A wonderful movie like all others of Bob Steele's. Enjoyed watching it. All these old black and white Westerns are classics of the Cinema. They should be preserved

Love Bob Steele. His movies are always well-plotted and absorbing. A terrific western hero. After William Boyd he is my favorite.

These old movies have a candid honesty about them and a plot depth not seen in current films after 1950 - I can't believe how interested I became in listening to the interchanges between Bob Steele and the others, very fascinating and intriguing.

Bob Steele never disappoints. Great to see multi-talented Blanche Mehaffey and character actor Jack Rube Clifford aka Hard-of-hearing "Rube" was the inspiration for "Foghorn Leghorn."

I was curious, so I did a bit of investigating. Clifford's IMDb page agrees with you, but the Wikipedia page for Foghorn Leghorn tells a different story:
"Foghorn Leghorn was directly inspired by the character of Senator Claghorn, a blustery Southern politician played by Kenny Delmar on Fred Allen's popular 1940s radio show. Foghorn adopted many of Claghorn's catchphrases, such as 'I say..' and 'That's a joke, son!' Delmar's inspiration for Claghorn was a Texas rancher who was fond of saying this.
"According to Leonard Maltin, the character's voice was also patterned after a hard-of-hearing West Coast-only radio character from the 1930s, known simply as The Sheriff, on a radio program called 'Blue Monday Jamboree.' The accent has similarities to that of another Mel Blanc voice: Yosemite Sam (a strictly Friz Freleng character); and even more similar to a proto-Sam character in 'Stage Door Cartoon.'"

Bob Steele made many westerns during the 1930-"s and was a popular fixture in the old western genre with good cause.

This is another example of what these old westerns could do better than anyone - melodrama in the best sense, 'horse opera' when there's singing, and with many actors who earned their skills on the old, long gone Chatauqua circuits that laced much of the country for 50 years, ending suddenly around 1928. Thank you for posting this film!
