- On World AIDS Day 1989, Diana, Princess of Walesd visited the newly-established AIDS ward at ST Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London. There, she toured the facility and met patients living with AIDS on the ward. The joy of people when they see her....Miss you princess
Younger people today have no idea how absolutely terrifying the 80s AIDS epidemic was. The tv adverts and warnings were constant, and as teens it just seemed to be everywhere- you were paranoid about all kinds of stupid things. Our lovely neighbour’s son was diagnosed with AIDS and was dead within months. Just 22 years old. The shame and social embarrassment around the whole issue was appalling.
She was a true humanitarian, no one like her. Treated every person as her equal. Truly a royal human being.
I like the guys laugh at 7:33 😅
She was a ray of light and hope for people ❤️🩹
Princess Diana single-handedly removed the stigma of AIDS because when we didn't understand it and she was shaking hands and talking to AIDS patient, we were concerned that she was going to die and when she didn't, people were willing to take the risk and engage with loved ones who were dying of AIDS. They weren't left alone to go through their final hours by themselves. What Princess Diana did was lay the blueprint so we learned to do our own research on diseases before we whip ourselves into hysteria. Thanks to me watching and learning from Princess Diana how to intelligently respond to new diseases, I acted differently when COVID came around. No, Dr. Fauci wasn't able to pull the wool over my eyes. Pure blood.
oh come on, didd you really think that the RF would allow Diana to do someting dangerous? do you really think that AIDS was transmisable by hand shaking?
Never Ever Forgotten
