V Rising Boss Guide: Adam the Firstborn

- The new final boss of V Rising, Adam the Firstborn, holds the Shard of the Monster. In this video, I'll show you how the battle works and some tips on how to defeat him.
If you're learning this encounter for the first time, I recommend getting used to leaving the fight and restarting. You'll need to bring a lot of health potions to help with this, but you're better off learning how to master the fight before you try fighting him to the death. If you haven't learned the fight yet, Ice Block is a useful skill since it can help block most attacks, and gives you a bit of healing.

Well done man, this dude is no joke. I had to try out different blood types till I found a winner for this fight. Greatsword really kept this fight alive for me. The I-frames it gives, gives you the option to save your evades and defensive spells for oh snap moments.

Also, I noticed that you didn't use Pistol Q very much and opted to go for the basic attacks. Is it better DPS? I imagine that Fan the Hammer also has the attribute bonus which should really help.

j m finally up to him having cleared all the rest one attempt so far no deaths but no success trying to learn as i go here
I found a trick. Ok, you can say it's cheating 😂You activate him and move to the corner of the balcony closest to him. You cast an angel in the arena from there, without jumping in the arena. If you are lucky (took 4 tries for me), he moves towards the angel, so very close to the balcony, to attack the angel. From the balcony you can then attack him with rain bolts, mosquitoes and dark knights till you recharge the angel. Instead of mosquitoes you can use void. Be sure your attacks are continuous, the second he doesn't get hurt he respawns.
I dont know if you ever see this, but I just wanted to say thank you for this. This strat helped me and my wife so much during our fight with this pos. This fight took us like 4 hours naturally and all it did was damage the hell out of our gear. This helped us on nail it on the second try. SCREW this fight and the sadist that designed it.

I tried a similar method that works with crossbow, void and another aoe like blood pool (you will need jewels that allow an extra recast) and items/blood that reduce cool down as I find in the second phase the summons can result in Adam spawning the death ray on the balcony or evening jumping on it himself and throwing you into the arena!
Stand as near as you can on the balcony and use the angel to pull him over to you and then spam rain of bolts and the spells, void and ignite are crucial as they stop him from resetting due to the tiny damage the effect deals, after he regenerates you need to hit him with spells immediately - for sure it’s cheese but screw that dude lol 😂

Used this build (no blood moon because I kept trying over and over and 2 blood moons didn't work well enough) red pendant and my guns had the storm buff (static) took a couple tries and I succeeded.I did use the Phase 1 exploit. I did all ''uber bosses'' with guns. Gorecrusher brute blood and winged horror (blood moon) Rogue blood (phantom aegis and blood rage both have the remove debuff ability with a jewel). I used different builds for the other 2 However. Thank you.
What r those 2h buffs you have? I've trying doing this boss with melee...no chance, after watching your video I've tried using crossbow and got him to 1/4 hp but he killed me after trowing my ass into one of those lighting bubbles. I still need to upgrade 1 piece of Dracula's armor and one epic gem for abilities, maybe then I'll manage. Also if you have lightning resistance that would make a whole lot of difference if that's what that buff of yours is.
this boss was unnecessarily difficult, but maybe its on me since I gotten use to the double dash of the chaos dash as well as blood rage for extra healing, everything else was well... meticulous
I cant harness the powers after they are placed in the pedestals, do they work differently now after the new update?
The shards are essentially amulets, so you need to have whichever one you want to use equipped. The durability wears done pretty quickly, even while stored in the pedestal. Beating the primal blood bosses in the tier II rift incursions will restore 500 durability for whichever shard you have equipped. If a shard does get destroyed, you’ll need to rematch the corresponding boss to get another one.
question, with the release of the 1.0...it seems that the iceblock is no longer in the game.
Dang, that's actually an important change I missed in my 1.0 update video. I rarely use frost, so that's probably why I didn't notice. Ice Block is now an ultimate ability with a 2 minute cooldown, and it replaced (or combined, depending on how you look at it) the Frost Vortex ultimate you used to get from the Winged Horror.
With Ice Block as an ability gone, you'll have to replace it with another kind of healing or counter ability if you're fighting the same way as in my video
I've been using blood fountain for self healing (especially good with a jewel to recast a second lesser heal). I guess you'd have to forego that if you wanted a second counter as well.
Ice block still exists, they just moved it to the ultimate slot.
Personally my favourite built is sanguine coil and chaos volley and as much spell leech as you can get for sustain and ranged poke. With it I got to second phase on my second attempt although I had no clue he had a second phase so I had like 50 health when I got there. Will admit I more or less just ignored the electricity though and the arena was rough to navigate.

It is, but it is an Ult now so this build is not possible.
Tried him just for the lulz today, and quickly decided to dash away. I'll stick with the main bosses since I play solo. I presume these are much harder than the final boss anyway, rendering the buff useless for solo play.
Ice Block is no longer a regular move. Any updated suggestions?
I used double shield. Frost and chaos barriers worked well for me. Took me about an hour on brutal.
yea next content patch deletes all your progress so you have to do all this all over again. looking forward to it.

Piss shet boss lol, his instant grab in later stages is so busted, i swear the grab hitbox is busted. I really need to work on my camera movement, he mostly comes from behind me off camera. The 2nd phase i am literaly clueless has to what to do. But thanks for the tips i will try them
That impale attack is trash. He'll do a 180 and stab you if he dashes past.
There’s a trick you go in the arena make him attack you immediately leave pull the lever a second time and the lighting guns aren’t active

I find the Ice block to be buggy as shit! Does anyone else have this problem?
Make sure the cursor is positioned on you and it'll be fine
yeah I thought so at first and then realized that if you put your cursor on yourself as Brian points out it works well, been frustrated for a few moments before I figured it out.
It's such a stupid fight. I don't even understand why it needs to have 2nd phase in normal mode. And man, talking about Adam in normal mode in the forum, the only responses are git gud, skill issue, should try in Brutal mode if you think this is hard or just focus on the generator.
Like the generator is the easy part. The problem is the constant aoe and electrical mine with such range. Even in the video you can see how just missing one dash caused Adam to go behind the player, do a ground slam, you get stunned while falling to the ground and a lightning hits you while you are down. Hell, you even have 3 legendary weapons. Even then the dmg looks so negligible.
