You know the coven leaders have something ironic to them rain the bard coven leader has stage fright, Darius the abomination coven leader hates getting dirty, and eberwolf the beast coven head is and actually beast, I wonder the others will have something ironic to them as well
Not to mention, the last head of the Emperor's Coven betrayed Belos, and it looks like the new one is on his way to do so too.

@Balance of The hill - Gus would obviously go against the head of the illusion coven (likely with the Blight twins as backup), Willow with the head of the plant coven, Amity’s mom would likely fight the head of the oracle coven out of “no one controls me” thing, Eda’s mom might fight the head of the beast coven since she’s part of it and I have no idea with the other heads that isn’t Raine.

Bard magic is SO much cooler than I would have thought. I only hope we get to see more of what the other covens can do this season, because we've learned a lot about them lately and they all kick ass honestly.
''because we've learned a lot about them lately and they all kick ass honestly.'' new favourite quote.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the Coven heads are going to wind up being betrayed and sacrificed for Belos' Day of Unity plan. It may be that everyone with a Coven seal will be similarly immobilized and used as a magic battery. I just get Fullmetal Alchemist-Eclipse vibes out of the whole plan.
There's a trope in sci-fi/fantasy where there are two worlds parallel to each other and so many years go by and the worlds come as close as possible and someone tries to be bring them together I believe the day of unity is this

Let's just address that this is the first time in Disney history we got our very first non-binary Disney character in Raine, which in Disney's near 100 year history we did not had any characters that were Non-Binary until now.
On top of that, I'm grateful that they didn't pull another "Bria" on Raine cause I like Raine as a character and unlike Bria, Raine didn't betray Eda in this episode especially when they sacrifice themselves to protect Eda.
I do hope we get to see more of Raine in later episodes of Season 2.

I have a couple of theories on what's happening.
1. When Eda said that the sigils cut off the rest of a person's magic and only let them do one kind, where does the rest of the magic go? I think the excess of magic that isnt being used is being sent somewhere else through the sigil that Belos controls.
2. I think Belos tried to gain magic through other means but failed which is why he doesn't want to talk about it. The the episode "Hunting Palesmens" the form he took looked like a combination of plant, abomination and beast magic. If he's a parallel of Eda that means that he cursed himself using wild magic and it backfired.
Plus the techno circuitry veins when applied were clearly a sign a Coven Sigil wasn't on the up-and-up.
"The Owl House" has always been great, but it's recently been getting even better!

Personal theory: I think the reason why Darius can turn into an abomination is because he's just an abomination of his orginal self. Maybe the real Darius is just having his "me time" somewhere while his abomination pretends to be him in a mission. This could be possible for a powerful witch such as him. I feel like Darius's personality is meant to parallel Amity in her early appearances, the first abomination witch we see. Haughty, arrogant, and completely self absorbed. Likely as a foil to her, where she choses to grow as a person and become more than that, he won't see anything wrong with his behavior and will doom everyone else to have to deal with his personality. I LOVE him.
I feel like the guy we saw is most likely not King's dad, as it can be assumed that King's dad died fighting the Titan (that "my son" roar King heard as it baby gave me last words vibes). Not to mention, as was brought up in the video, King's dad is most likely dozens of times larger than the demon seen near the end of the episode as he stood past the Titan's chest (albeit while the Titan was sitting but that's still pretty large).
Darius: is self absorbed
Me: Look at him! He has a good reason to be!
Raine: they're really cool
Everwolf: a very good boy
Is the one with Darius a pun? :o

I totally ship Eda and Raine, they were adorable!!!
this is my new favorite episode
i absolutely love Raine
Their character is so good
If you've ever played Dungeons & Dragons in the past, you'd already know just how powerful Bards actually are.
Makes me wonder if Raine or their fellow BATTS should've had a spell like Critical Mockery on hand. For those wondering, the spell makes every word you say feel like you're getting punched in the face or stabbed. It utterly destroys the old rhyme of "sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me"
I can just imagine a bard grabbing a magic microphone and saying the bee movie script and each word gives the enemy a pain much like a bee sting
@@fiery1223 i literally just burst out laughing when i read that. that makes a hiliarious amount of sense

“Seek the key” that is with the first half the this season episodes spells out.
Seek the key, fea
I love that season keeps getting unapologetically darker and darker as it goes on.
I love the small details, like Raine and Eda's song playing in the background of this video.
Something that I also want to point out regarding Bard Magic and Anime, is the small but noticeable nod to Howl's Moving Castle once again with the two Emperor's Coven soldiers marching away beyond their control, like the two soldiers who were flirting with Sophie that Howl sent away by controling their legs and making them march away.
1:22
It kinda reminds me of the hurting song from Rapunzel's Tangled Adventures.
I want to point out a very minor detail, well kind of minor, now major, that might not really be anything: back during the covention when the new kid joined the illusion coven, the process of sealing had a digital look to it. This time when the coven sigil is tampered with, its organic.
Did anyone else notice the spell Darius used at 3:40 is a perfect recreation of Max steelspike from pokemon shield and sword. ;)
7:38 or you know, the typical poetic license of artists painting murals on walls of castles. It's entirely possible that was a picture of him in his prime and he's just old now, or an exaggeration of his actual stature, that sort of thing happens all the time with powerful people.
Omg. I just realized something from the perspective after we've seen Them's The Breaks, Kid. Eda is the key to stopping the day of unity spell BECAUSE of the curse- it's her "poison magic", and Darius knows this because he felt it himself. Her final stand against the emporer will involve poisoning the whole spell altogether, causing it to fail.
If the owl house was some kind of anime or Just a adult cartoon (Talking about more Bloody and creepy actions) it whould even more amazing then it already is
I love the fact that rains rhapsody/Edas requiem is the background music
Fun coincedence: Keston John (She-Ra's Hordak) plays Darius in this episode; and in Camp Cretaceous as Darius' dad.
Three of my favorite shows connected by one man.
Anyone else feel like Darius is a abomination himself that is imitating a witch
Yes
An abomination that gained sentience perhaps
no..
Maybe same for Eberwolf
That would make sense since hit man bun has an eye showing, which he might need to see.
I have a theory. Maybe Wittebane isn't actually Emperor Belos. Maybe Wittebane managed to return home and found a clone of him who took over his live. Maybe this clone was evil and Wittebane managed to get him on the Boiling isles to hold him captive there. During that fight, they lost the portal, Wittebane was thrown back on earth while his clone got stuck on the boiling isles. But the clone still wants Wittebanes life, so he decides to find the portal. After many years of him searching, he realised, he can't do that alone, with all those wild witches around him, who probably terrorized him, because he couldn't do magic. So he decided to use the story's of the Titan and the technology he invented to conquer the wild witches, introduce the coven system and become Emperor Belos. All of that to finally return "home" and he calls that "The day of unity". Also he is a magical creature, so him consuming the Palismans to stay young makes sense. It could be that clone Luz will transform into this kind of monster as well
It would ex plan creepy luz and why she living in her house, and it would be a big time j if that is true about m bellos? I cost we just have to wait and find out till then?
This definately brings up an interesting point. If Luz has a clone, who's to say Wittebane didn't?
I saw someone say that maybe when you travel between realms then there is some part of you that stays behind and thats how creepy luz was created. And I thought the EXACT same thing for Phillip and Belos. I'm glad someone else thinks so because I explained it to a friend and my theory seemed waaay out there 😂
Interesting...
THIS WAS MY THEORY!
It makes so much sense right?
Raine is a pretty cool character I like them a lot!! 👍🏻 also I am in love with the little melody that they play together I keep going back to it. It was also really cool to finally see some bard magic and what it entails after not really seeing any form of bard magic before this episode. And I loved the abomination coven head and the beast keeping coven head those two were hilarious and I really wanna see them interact with the other coven heads in the future. Also THAT ENDING KIKIMORA YOU KAJDHDHSHDGDGD!!! One more thing I wanna mention while I went back to the episode a second time I kinda drew some parallels between Emperor Belos and his curse as seen in bits of Hunting Palisman and Darius becoming a literal abomination. Seems pretty similar and also seems similar to some of the spells that Belos and Hunter have cast with the fleshy yet goopy look to them. Maybe Darius has a bigger connection to Belos than we thought. Also VG Markus pointed out that Kikimora can trap witches with their coven symbols and now I’m wondering if she’s gonna do the same thing to Hunter eventually to get him out of the way. Makes me kinda scared for him. But yeah still prefer the last 2 episodes but this one was also great. 💙💖
Everything raine does has a dungeon and dragons equivalent. They are a perfect bard representation.
Darius says he does not like Alador. I hope this comes up in the episode follies at covens day parade. Maybe Alador will rebel.

Also eda requiem is incredible rain whispers is a great addition to the show
I legit though Eda was gonna kill two coven leaders. They took that darker tone with Marcy. Why should the coven leaders get an exception?!
I think it’s because they didn’t want to kill off Eda and Raine themselves
I always wanted Music-magic!
Most music related magic was always hypnotic, showing Illusion or putting someone to sleep.
This show didnt really go in the direction i had in mind for Music-magic, but it still did make me Happy.
The coven mark power is a big game changer. From earlier episodes this series we surmised they allowed the coven heads to draw magic from other coven members, but now we know they can also be used as a restraint.
This does however leave a few questions in regards to the coven marks.
1) who has the power/ spell or authority besides kikimora and perhaps the Emperor to do this to a coven marked witch?
2)Can the coven leaders do it? Are they limited to being able to only do it to members of their own coven?
3) Will this mean that when power is drained from the witches in the coven will they be cocooned at the same time to prevent them resisting?
4) what other secrets or abilities may the coven marks be hiding beyond what we have already seen?
At first I figured when it came time for the leads to battle against the day of unity, probably with the spell in the process of being cast for drama, only those not in a coven and therefore not being drained would be at full strength or even able to do any magic through glyphs. This now implies they may in fact be the only ones active at all at that point. Unless the leads figure out a glyph to paste over the coven marks to neutralize them.
I could see one way for Eda's magic nullification aspect to potentially be used and be useful, her survivability is still questionable. We know that the coven witches will be drained as part of the spell for the day of unity. Eda currently has no magic due to the curse, so presumably Belos sweep for witches will pass her over as a result, the only think Eda has that Belos would want her is palisman. But what if she did put on a coven mark and her cursed magic was drawn into the unity spell? Would it perhaps eat away at the spell, the coven heads and perhaps the Emperor forcing them to stop or just preventing the spell from working by poisoning the well of power they are drawing on. One can argue that as Lilth has a emperor's coven mark and if they are drained it will have the same effect, but we don't know if Eda's ability to do this is just because she is cursed or due to either how long she has been cursed or the ability of control she is starting to show she has over it that Lilth has yet to display.
I don't see this bit with King'd broadcast bringing the Emperor's attention, he had King in his grasp at least once before and the Golden Guard who seems to know a great deal more than most also had no issue with releasing King when he caught him. So unless King in some way develops abilities that make him a threat I don't see this putting a target on his back from the Emperor.
I want to say the figure who looks like King is at best a relative of King, not his father. I am basing this on the horns, the horns depicted on the form in the temple don't really match up with this figures horns which I personally think means they are not the same person.

I think bard magic using the same material as Belos' staff would make sense. I was confused at why bard magic didn't involve spell circles, but I suppose the instruments could be similar to a staff, having magic stored within them.

The bard magic reminds me of blood-bending.
I cant believe eda was going to kill herself in this episode
I think the fact she can still draw spell circles she still has magic, but as u said It could just be corrupted
No no, I think you have a point here. Luz cannot perform any magic on her own, so no spell circles right? So she uses the glyphs. Eda MUST still have her magic, in combination with still being able to creat spell circles but not having enough power to actually cast the spell, Lilith being able to still cast extremely weakened spells, and the fact that her song brought her magic back out of her even if it did begin corrupting her surroundings. As he and you both stated, yes her magic very well could be corrupted, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there right? I think it’s a matter of power too, maybe the curse doesn’t necessarily take away a witch’s magic literally, but weakens a witch to the point of appearing like they have lost their magic. Meaning that when or if Eda is cured, she may be able to practice magic again! Maybe not like before, the curse took a tole, but at least weaker stuff like we see with Lilith. Although that last part may just be wishful thinking, I really do think these things have some merit.
@@kindagaypopcorn it's definitely a possibility and it's always good to hope
I am still in shock from the episode.
Pt. 1) Eda was so devastated by luz and king leaving that she was going to off herself.
Pt. 2) raine.
Pt. 3) we were spelling raine’s name wrong for MONTHS.
Pt. 4) coven leaders.
Pt. 5) Darius is definitely gay and definitely used to be dating alador.
Pt. 6) didn’t Dana & co reference a wedding in one of their streams? And if so, who could that be? :)
I think Dana confirmed Alador was straight tho but maybe-
I have a question, Eda's able to make potion without her magic, so that means making potion doesn't require magic, then if you join the potion coven, will they seal all your magic? Do other coven witches also can make potion too?
Eda doesn't make her potions, she buys them from the night market

I feel like the Darius we saw here was most likely an advanced form of Abomination instead of a fusion - it'd make sense since higher level Abomination magic seems to make them more humanoid and easier to control, allowing him to basically send out clones of himself to do things - I mean, why else would he be in a swamp of all places, considering his personality? That does make the idea that he still doesnt like getting his abominations dirty amusing

This episode is beautiful
Honestly if all the coven heads are this cool I genuinely wouldn’t know what I’d want to do in this show lol.
Eberwolfs design and behaviour reminds me of the Werewolf girl in the Scooby Doo and The Ghoul School special. I wonder if she was an inspiration.

I second this
Also one of the most intriguing part of this ep is the designs of the other coven heads, we already see Darius and eberworlf but we also see the others on the background during Raines initiation thing, the illusion head has a tail, potions has very long arms and the Oracle has 4.
The song eda and raine played at the end of the ep in the beginning here almost made me tear up

Eberwolfs one of my favorites I just love the design and how he/she acts
I’m excited to see what the Potions Coven head is like. Their design is so interesting. And how will they level up potions magic?
The cocooning reminds me of the big event in Kill La Kill that happens at the stadium. They've GOTTA be sacrifices, right? Isn't that what it feels like?
All the newest episodes are really good
I love all three new characters and they how power a witches can be one field of magic
Eberwolf and Darius were really cool in my opinion. I've always been a fan of characters who wield beast powers, so I instantly took a shine to Eber. I honestly just thought of Beast Keeping magic as a form of monster taming, especially after what we saw from Gwendolyn in "Keeping Up A-Fear-Ances," so I didn't really have much of a high opinion of it. But after seeing Eber go full on Beast Boy, I can honestly say my opinion of Beast Keeping magic has changed for the better.
Darius' Abomination magic honestly left me shook. I stated before that I thought it was cool seeing Alador's Abomatons go full on Clayface, but seeing Darius out here like Inque from Batman Beyond was just too cool. Also, how the hell can he create portals with Abominations? That's nuts! I also think it's worth noting that unlike typical Abomination witches who summon Abominations to do their bidding, Darius seems to rely soley on his own strength, which could indicate that he only trusts himself to get a job done. Fusing with an Abomination the way he apparently has may be the goal of all Abomination witches. Imagine seeing Amity pull something like that off.
Also, I think this goes without saying, but Raine is gangster. They are just so freaking cool. I honestly expected the least from Bard magic, but Raine and the BATTS blew me away! I sincerely hope that Raine survives in the end. They are just too cool to lose, and I don't want Eda to have to go through that. She deserves a happy ending. Speaking of Eda, is it just me, or does she got it as bad for Raine as Amity does for Luz?
I loved this episode so much
So glad you made the madara reference for belos, love your takes!
I believe Emperor Belos wants every witch to be in a coven, to just take their entire magic away even the headcovens who would be powerless to stop Belos, I'm not sure if the Headcovens know that what they're doing is risking every witches lives in danger for Belos to be one with the Titan and killing off Humans and Wild Witches
Sounds like FMAB.
Thinking back on the bit about Rain's coven mark. Gwen has one. Lilith, though a defector, has one. It's really only the kids and Eda. Knowing that, rounding up the "wild witches" and forcing them into covens, he's building an army of all the witches and wizards. And now I'm anxious to know why and how the portal plays into it...
Rains smile is the best it reminds me of a turtle 🐢
