song needs to be rereleased. Being a black man, I feel like we are targeted and if you're not strong enough, you will fall.
Me too my brotha, we have been targeted! I don't what we are going to do it's hard out there especially the fact that we don't have anything positive representing a good black man in the media not unless he is wearing a dress, a skirt or being gay (just saying).
You're exactly right. Hopefully this will pass over us real soon. Because right now, as a whole, we're lost.
Brian Moore
You know there are thousands of good black men who don't get involved in the media. It bugs me trying to figure out why they won't come out positively, but oh well. Maybe people should stop caring about what the media portrays cuz it's just media (superficial b/s). Go research the Lunda, Luba, Kuba, Kongo, and Igbo or something(especially by Pinterest for pics). Go get to know black roots.
Aaron Smith Bruh, that's real talk we as blackmen have become to comfortable in society now bc we have been given alil more than our ancestors...alil more freedom, alil more money, alil more Fortune and many have forgotten about the struggle but the struggle isn't over we are still in a heavyweight fight against society and the lyrics are so true..."your dreams ain't easy!" But "we will know!" One day by and by..."we will know!"
Aaron Smith i love this song.

I think it's the joy of seeing so many black men united (as the group's name suggests), happy and being positive. This song is very special to me. Oh my god that transition from R. Kelly to Joe to Aaron Hall....lord have mercy please that almost killed me.
This song just about killed me, so many talented young black men in one song! Just think about how surprised I was when I was 15 when this song came out......in absolute awe!
Brian McKnight did awesome as well
+LaTonya C I was thinking the same 😊
Yeah they all did, especially R Kelly, Gerald Levert (rip), and Tevin Campbell

Now this is real music wish we had these type of voices and powerful messages today.
