A Bridge Too Far the grandest in scope war movie ever made with many of the greatest actors in their day.
Really? Men of honor but no Blackhawk down? Absurd. No platoon? No apocalypse now? No full metal jacket?
I haven't even heard the list yet...
But no Apocalypse Now or Full Metal Jacket? Pfffftttttt...
black hawk down is bs us propaganda
Totally agree. Also Men of Honor isn't a war film. Its military, but not war.
And I just thought. If they added it to be woke and inclusive. They could have gone with Red Tails. True story and also stars Cuba Gooding Jr. And that's actually a war film lol
Did you even watch the video? The they literally mentio Platoon, Blackhawk down and FMJ all in the outro. Lol
How the heck is Fury not near the top it’s gripping
Platoon has to be in any top 10. Masterpiece.
Great list!
We were soldiers
Yep!
Valid
Going to throw in a couple:
Bataan (1943 movie)
Gardens of Stone
To Hell and Back (The book is definitely better, but Audie Murphy played himself, even though he wanted Tony Curtis to play him.)
I find your choices interesting for sure, I'm 63 and grew up with some of the great war films that were fiction and nonfiction, and got to see some of those on a 70 mm wide screens or whatever it's called for the massive screens that used to be in theaters. The flag and Patton went almost around the whole entire theater. I would agree with your list except for one thing. I've seen the movie
COME AND SEE. Whether you put it in a war movie genre or a horror movie genre, still have to say that it is a true story. And the most horrifying war film I've ever experienced because that's what it is. It's an experience like apocalypse now. Only real.
13 hours, lone survivor, full metal jacket, where eagles dare, kelly’s heroes, platoon, saving private Ryan, hamburger hill, black hawk down my top 10 in no particular order
Kelly’s hero’s 😍
When I was a kid I used to watch either Kelly’s hero’s or the warriors basically every other day 😂😂 with the odd great escape thrown in
Dunkirk was ok, but when you see what films are missing it doesn’t deserve a place in top ten
Good list. Some oldies missing. I see your taste.
Is this a Series or movie .. where can I watch the rest of the video !!
Come and see should be on there
The longest day , two men went to war , apocalypse, list goes on
Hey!! WHERE EAGLES DARE.
That should be in there, somewhere.
forces speciale? instead of lone survivor?
Top 10 American hollywood productions of War movies in the last 20 years would have been more accurate. As a 1/2 Norwegian I would have Max Manus - Man of War and Ni Liv in there. My British half could go to town. Where Eagles Dare, Ice Cold in Alex, the Dambusters, Reach for the Sky, A bridge too far, Zulu, and for those afflicted with the Naval disease The Cruel Sea, Sink the Bismarck, Battle of the River Plate and a bunch more.
The Enemy Below. Gotta give that one to the Submariners.
enemy at the gates, stalingrad, iron cross, der untergang, captain madolini, Schindler's list, letters to iwo jima, pashendale, 1917, harrison flowers, killing fields, beast of no nation, the deer hunter, no mans land, warhorse, the longest day, memphis belle, band of brothers, pacific, now playing masters of air, mash, tora tora tora, midway, red tails, the Tuskegee airman, a smaal portion of modernized war films not to speak of ancient times like the patriot Gettysburg bravehart alexander the great, og about romans, or japanese or Chinese movies.
Something about The thin red line messes with my head. I get lost in it.
The odd angry shot.
Honourable mention: Jarhead
Anything Vietnam related left out. As much as attitudes seem to have changed, Vietnam is still not seen as a conflict that was honorable to the men who fought it. Which btw is wrong, the men who fought were honorable men.
Bridge over River Kwai
Beneath Hill 60......also a true story
😮no Hamburger hill😢
Gallipoli Peter Weir 1981
The Longest Day, A bridge to far, Where Eagles Dare ??
Apocalypse Now Redux.
Where’s?
Black Hawk Down
13 hours secret soldiers of Bingazi
Fury
#1. Is good. But also band of brothers & dirty dozen.
bravo two zero?
Dunkirk was horrendous and totally inaccurate
This is the most narrow minded attempt at a list
Platoon defiantly should have been top 4. What about Deer Hunter?
@spiro190 Deer Hunter is a war film, but not really action. For action and story, 12:00 High is epic.
No Blackhawk Down! Wtf
Were the Brits not involved in the war apart from Dunkirk? (This film was crap and so unrealistic; a Spitfire gliding so far after an engine failure? really??) What about The Dambusters, Battle of Britain, A Bridge Too Far, The Longest Day, the Cruel Sea, One of our Aircraft is Missing, Angels One Five, etc. etc.
Star Wars
What bollocks
What a bullshit list
saving private ryan could have been a great movie, but the cliches and scenes taken from other movies made it kind of insulting to watch, tom hanks & mat damon have made a lot of good movies but IMO they were not good in saving private ryan, maybe due to the producer trying to get every movie line from the past 50 years crammed into one movie?
.problem personal a like Sounds
Terrible list 👨🏿🦼
Trash list 😂😂😂
Bravo-two-zero with Sean Bean.its on CZcams.
The bit where Andy McNab eats shit off his fingers is alone worth the watch. 😅
A few war films from the elsewheres of the world (Not Hollywood)
Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence Beat Takeshi & David Bowie
Breaker Morant Edward Woodward & Bryan Brown (FX and Cocktail)
Danger Close:Battle of Long Tan Travis Fimmel (Vikings & Warcraft)
Chariots of Fire Ian Holm (Lord of the Rings)
The Lighthorsemen Peter Phelps (Baywatch)
Balibo: Oscar Isaac & Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace & Empire Records)
Beneath Hill60
No Blackhawk Down! Wtf
