I love the fact that you have your own channel Now. I think it gives you more freedom to do what you wanna do when you wanna do it. I would like to ask you... what do you do with your discards? I teach classes at a Senior center and you know there's never money for xtras. In classes so I was just wondering do you sell them?
Thank you for doing this video. I did a massive purge five years ago and it took me about 6 weeks. I was sickened by how much product had never been opened and totally forgotten. We won't talk about the money!!!!!! I was burnt out working with companies and doing trade shows. I sold 90% of the items. Fast forward 6 years and I realize my greatest love IS paper!!!! So I am back at it and I have replaced many items but I buy wisely and won't allow myself to get sucked into full sets, buying because it's cute or pretty. I have to come up with 6 recorded/noted ways of using something before I can buy it. I am strict with myself and find this method of staying in control satisfying. I am selling cards so I do need a variety but I am quick to purge as well. I so enjoy my self-inflicted rules. It keeps me focused and on budget. I heard myself in your words as you purged. Again, thanks so much for your insight.

I have limited space for stamps too, but it’s 12 bins instead of two. A blessing I know, but it does mean it takes more time to purge and organize. I admire how easily you say, “time to go!”

I loved hearing your thought process on purging. I started by limiting my containers. Nothing new unless there is room. But I fall off the wagon now & again. Next is stamp sets. Have been stamping for 20+ years and purged very little. Now I'm overwhelmed and crafting is a chore because I can't find things. Less in this case will equal more. Less supplies = more quality, stress free crafting time. One last thing, I have unsubscribed from many sites to avoid the temptation of their sales and free products I probably won't use. You will be in my head as I go through the stamp set process of categorizing and purging. Thank you!!!
I've been having the same issues - even though I have catalogued a lot I spend so much time moving things around to find things. I serious look is in my future!

Thank you for sharing your thought process! That was very valuable to me and it also highlights the lessons we can all learn as we go through our own process! For example, the stamp might be wonderful, but accepting that it doesn't align with what you want to create is a little painful (short term), but freeing because hopefully, we remember that pain and won't repeat the same buying habits!
As someone that has bought almost all of my craft stuff after having my house blow up from a gas leak, second hand. Thank you to all crafters that take their unwanted craft supplies to Goodwill and Salvation Army and selling on Facebook Marketplace. We had great insurance thankfully but buying second hand has saved me so much money. Yes I have bought lots that had only one or two things I really wanted or half of the lot was unusable in the end, most were perfectly usable. I did buy a few things and then found rat droppings from storage areas, but that happens when you buy some storage you just can't keep bugs and rats or field mice out of cardboard and some plastic storage systems are not air tight. I have bought yarns that was a mix of cottons, wools, and synthetic. The synthetics will get made into dog blankets for the local shelter and the cottons and wool will get used for my own personal projects(i make mittens, hats,socks, and afghans. I knit and crochet. The only real store bought purchases were for Cricut items and I love my Cricut Maker. I just wish I had known that they were coming out with another just months later. I bought mine from a local Michael's. I wanted a red one to match all my other Cricut accessories however I only had one choice Black. Funny thing it was the Pink one in the box. I reported it to Michael's that someone had switched boxes at some point. They said I could return it and get my money back but they did not have a machine to replace it with.
Yes, would love to see you go through all your stamps. For me it won’t be boring because you make me consider questions I would never think of regarding if I should keep a stamp set or not. 😉
I can't believe I saw this video today - I've been having such challenges even being in my craft space as it weighs me down. I decided yesterday that it is time to do some painful purging (I have purged many times over the years) and realized it is all the fading colored cardstock (15 yrs old from stampin up) I see immediately when I walk in the room - hello pre-school! And a serious look at punches and embossing folders. If all goes well, stamps will be next (again!). Thanks for the inspiration!
I watched this after your live, and it has been incredibly helpful. I'm about to get new craft room furniture and everything needs to leave my room. I don't want to bring back in anything I don't really love or need. Your process for purging stamps and dies was just what I needed. This video was so timely because I am in the process of purging for the first time. I laughed out loud when you said you had two boxes of stamps. I probably have 10 and of course it's too much. Thanks for this video. I have purged before but not a deep dive. I do have plenty of space and plenty of cabinets but still so much product that I don’t use. Some I have had for years. I need to make my space more appealing and friendly to me. I will take all the motivation I can find.

Try running the crafts dept at Girl Scout camp. Bins and bins of stuff that I keep stored because we rotate and reuse concepts every couple years.

I just got through purging my craft room best feeling ever I gave all my extra stuff to a lady at work that has two little girls who love it. An extra dies I gave to another friend at work that uses dies my problem is paper I love paper I have so much paper I have a scrapbook paper bin I have paper everywhere very hard to get rid of thank you for your ideas of getting rid of stuff congratulations on the little one
You inspired me to purge. I have stamp sets up to 10 years old that I never used and I finally realized I never will so I’m letting them go. Giving someone else the opportunity to use them feels good.
Where is everyone finding the best place to sell their stuff?
Three of us live in a 2BR apartment. I've learned to just buy small amounts of supplies. Things I don't use go to the free table at the food pantry. Old books and

Love this video as I now feel free to purge stamps and dies that don't inspire me or I just don't like. Funny how something looks so cool when being demonstrated online but don't really fit in the way I like to make cards. I have several sets I haven't used yet so will put them first in my bin with a date. That way if I haven't used them, I can release guilt free. I've been on a stamp/die buying hold as I do feel I have to use what I have first. Sentiments are my weakness so I try to limit what I buy. Love your thought process during your purge.
We've all made mistakes in our wants -vs- needs. When certain companies have a release I have to take a hard look at can I do the same techniques they've done to make such a cute card? Do I WANT to spend that much time on a card or tag? We can get sucked in by marketing and we may not have the skills to do what was done then we get frustrated. It's hard when you really love a company and WANT the new "schtuff". Thanks for another great video. Congratulations on the new baby.

I am a craft hoarder. I have trouble purging, but I need to purge some stamps. I have a lot I don’t ever use. So you have inspired me to do this.

I had an organized room…I invented a scrapbook making tool and I got so busy with selling it, that it got crazy messy. Just going home from vacay tomorrow and I have to tackle that soon!
It's a hard thing to force yourself to purge!
I went thru 2 major purges in the past 2 years... one because the Heater broke and mold hit the house!!
The second time was by choice. But now I'm regretting some of the items I purged!!
I too have limited space, but it is spread between a bedroom and a laundry/ sewing room plus a hall closet for storage. The house is too chopped up and I wish it all was in one place!

I don't find it hard because I've done it so often and as I mentioned if you do it once a year or once every six months, it gets quicker over time. It's all about the mindset and getting yourself in the mood to do it. The feeling when I'm done is something I look forward to!

I'm now on a mission to make stuff up out of supplies that have been sitting around for years. Luckily, the hall closet was spared the mold infection. It is full of sterilite bins!
I definitely need to take a page out of your book! I just went through my embossing folders in my last video and found theres probably a good 15 I could keep and the rest could go (I love embossing folders and use them a ton)

Hi. Thank you for sharing this great video. I've saved it so that the next opportunity to do so I will literally be purging with you! I don't have anywhere near as many stamps as you had at the start of this video but my space is soooo very limited that I do need to get a grip and be honest with myself, examine just exactly what styles make me most happy, stop that ' just in case' hoarding mentality and just get on with it. Not easy when I come across something I haven't seen in ages and a whole host of ideas come flooding in as I'm looking at it. Congratulations on the baby..... So excited for you. A comment re stamps. When you are sorting out your stamps, you can always separate them out and keep some of a set but not all. I do this unless they belong to a stamp and die set. then I keep them together.
I'm a hoarder who is trying to heal and I'm decluttering gradually but I still have so much stuff!. I'm also a creative person who does several crafts and have cut back items so much. But I still have too much. I have a lot of yarn in the same weight. So I've decided to make some blankets. Because blankets are always useful in winter. That will keep me occupied and use up my unused stash.
I'm just starting out. could use some used stamps from people. 😄Willing to pay postage

I also want to make some room for one of your mystery boxes. Being German I can only buy American stamps used since the shipping from the U.S. and Canada is so expensive, so I‘m really thankful for the opportunity. The Pinkfresh stamp fits in the Tim Holtz stamping platform at an angle. I believe you can get the platform in Europe. But you’re right, it’s a weird design. I also had to cut the stamp set to make it fit in my storage pocket. Also, congrats!

@@justinehoveyit’s my understanding that you can use the outside cover of your MISTI door to stamp the large slimline stamps. I haven’t tried it yet but others say it works. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Do you still have your Newfie?

I am in the same boat. Moved from a house to a townhouse, less space.
Purging is so hard for me with my stamps because I have been stamping for 30+ years and many of my stamps are on wood and are not sets at all. I keep telling myself to go through the wooden stamps that are not sets first but the truth is because I have room for them I keep putting it off. However, I think even if you have the space for it, it can feel so overwhelming to have so much I think I need to start purging.

Still deciding what storage to get for my crafts! (one for paper craft stuff to put in my room and one for my resin stuff ... that can fit in the narrow space between the wall and the sink in my bathroom (since that is the only room that has an extraction fan and a window I can reach) haha) Been leaning towards a trolley similar to yours after watching the recent video though!

If it helps PinkFresh did a video that show how to use a regular Misti with the longer stamps.
You mentioned colored embossing powders - When I’m doing embossing, clear is the one I use. If the image or words need to be embossed in a color, I will stamp the image in the color I want then emboss it in clear. Works for me and keeps the costs down.
Yes definitely a good way to reduce powders and keep costs down. I did the same for years

Oooo ... I'd have loved to see the "overall stamp" you deemed too busy!! I've been looking for the one used by "some wonderful stamper" who used a "busy" stamp to remove ink from a smaller s o l i d stamp to get a fancy impression. That technique looked like the P E R F E C T way to produce a c.a.s. card!!

Thank you so much for this video! I need to purge but was stuck on how to get started. This video is helpful to me.
I take clear stamps and cut off parts I don't like so it's easy to trim down stamps that don't fit the Misti.
The issue is the die and stencil would then be useless because it’s meant to be done all at once
I keep my stamp and coordinating dies together, so if I purge the stamp the die is purged too.
