sorry for the late upload hopefully ill be back on track next week. Again thanks to my brother who helped edit these videos part link vtwin.parts/su...
I actually drilled a new hole for the peg to seat in. As for the kick stand that was jimmy riged back on. I actually got rid of that old kick stand and got a weld on one and relocated it
It’s not a suicide shift. There isn’t any such thing. Call it a foot clutch jockey shift. Years ago when bikes came with a foot clutch they’d call it a suicide clutch because the rocker pedal would come loose and disengage at a light shooting you into traffic.
ACKSHUALLY ☝🏼🤓 When you put the clutch lever on a shifter BAR, thats a suicide SHIFTER… in my opinion of course. Totally different than a foot clutch operation and much more difficult to maneuver with one hand lol.
actually the the hand shifter it self is very light and the antler is next to nothing. though its understandable to worry about the splines there were no damage to the splines.
the kit i should have link down in the description was for a evo softail so yes BUT it did take drilling cutting and welding to make it work and if your m8 also still uses ball and ramp to engage your clutch plates. best of luck and thanks for the question
Its not a suicide shift until you lose your front brake....no front brake, foot clutch, jockey shift....thats a suicide shift...yours is a jockey shift...
Great Video Bro… I rode over 20 years with a jockey shifter and foot clutch. You really get into the ride where you and the bike become ONE!
It's a whole new ride going jockey but in the Comox Valley its definently not for the faint of heart
Great video dude! The community needs more softail content
Agreed!
My Softail came from Harley Davidson with a 4 speed rotary top transmission.
Where did you find that foot peg mount? I'm having a bit of trouble finding one that sets the peg out far enough to clear the kickstand

You know that's good piece of trivia but at the end of the day call it what ever it's still cooool

So..
After 8 months of ahand shifter and all that weight hanging off of your shifter..
Is your splines and shift linkage now worn out ..??

Cool
Is this doable on a later Softail, m8?

I ain't going to split hairs with ye on that. But living in BC riding jockey having front breaks will save my clutch.
