The first time we see dark magic used in mlp and another time in season 4 but we've never really seen dark magic again. Guess Hasbro thinks it was too dark for kids.
The music in the background with the demon scream once the magic is used is awesome.

She casually used dark magic to do what's essentially a hyped up presentation. She flexing.
That's why Celestia needs to protect the empire.
Celestia needs to have more of a major role in the story

The problem is that Celestia is the "wise old mentor" character. That's why she never has an active role in things. Since the story is focused on the next generation there really is no room in the show to focus on her backstory. That's the way I see things.
I bet King Sombra is Princess Celestia's real mentor and he taught her dark magic and she has always had Sombra's dark magic in her and Celestia is Darth Sidious of My Little Pony that should be a Season 7 episode
I bet Celestia has always had King Sombra's dark magic within her it's very possible that she and Luna were mentored by Sombra himself and both of them always had Sombra's dark magic

I think that is Sombra's magic or alicorn magic as in when Princess Celestia and Princess Luna went missing Twilight used that magic on Zecora's potion, which Zecora described as alicorn magic.

@@cyannbutler4100 yes they do in the comic celestia meet and au swap sombra who was good guy and she fell madly in love (not to the extreme) with that king sombra yes he eventually became evil but still had good in him so yes celestia's romantic interest is sombra if he was good.
Celestia knows to use dark magic but when sombra was good and he learnt dark magic he made a mistake and create a evil shadow soul which later corrupted into his body and made him evil.But why it doesn't happened with Celestia . Please reply me guys.
