    So you want to waste time marking for equal length pieces then go ahead and and cut them short and basically randomly defeating the whole purpose of using the damn thing. You've got to be shitting me.

      I said the exact same thing!!! Just cut on the marks and use the ends as kindling. Or just eyeball like I do and they’re fine. What a joke.

    You basically done it by eye even though you marked it with the fancy gadget

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před 5 lety

      I could not have done it by eye, with out ending up with a real short piece.

    Nice review. I'm gonna be faced with cutting firewood this summer. And trying to make this as little tedious a task as possible, everything helps.

    I have the Mingo also and love it. Takes nothing to walk down a few logs at a time and then knowing they’re all the same length.

      They are a great tool. This one has paid for itself several times.

    What are the different holes for on the wheel end? Half inch in?

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před 6 lety +1

      +zr2trackerjoe They are for different size wheels for doing different length wood.

    If you’re not going to cut on the marks, why bother. Just eye ball it and it comes out fine. I’d cut on the marks and use the small pieces you call “uglys” as kindling.

    Cheaper to get a stick, lay it on the log as you go and paint the log.

      It also 5 times slower.

    • @powdermik
      @powdermik Před 2 lety

      Actually the science behind the tool vs marking with a stick like it did before buying this awesome tool is 20 times faster not 5

    It looks like the first log or branch that bumps it would end in disaster

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před 2 lety

      Well it is plastic. You wouldn't let a log or branch hit your saw would you?

    I sell the ugliest as he calls them here in Texas many people like to put a big log on the fire that last through the night. A truck full of uglies makes me money and I can keep my reg logs at 18

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před 2 lety

      I burn the uglies and sell the 16'' stuff.
