My wife and I saw Josh in 2011, it was a beautiful performance, she was so beautiful. When Josh sang this song she grabbed my hand, held it tight and smiled. I heard every word he sang but my eyes could not leave her beautiful face. I lost my wife in 2017, she was 46. When I hear this song today I can’t help but to remember the night that I held her hand and watched her smile to what is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Anna Liza, this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you. 💕... I’ll see you soon sweetheart, but not too soon. 💕

This song is pure genius as it captures the depths of agony a soul can feel, and redemption of pain through the gift of his art.
When I was on maternity leave with my daughter I danced every day to this song with her. She's going to be 18. Something I will never forget.
My uncle lives 1 block away from where Vincent passed away in small attic above a local restuarant and 2 blocks from the hospital where he was cared for when he cut off his ear. He gave his art to the hospital to pay for the bills. Today sits a plack on the restaurant where he died in 1890. Becuase I spent time where he lived and painted materpieces gives this song special meaning to me.
Such a lovely tribute to Vincent, "this world was never meant for someone as beautiful as you" ♡chills every time. Love the emotion in your voice, no one's got vibrato like you Josh.

OMG .... such a young looking Josh, 16 yrs ago -2004! LOVE this ballad.... and his version of it! Been listing to a lot of JG during isolation. In fact I recently purchased 2 cds (Bridges & Stages) to add to my collection.

A young man named Vincent took his own life this week at OTHS. My heart is breaking for his family. My mind went to this beautiful song that I have loved for years. God bless him and his family and friends.

Me too! Since 2002! The in November 2019 I had the chance of seeing him live at his concert In Pittsburgh. With Idina Menzel, who I have also loved since “Rent”. It was a dream come true. I love Josh! His CDs are all in my car, they are the only ones I listen too. They speak to my heart. ❤️

OK, so "Vincent" is my favorite pop song of all time, for its combination of both melody and lyrics -- beautiful, poignant, just a great story-telling song. And Josh Groban is also a huge favorite of mine; I have devoted hundreds of hours to listening to him sing. That said ... I've listened to his superb version of this song dozens of times over the years, and I wonder every single time if it bothers anyone else that he left out vital words in the last verse? He lets an instrumental interlude begin that verse, which is fine, but then, instead of singing the entire verse, he begins MID-SENTENCE with several measures of the words left out, and it doesn't make sense. The words are:
Starry, starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget.
He leaves out those first three lines, and then comes in on "... with eyes that watch the world and can't forget."
Drives me crazy, although I still love him and the nuanced deviations he makes from the original melody to make it his own.
He is a very good person and singer

Dear Josh sings it like he means it. It’s a bit cloying, but in the best possible way. I identified with this song when I was much younger. Years later, I realize this song binds us all together because we've all had those same feelings of being misunderstood and unappreciated. Thank you to the writer, Don McLean, for putting into words what I couldn’t express. Therein lies the importance of arts education: the arts enable the expression of ideas that cannot be expressed through mere language. (Or in my case, differential equations.) So while I'm thanking McLean for writing and Josh for bringing “Vincent” to a new generation, I'm adding my gratitude to Josh and everyone else who supports arts education. Ars gratia vitae!

Just had this song pop in my head and had to find it quickly to tame my stressed mind. Going to pop the DVD in later that its been a while since I played the full concert and miss having it play in the backgrounds of my life that help calm everything down.
