Did anyone else see Bryson go out of his way with the gentleman in the wheelchair? Bryson had every right to keep his head down and stay focused when walking by but he didn't. He looked up, broke his concentration and stopped to make this guys life. He shook his hand, signed his hat, and even shook his hand again. It was the highlight of the championship for me.

So happy for Bryson. He’s gotten so much hate over the past few years and it’s just sad to see. But after the last few majors people are starting to love him again. Been following his CZcams for a while. Such a good dude. And insanely smart and talented when it comes to golf
I mean, he was a fucking douche in a lot of people's eyes with the know-it-all engineer persona. I still liked him because my personality is like his, but I get why people were put off by him, especially in a game as uptight and robotic as the PGA is...

A moment that showed his genuine respect for golf and his fellow opponent was on 18 when he communicated to the fans to calm down when Pavon didn’t putt out after his first putt. Some people, including myself, thought Pavon should putt out to give the stage to Bryson but he literally said “it’s okay” to the crowd and let the proper golf etiquette apply, even with what was on the line at that moment. That truly shows he wasn’t selfishly thinking of himself and had the mindset to do the right thing for his opponent and for the integrity of the game. It’s a moment that I hope gets mentioned more in light of the many entitled professional athletes out there.
Came here to say this. 100% agree. To think of his competitor when he had a put to win the Open. Amazing stuff.
And to be fair, Pavon shouldn't have putt out due to the fact that it would have given Bryson a read, even if it was a short putt. If Bryson had a bigger lead, then I think Pavon does putt out. But Bryson still has to make to prevent a playoff, so there was a lot at stake with that putt.

@@xCambino I was surprised they didn't mention it on the broadcast. Rory had just missed from a shorter distance. He would not have been happy if Pavon had gone ahead and putt. Of course Pavon, Bryson, and the rest of the field understood this.

Same here. I watched Tiger through my entire teenagerhood and adulthood but I kind of fizzled out around the same time as you. I still watched bits here and there, but I was straight up involved in this one with all the golftube I watch. I've really enjoyed seeing Bryson's real personality come out for everyone. Like the announcer said today, people really do know who he is now.

I just wanna say despite everything on the line for Bryson and having his back to the wall towards the end. This man is absolute world class for taking the time to sign that gentleman’s hat in the wheelchair and actually give him a moment he will remember for the rest of his life.
Interacting with the fans the way he does and even taking the time to sign the hat of the disabled kid was amazing to see, true class.
Went to the open Thursday had a blast and followed bryson. Such a nice guy and deserves every bit of that win. Nice to everyone, he has won a fan for sure.

I think that's his major winning days 100% over, thought they were anyway but I don't think you'll see him compete again. Talent wise he should have 10 majors but sadly just doesn't have that winning mentality at the highest level

He also took the cup over to the crowd and let some touch it, the way he interacted all tournament, you never see that, the guy is a class act!!

This truly showed who Rory is. No interview after no congrats to the winner. Just carried himself very selfishly. Granted he was trying to be focused on winning but no excuse for just leaving after you lost. Bryson on the other hand hitting hands and signing hats a very unselfish athlete and human. I watched him all 4 days he was the same guy all four. He deserved this win.
