I was about to note that Biffo's get-up was kinda hobbit-esque, but then he beat me to the punch with the "yes I know I look like a hobbit version of Mick Fleetwood". But honestly, I'd say that Biffo pulls it off very well, regardless of his insecurities. He makes Fleetwood Hobbit look GOOD. Truly slaying it, especially since the sandals make him look ready for a nice holiday, which I reckon we could all use as the dog days of summer finally draw to a close. 4:12, Vinegar Hands is a great name for a character. And probably won't make you break out like poor old Lemon Eyes did. I can already see "Vinegar Hands in the Snake House" being a book in Book of Hours, which is basically Cultist Simulator except you're a librarian cataloguing occult literature in an ancient Cornish library. It's definitely not a game for everyone, but for me it is damn compelling, to the point that once I'm done watching videos today, I'm absolutely going to spend the rest of the night taming the books of Hush House. *_[The Road to Brancrug intensifies]_* As for that stone circle, you just KNOW that weird things happen there during the season of Numa. And as for the eye of the big needle, you could easily fit a camel through that if the camel was liquid. That may sound unhinged, and it absolutely is, but a liquid camel would have a VERY hard time being poured through the eye of an actual needle, due to surface tension and whatnot. Hell, a liquid camel would have an easier time being poured through a mon, aka the traditional Japanese coin with a square hole in the middle, since that hole is way larger than the eye of a needle. 17:20, wait, Eyam had lead mines? That's worrying, to say the least. Not because people got rich off of it, but because well, y'know, you really don't want lead in the water, and I reckon that probably happened because I doubt they had the health-and-safety reforms we have nowadays.

I should be writing something funny but I find the Victorian attitude to history absolutely fascinating; that it's something malleable where "as it should be" can override "as it was" and they were not averse to doctoring the odd text or moving the odd prehistoric monument to fit their ideas of how and why things were created. It feels oddly alien and yet... I'm also sure I see the same in our times, where the record of things I remember is not as I personally remember them, and yet I cannot find anything which backs up my memory.
The whole premise never made sense to me. "The village that sacrificed itself". There was nowhere to go to get help for the disease. Villagers could have gone outside the village into pastures, etc. if leaving the town was thought to be helpful. The history claims coins were exchanged for needed supplies at the destinations outside the town. People were not starving to death. Good for them if they did not spread the disease to others outside of Eyam! But I don't quite see that they sacrificed themselves because many probably would have died anyway even if they had left. Meanwhile, in London, families were officially sealed up in their dwellings while plague was occurring within. The best information from Eyam is that a number of present residents have genetics from those who survived the plague. Scientists have been studying this as some who descended from ancient plague survivors have immune systems that fight HIV.
I'm sad that the video ended before Sanja could read the word "nosegays", would have added a bit more fun to a quite dry video (which I still enjoyed).

Really interesting. The story is one of legend and like all good legends, there is enough truth for the moral of the tale to be valuable, inspiring and provoking. I wonder what truths and 'over enthusiasm' lies in other British folklore.
What made you decided to somewhat shift the channel towards making these little, I guess you'd call them somewhat mockumentaries? I say somewhat since they do still seem to be about real subjects, but they are also comedic.
This is a fair question, with a less-than-easy answer. The short of it is... Digitiser - back in its earliest days, pre-CZcams - mixed facts and journalism with the funnies. This is more true to that. The out-and-out comedy stuff we were doing before this was more of an aberration. We enjoyed doing it, but we never felt we got the format right. We love travel, history etc. This just felt like a better fit for us. The channel was also stagnating and shedding subs. Doing what we love has turned it around, and we're growing again. Hope that clears it up a bit. And yeah... wouldn't call this mockumentaries per se. More documentaries that just happen to have funny stuff in them.
Was there somebody from there who died on the Titanic? I have a theory that there is at least one person from every town and village that was a passenger on it. Hmmm.
