Almost everyone does that because even whiffing moves on third strike builds meter. For shoto characters, crouching strong is a pretty good way to build some meter before actually going in for the attack.

I love this move, I always thought it would be really hard to pull off. Turns out it's pretty easy haha hella risky tho saving up your bar. Akuma seems pretty weak to me for that reason :/ but I love to use him
it's called balance since he does a LOT of damage so to balance the character they had to nerf some areas so he is not OP.
+Donald Mokgale He doesn't do a lot of damage. He's fast, the fastest out of the shoto characters and has great combo potential but does the least amount of damage
alright bro i concede, i have not played this on console before to argue there. That is strange considering in other series he deals the most damage of the shoto characters.
+Donald Mokgale I think usually he does but in this game he's pretty weak. I know because I used him a lot and when I used to play against my friend who would use ryu or ken they'd both deal an insane amount of damage and my attacks would only chip away at their health in comparison even tho I hit them more timez most games. Also he doesn't have any EX moves
are you serious? geewiz that is fucked up! so essentially you work much harder to kill them but he has low health too so that already puts you in a disadvantage.
