Rookies don’t usually “get” to influence the passing culture. But now Rice can add to the passing games because he has earned it and is gaining tenure.
This is why I am excited about our passing game evolution.

Hindsight time:
Not banging Pop all year for short yards might have kept him healthy. If I recall Pop had a shoulder that kept him out of preseason training and he did tweak it in the playoffs.
Now, If we can get UCLA ready, maybe we can bang more. I think we protected the violent runs from Pop at times.

In hindsight, it worked despite us fans wanting more Pop on short yardage. I think he doesn’t have his grown man body to take all the pounding. Especially since he initiates contact. I would like to see more wiggle from him at times and not using as much power.
This is why McKinnon and his relief and pass blocking is so valuable. IMO.

Let's be real, every draft class where out of 7 picks you got 3 Olinemen is generally speaking not gonna generate much hype in the fanbase, even less when 2 of the remaining 4 are 4th rounder safety and TE in what was generally considered a pretty weak S and TE classes.
That said, is not like their class from last year looked particularly impressive on paper and the ones that were called upon to play ended up being decent players, so there is that. The Chiefs don't need to get HRs, they need to get solid hits. If that TE ends up being Noah Gray that's a hit, if that safety ends up being a poor man's Justin Reid that's a hit, of one of those interior Dlinemen ends up being Nick Allegretti that's a hit, if their 6th rounder CB ends up being similar to Jaylen Watson and Joshua Williams that's a hit. None of the players I mentioned other than Reid is even in the top30 in their respective positions in the league, but they are decent/solid starters that help you round out a roster.
And everyone can have an opinion on the Chiefs roster, but it's pretty good. Sure, it lacks the recognizable star power that teams like San Francisco and the Eagles might have, but is filled with solid players that fulfill their role and the only arguably glaring weakness is left tackle where you have a rookie and sophomore day 2 pickd competing for the starting role. But when you compare that to the San Francisco 49ers who have ONE above average Olinemen or the Eagles who have ZERO back seven players worth a damn, this current draft and FA not withstanding, is not like the Chiefs are the only team with positions of need, everyone has an Achilles heel they need to coach around, no roster is perfect. And honestly, ONE mediocre or even flatout Olinemen is a big deal, but is not the franchise dooming issue some overly dramatic people paint it as.
Refreshing to see you guys reviewing your expectations and predictions from this standpoint « what did I get wrong ». Despite these « mistakes » , the whole exercise shows how much you guys understand football and invest time in it.

I didn't think Worthy was going to be available and I think it was a great pickup. I thought AD was going to fall to the Chiefs. I didn't think any of the Chiefs competitors were going to let the Chiefs get a quality player. That it was the Bills is ironic; haven't they learned not to give the Chiefs any opportunitues?😂

Sure, the Commanders players complained about Bieniemy but that whole organization were a bunch of losers. They've been in 3 playoff games in 12 years, haven't made it past Wild Card round in almost 20 years and the last time they were in the playoffs the team was 7-9. They don't really get much rope when it comes to complaining about a 2 time SB Champ.
What Hardman said about the Jets probably was worse in Washington and at minimum, just as bad.

Nick Bolton hits like few others. Few missed tackles one on one. Hands can't catch a cold, but he's repenting.
Xavier dropping one ball is not a big deal. You’re not gonna always catch every football thrown to you. Sometimes you might accidentally drop it because you didn’t clinch your hands on time obviously, yes, he has to catch the ball, but there’s sometimes with the ball just comes to you and you don’t get that time on your hands to catch it and secure the ball but he made a lot of his catches and it’s no big deal. He still is a demon weapon like calm down any receivers going to drop some footballs that they should’ve been able to catch, but maybe they just didn’t get a good grip and clinch on the ball just like Tyreek when he dropped the football against the ravens I think it’s just all about redeeming your reaction to catching the ball

The Worthy/Ross comparison is whack. The only thing they have in common is speed
Same height, hand size, arm length, 40, & broad jump
But Ross only had 1 good year at Washington whereas X was solid for 3 years.
Not crazy to compare the two though. There’s not many that size speed to actually compare.
