- Join me and Laura as we take you on a road trip to show you where the residents do their shopping and get large discounts in Tenerife! We hit the road in our Sanasty Car Rental to drive to Santa Cruz, Tenerife's capital. We have a nice local coffee stop on the way before parking up for free at the Meridiano Shopping centre to show you around all of the famous shops and the prices. Shops inside Meridiano include Primor, Primark, Zara, Bershka and much more. I also enjoy a lovely Pizza for lunch before we head across to El Corte Ingles, another very famous Spanish retail department store just down the road!
We also show you around some of Santa Cruz city itself including the back streets, a wonderful historic Spanish coffee shop and also a Gluten Free Bakery! We got some absolute bargains and you could really see the price difference between the North and South of the Island!

We don't drive, but find using t6he bus an easy way to get to Santa Cruz; 110 non stop from Costa Adeje takes around 55 minutes; 111stopping service from Costa Adeje & Los Cris takes about 90 minutes & 112 non stop from Los Cris takes around 50 minutes. All drop off outside the Meridiano centre but only pick up from the bus station on the return trip. each route is generally half hourly and the 1 day travelcard (actually valid 24 hours froom 1st use, rather than time of purchase) costs 10 Euros and is also valid on the trams in Santa Cruz as well as all buses on the island. A 7 day Travelcard is also available for 50 Euros.

Los Chris bus station, the 112 bus is as fast as a car, well worth a trip up North
A great idea too would be Christmas shopping trips to Tenerife Santa Cruz. It's not something I would have thought of before but you could go for some winter sun and Christmas shopping. Think that's a great idea😊

loved this trip to Santa Cruz. My husband and i went there on an Island tour, but didn't see the shopping mall . Went up the side streets. But this was good. Very informative. Thank you both of you. Was lovely to see Laura out and about!

I rented a car last week at Sanasty. Recommend, nothing negative to say! I would recommend automatic transmassion, a sh*tload of steep parts in Tenerife :-).

I can't believe being there looks better for people that are gluten free the things I like the look of sin gluten it looked lovely
We would love a Carrefour here in the south. We spend a fortune in there when we go to Santa Cruz, their bakery croissants are the best. A day out in Santa Cruz is always an expensive one and we go in all the shops you did, plus quite a few more. We’re considering an over night stay on the run up to Christmas in a hotel so we can have an evening meal there. We do love Santa Cruz so very different to the south.

We went to Santa Cruz on Black Friday in 2022, the shopping centres were rammed! 😂. Last year we came a week earlier and it was much quieter 🙂...but not so many batgains. Oh and caught the bus from Los Cristianos, takes about an hour.

Hi Andrew and Laura fab vlog. Is there any plus size shops in Santa cruz selling size 22 to 24 uk women's size and 3xl and 4 xl men's clothes? Loved seeing all the old architecture and that quaint cafe. We loved Santa Cruz when we visited but we went at night would love to go during the day 😊.

If you like big luxury department stores, they are amazing in Japan, Daimaru Tokyo has 11 floors, the bottom 2 are dedicated to food 😂 then the top floor has a art gallery. Didn't u know it's bad luck to put new shoes/ trainers on the table, Andrew 🙈 . You get thoes Disney bags in the uk too but I can't remember the prices 😅

Cortefiel best shop for men in Tenerife and boy do they have great sales, we have all our Christmas shopping done saved a fortune on the sales, Oceano Las Chafiras Diesel usually €1.06 petrol usually€1.09 at the weekends, ALDI Las Chafiras diesel usually €1.06 petrol usually €1.09 every day, and the cafe at Oceano is the best, great pizzas and pappas etc, etc, and cheap as chips. There is also a carrefour at Anaza.

I spent christmas ladt year in Santa Cruz. We had a lovely time there. My son loved seeing the cruise ships that were docked and the military museum. We used the bus to travel from there for our day trips to siam park and loro parque.

El Corte Ingles is a Department Store like Harrods is and and its creator brought the idea from Cuba (before the communist revolution) which in turn was imported from the USA. It is strange since in general the prices are not cheap except for some exceptions, for example with some electronic devices that I have seen cheaper than in MediaMarkt or Carrefour.
And on top of that, there are usually not many people there, so one wonders how this type of Department Store has survived for so long.
