These deaths are such a cheap way to try and give the illusion of choice while making sure that Clem's left in exactly the same position... Jane's is so out of character and Kenny deserved better, these cutscenes broke my heart ;_;
Re: Jane's character, not necessarily. She has run from responsibility and groups before. Between Clem, AJ, and now Luke Jr (the one she couldn't run from even if she did the other two), in that moment she reverted to her old selfish self and took the only zero responsibility path she saw.

SOMEBODY FINALLY SAID IT. The Jane flashback has been bugging me for a while because it didn't feel in character. I mean . . . even if they all had to die "for plot convenience", have it be like she got an infection or got sick from trying to abort the child. Seriously, Telltale. You can show of zombies and brains and freaking cannibalism but you can't have a woman with her legs under a blanket having supposedly aborted her kid? Instead you make her kill herself. If anybody was going to do that, it would've been Kenny, and even then, Kenny's too freaking stubborn to die without a say about it.

I knew it, TellTale wasn't going to let either Kenny or Jane live. They wouldn't exert the effort to make multiple endings and incorporate multiple routes/dialogues/action sequences, etc. that involved both Jane and Kenny in the main plot. It would be too much work. I knew they were going to kill either of them.

if you think about it, how many hours extra would that be? they'd have to storyboard, animate, and voice act two different games. besides that, Clem's whole thing in this season is having loved ones only brings more pain. this attitude was broght on by either loosing Jane or Kenny, so that eould have been completelly different if they were still there. id love to see Kenny still alive, but that's not practical on both the story and game design.

I'm honestly very disappointed with the route Telltale went with here. The choice about whether going with Kenny, Jane, or Wellington should have actually meant something. No matter what Jane and Kenny die. It feels like a cop out so they could just start fresh. I really like season 3 so far, but basically making all of season 2 pointless filler was stupid in my opinion.
Kenny could still be alive if you left him behind and went into Wellington but I don't know how Kenny could know where aj and Clem went when Wellington got attacked

Dragøn Zørd his real death is in season 2 where he tells you that you made the right choice and that this is what he's always wanted and clem can tell him he'll see his family again and kenny smiles, because he's wanted that since season 1 and in episode 5 of season 1 where ben falls to death and kenny pushes you to the gate there's dialog where lee can say kat wouldn't want this kenny says I'll be with her again, and even if you went to weligton and stayed for kenny would be alive he would die there's nothing left to live for he has no aj and clem and in season 2 episode 4 he says he wants to die and he's been wanted to die since season 1 he would kill himself

Heck, if Wellington was overwhelmed by that, then I doubt that Kenny who was nearby and alone would have survived that.
And if he was not closeby when that happened, it's still just a very convenient way for Telltale to kill him off.
Seeing how cheap his death was in the Kenny flashback, I think they just wanted to cut the ties between the Season 2 characters and Season 3 characters rather quickly. Except that Clementine is still here (which I'm very glad about).
I think Telltale wanted a fresh start and that is why they introduced a new family of which one of it's members is the character who you control. And to be honest I love the character so far. :)
...Just please don't kill our Clem, we raised her ffs. :( If I see Clem die, it's gonna hurt me more than Kenny's death to be honest. Cause we've all been watching her grow up since Season 1. We raised her as our kid on Season 1, we played as her on Season 2... If she ever dies, her death is gonna be a pretty big deal. lol

ghostninja nl Exactly, that was a super weak ending. Could of made rhis game the best of the series if only they put a little more effort into it. They need to stay with only a select few series instead of trying to do too much because it is taking away the experience of their works. I was so excited to be with Kenny and play through the game for a few episodes just for his death to shock me and give me enough closure later on, but then they try to pull this and a 1 hour episode and expect us to be happy? It really makes every choice from season 2 useless and I thought 2 years would be enough to make a better flashback story. I loved the present day story with Javier, but the flashbacks have really made me mad.

No matter what you choose, Clementine will be in the exact same position in S3's story - the only thing that would change are the flashbacks, but thats all they are, just flashbacks. And they themselves connected little to the overall plot of S3

They could've:
*Make him survive for at lease until Episode 5, give him a "no choice" death, get bitten accidentally because he went to protect Clem and AJ, get a dramatic scene where it involves a lot of tears, die.*

Ok so basically TellTale was like nah Kenny and Jane had a big storyline already so we are just going to kill them off. Jane's death I understand since people were commenting that Jane's selfish ,which I disagree since she and Luke were like a thing and she was pregnant with Luke's baby. So, she's like no I'm gonna end my life now since we already had went through this whole pregnancy thing so I don't want clem to go through this, by taking care of me more the AJ. So, you know I don't want to be a problem to Clem and AJ since we had already went through this with Rebecca. Kenny's death don't quite understand why the kinda killed him off in a car accident. I mean I understand he's been through a lot after his wife and son passing but, he's fought his way out of death most of the time so why kill him now. IMO Jane and Kenny's death made me feel like that Telltale got lazy and just kinda killed these 2 characters off, anyone agree or just me.

So Kenny died like a hero and Jane paid for her mistakes. Seems right, in my opinion. Cuz remember, all Kenny wanted was to protect those who he could call his family, so he sacrificed himself for the second time for that reason only. Jane, on the other hand, was getting laid with Luke, when they were supposed to be looking out for zombies, while that lady was giving birth to AJ. The Walking Dead Telltale always do this; When you have a choice to decide who lives, it will not matter because in the end, they'll both die. Most decisions in this game doesn't change the outcome that much but still a good game.
Also i didn't like how they rushed the story and especially make it all flashbacks. All the characters' story arcs were wasted. They really wanted to have new set of characters and just throw the old story. Maybe they'll kill off Clem too for plot convenience... again

Alfrancis Nuñez Not to mention the agony you go through choosing Kenny or Jane. Going to Wellington or letting the family in. And then it means absolutely nothing other than a 5 minute cutscene. Telltale makes Mass Effect 3's choice of endings seem significant.
I get what you're saying, but think about what would happen if Kenny and Jane didn't die like they had. The individual stories would be so far off from each other, there's no way season three would have been made. The differences are simply too great. They would need to make at least three separate renditions of season three (Kenny, Jane and alone/Wellington, since they end up basically the same), where one takes place with Kenny in Florida, one with Jane in their base or wherever they end up, and one where she ends up on her own and meets Javier. I don't know if Telltale intended to streamline it with unalterable character deaths from the beginning or if it was an unintended side-effect, but they had to give the game the same starting point somehow.
they could've made the cutscenes the same as they are now, just a little different. for example if you went with Jane, it would start with them leaving howes due to it being unsafe and then the flashback with Clem meeting Ava will have Jane and they both join the new frontier then the last flashback at the end of EP.5 will have Clem and Jane escape the new frontier and Jane hangs herself out of guilt of what she did when she was with them. The flashback then ends when Clem cuts down the tree to stop the truck Javier was in.

the ending of 2 split the story into 3 very different paths. with killing them off and turning them into flashbacks it was an easy way to have one story for season 3 again. of course u can believe whatever u want.

That's called lazy writing. And Kenny letting Clem drive the car at that speed? If they were in a hurry Kenny would have driven and let Clem drive in safer areas. Especially after what happened to Duck when he got on a tractor.

Ok judging by how old AJ is in each flashback,
Jane: Looks like hes still a newborn or 1, still wrapped in swaddling clothes and has to be carried
Kenny: Much older, about 2 (especially since he should be able to talk)
People think that there choices ultimately didn't matter because both kenny and jane die. But to me, it did matter, im happy I chose kenny because at least I got more time with him and AJ together, I take comfort in knowing that Kenny stayed alive longer than Jane and that his death was at least honorable and not selfish and cowardly.
assyrianprincess the alone ending makes the most sense, would clem really look away and let a friend butcher a friend and after be completely fine with him seems out of character and when you shoot kenny he tells you that you made the right choice and that this is what he's always wanted and clem can tell him he'll see his family again, clem wouldn't go with a friend who lied and got a friend killed, both tried to kill each other and both had faults, and in the alone sequence in season 3 aj is just as grown as he is in the kenny sequence, kenny is one of my favorite characters but he did wrong jane did also but jane wasn't being selfish she was pregnant and there was no way they could take care of 2 babies

While they were quick i think the deaths were kind of fitting. Jane acted as if she had no one ALOT in s2 and now shes pregnant and doesnt want to leave the baby with no-one so she kills herself before the baby can come to term. Kenny literally had no seatbelt on and was kneeling on the seat, he was gunna fly out and he ultimately sacrifced himself which is something he'd do to assure AJ and Clems safety, assuming they remind him of duck.
The deaths were extremely stupid full stop. Jane hang herself? Kenny flew out of a car? Wtf? The laziness is real. Not to mention their models look like AJ molded them with clay...

k3431D3 It could go either way with Kenny pretty much. If you left him when you got to Wellington, he'd just stay near the area since they told him that he could come back when there is a spot open. Considering that there were still not any open spots for him to go in before Wellington was attacked, he is still probably out there. If he came back after the attack on Wellington which could either be standing or destroyed. I don't think it completely fell because it was a big community and it can't just fall like that. Anyway, if Kenny goes back and sees that Clem and AJ weren't there due to the attack, he'd try to look for their dead bodies to make sure but since he couldn't find them, he would assume that they are alive or escaped.
his real ending is in season 2 where it makes the most sense

I reckon that AJ could be deaf or have some hearing problems as he doesn't seem to talk much. He obviously stil has some hearing but it might not be great due to the many times where gunfire has been right next to his ears like in s2 with the Russian group and obviously babies' ears are sensitive to loud noises so it could be possible.

That's an interesting idea. I was thinking he may be (or have been if he's dead) autistic because iirc children on the spectrum are slower when it comes to communicating early on. This may be wrong though as he does seem capable of non-verbal communication.
I thought it was just a case of them often having to hush him so that zombies and bandits don't spot them. Eventually he learned to be quiet most of the time. Like if you tell a baby not to touch something enough times at some point they won't.

It's almost the same as if you do accept them. The only difference would be that that one conversation about them taking off with half their food wouldn't take place.

Darwin Watterson in my husband's play through, he had refused to let in the family. And when we got to the flashback, Jane instead said "if that asshole family hadn't come back and attacked us" or something like that. So they are still present in the flashback, just a slightly different scenario :)

What if Kenny is still alive after the Wellington flashback? In that season 2 ending we never see him die, and as we know if you don't see a dead body they're probably still alive. You don't see Kenny die in the flashback either, so unless I missed something he maybe alive.

Alright I know Jane's death was sad, but the way she died kinda frustrates me. She left Clem on her own with the baby and now has forced her to kill her own friends pit of mercy again if you killed Lee. Now you could interpret this as Jane didn't want to be a burden to Clem with another baby but the way I see it was she didn't want to have the responsibility to take care of her own baby which is kind of selfish in a sense. I don't know but I didn't like how she died and compared to Kenny's death this just felt more frustrating than sad.

But she basically out herself over clemintine and Aj and we've seen selfish behavior before back in season 2. Kenny lost EVERYTHING. His wife his son his girlfriend Lee lost his eye nearly lost his sanity and still he did EVERYTHING all for clemintine and AJ. It's CLEAR who's the better character
