      Thanks. For a few minutes I thought the title was misleading and I would have to listen to two men talk in a video about nuns.

      @@bossgirlm368 I am in a Situation that I can’t belong to A Community, because of Age, Health and Transportation. So only Third Order Carmelites, can be given Isolate Status, where They, don’t hafe to go to Community Meeting’s, for lagitamit Reason’s. Secular Carmelites or Discalced, don’t have Isolate Status. Only OCarm dose.

    Praise be Jesus Christ. Great job Friars‼️ I really enjoy your podcasts. I have been an ordained Catholic Priest since May 21, 1983.
    Along the way I was a Chaplain at a Carmelite Monastery and was there for four of our Sisters who went to meet the Bridegroom Jesus, most of them knew me since I was a child of three because my parents attended Mass at this Carmel. It was a true Sacrifice for Mother Celine to share publicly her Carmelite Soul.
    These Siblings of Our Blessed Mother died
    even to their Memories when they entered
    Carmel. Thank you, Mother Celine.

    I know I'm called to this type of prayer and a deeper relationship with Christ. I can't deny it. But some of the most difficult things for me able to be actually in the quiet especially after getting home from work and having to take care of my dogs. It's just so difficult and clearing my mind and to focus just on God. The other part is self-detaching from worldly things and giving my will up totally to God. I can spend a half hour to hour of metal prayer a day and mediation. I find it also difficult to actually speaking to Jesus like you described. But I know I do it. I go through such periods of aridity bit never give up. I know I make acts of the will in loving God but the lack of feeling does make it difficult too. But I do get a consolations every so often so I know I'm on the right path. Honestly, I do believe I'm also called for some sort of union with God maybe not transforming union bit something like that. But living in the secular world does makes it difficult bit I know people have done it.
    Also I do hope you do another Lenten and maybe Advent online weekly retreat/video series this year.

    This video has taught me a lot! I'm quite guilty of going through a sort of 'prayer schedule' each night and hopefully I'll find some success in moving from that!
    Please let me know, do you have to say your examination out loud? Physically saying prayers from the heart feels a bit weird and awkward to me so is it alright that I always just speak to Jesus inwardly?

    • @ICSPublications
      @ICSPublications Před 2 lety +2

      I'm glad you found it helpful, lily. Coming to prayer with some sort of a schedule is not necessarily a bad thing, just don't be inflexible with it. Allow the Holy Spirit lead your time of prayer!
      There's no need to say your examination out loud. Do whatever allows you to most freely speak to Jesus. God bless you!

      Hello, felix n lorenzo, It depends where you live. If you have a Discalced Carmelite monastery nearby, I would recommend reaching out to them. If not, it might be harder to find something reliable. I'll say a prayer that God leads you to the right director!

    I know we're not supposed to necessarily have feelings in prayer or at least we don't all the time but recently something happened in prayer that scared me. It upset me quite a bit because my heart felt totally cold.. Not hard but very cold. On other words I felt nothing. Partials blackness not totally dark. Was this a trick of the devil?
