Nike says its a sustainability switch, that's just a PR statement to lessen the blow of no more K-leather. The only reason is California is one of the biggest markets for football boots and K-leather boots are banned there, losing Nike millions (if not tens of millions) in football boot sales. They're a corporation, they make decisions to increase profit and it always comes to that. K-leather is actually sustainable as well, as Kangaroo's are considered pests and k-leather is merely a byproduct of population control. Don't believe the switch from a "sustainability" stand point, the Legend line suffers due to corporate greed
Hit the head on the nail. If anything, these synthetic products are causing MORE pollution in the long run. They should’ve just switched to cow/calf skin and left it alone.

I miss the legend 4 elite. You got the lock down from the fly wire system and the softness of kangaroo leather plus the sick carbon fiber sole plate. Nike just doesn’t hit the same 😔

One aspect of the leather (kangaroo or other) vs. synthetic debate that should be discussed more is the longevity. An acquaintance who played semi-pro said that he went through 2-3 pairs of synthetics a season, since they just aren't that durable compared to leather. I personally don't have enough experience to weigh in, but I think it's a fascinating topic that I wish was discussed more. Anyone have any experience?
I have mine for one and a quarter of a season and its living, besides that one boot started separating from its sole.

From someone that have plaid 14 years Pro in the 80's and 90's, nothing can beat genuine leather!
Leather is more durable, hands-down.
Leather is more durable, i played amateurs with 3x training a week for 20 years untill last season and when i leather outlives synthetic. Plus nothing matches the leather feeling
I mean I don’t mind too much that they don’t have leather anymore but at least call them a different name or something that feels new and keep the tiempo as the classics leather super boot it once was

I’m more worried about the heel which looks like the one on the Legend 8 Elite which gave me a huge blister.
I loved kanga lite which is not actually leather, so that if the softness is the same or better I don’t mind which material they will apply though 😅
So, the Elite is getting FlyTouch+, what upper material will the Pro and Academy versions use? A variation of FlyTouch or still calf leather?
My first tiempos were the legend 2s. Then I recently got the legend 9. Hopefully these live up to the good tiempo name
Leather vs Synthetic debate aside. I think these are objectively speaking a very good pair of boots. They look like an amalgamation of a Magista Opus 2v2 with a Phantom Venom and a Mercurial. As long as they fit me comfortably snug and have a great touch on the ball. Along with a decent responsive feel, then it’s all good from me. These aren’t a total must have, but I think I will pick up a pair further along. Mostly because the new Adidas X is right around the corner, and I am really interested in those.
Also are the Legend 10 takedowns gonna be synthetic as well? I would imagine them being so.

I was a super fan of the super light and aggressive football cleats when I was 20. However after I got some injury and getting a little bit "aged", I'm no longer playing that aggressive and felt in love with K-leather thick covered boots. I agree if you are an elite player you still need a lighter, thinner product but for people who just play it for fun and social, comfortable, thick, leather traditional cleats can always make you enjoy your game without too much unnecessary pain.
Im thinking of buying a tiempo. I'm considering buying the legend 9 but i dont know if the legend 10 is a better option. Any help?
Whats the protection like? I always loved Tiempos because it felt almost like armour on my feet. Gives me confidence to go into those tough tackles because of the protection the k-leather affords in comparison to something like the gripknit phantom gx or mercs.
Bro it doesn't really matter ahah. If u get stepped on, it always hurts. Mercs or Tiempo doesn't make a difference

Just pulled the trigger on some Nike Tiempo Legend 9's. Had to ship to another state first since I live in California. The move from K leather is incredibly disappointing. I'm inching towards my mid 30's so this could be the last boots I purchase before I "retire". I still have some Copa's in the closet.

Tried these out today and I noticed one thing that made me look away. Once I had them on I tried to kind of lean towards the outside of the foot and the cleat had no support on that area, made me feel like I could easily roll my ankle “lateral ankle sprain”. Definitely a deal breaker, tried the Phantom GX felt so much better and purchased. Just food for thought.

what is the best distance from the front of the boot to the big toe should you have a finger width between the toe and the boot with this K Leather or is best to have them fit snugly with a minimal gap between toe and front of boot?

Should I be worried about the lockdown in the Adidas Copa Pure +? Or does grip socks fix that problem if it is one?
good quality grip socks help massively but lockdown sometimes depends on person prefrences to be honest on things such as how you run/pivot
I get way way more blisters with grip socks in my superfly 9s, so it's not always the solution. Just my 2 cents.
Copa Pure.1 lockdown is very good
just got a pair of these with half a size more than the legend 9 and they feel alot more locked down then the legend 9 its almost like the mercurials for me extreme lockdown not much movement in the boot just something im not a fan of tbh
K leather doesn’t overstretch, it’s literally the strongest leather in the world. Also the breathability of leather is another advantage

These are awful compared to previous tiempos, mine lasted 4 matches and then the material started to split. Don’t feel as good quality either. If we’re not getting leather anymore, I am going to try some Diadoras or mizuhos

Would be difficult to make a video on perfecting slide tackling, as it comes down to experience, positioning and timing. Its not something that can be taught, you just have to learn from experience

R.I.P. Tiempo Legend. What an absolute fail. Trust me when I say it wasn’t for “sustainability” they did this. Certain markets outlawed k-leather. It’s purely about $$ for them. Would rather they made it out of a soft cow leather.

I am on the fence. I like leather, but I never wear leather boots anymore because I often play in damp conditions and it's more work to care for them afterwards vs a synthetic. However, leather for indoor court or indoor turf would be missed! And if sustainability is the reasoning, what will happen with other shoe lines? Will we be seeing Flytouch Jordan 1's or something??

strange that the upper doesn't feel as nice as k-leather. The CTR 360 3 kang-lite upper had some of the nicest leather feel around, weird they didn't just grab those.

The Maestri 3 for as good and impressive as it was never felt like the Legend 4 or 5. I just don’t believe they will ever make a synthetic as good as a natural animal skin.
