Just came across your channel. Just tried my e 50mm 2.8 manual lens on my z8 . Better quality than some of the new lenses you get . I originally bought to do macro photos, really happy I can use it on my z8. Thanks for pointing me in this direction 👍🏻.

First video of yours that I have watched. I now subscribed and look forward to seeing all of the videos. I own 10 vintage lenses all of them Nikon. 6 of them AI and ais and 4 pre AI. My 2 favorite are the 105mm 2.5 pre AI and the 55mm 1.2 pre AI. I got the 55mm 1.2 for $200 and it is in perfect condition. I also love the 35 mm 2.0 pre AI lens. Happy New Year to you and your family 🎉

yeah I definitly need some vintage lenses, my lenses are way too good (if you know what I mean hahaha) its boring.
I have one full manual lense and it is sooo fun to use, idk its kinda my favorit atm. I spent my money on the wrong bracket of objectives hahaha

All the other reviewers say the Series E lenses are not well-built, but me, I agree with you. They may not be all-metal like Nikkor lenses but the build quality is still excellent, probably better than some of today's plastic cheapos. The 50mm 1.8 and 100mm 2.8 are well-regarded Series-E lenses. I highly recommend the 70-210mm f/4!
I have the 105mm 2.5 as well and to me it's better than many modern lenses.
I think you should be required viewing for anyone looking into getting into vintage lenses. Most reviewers evaluate vintage lenses by modern standards (i.e. sharpness, CA, vignette) which I think doesn't make sense. But you hit everything right on the nail!
May I recommend the 135mm (f/2.0 or f/2.8 both are excellent & almost indistinguishable; the f/3.5 is apparently also good).

Another thing I love about vintage Nikkors is that many of them have the same filter diamater of 52mm which means I only need one copy of a filter to share across lenses!

Hi, thanks for the video. Subscribed. I've recently got rid of my GH4 and got Z50 as my entry to Nikon ecosystem and for my upcoming trip, and while stills quality is exceptional, I'm a bit disapointed of the video, look like it's quite contrast and there's no good flat profiles when it comes to color grading. It even made me think not to go this route and get Fuji instead. But I think maybe in the future Z6 or ZF would fill the gaps for me as hybrid shooter. Also I'm hesitate if I should get Z 24-70 f.4 or old 24-120 VR with adapter for now. What do you think? Thank you.

      Thanks man, I appreciate it!
I made a video titled “Color Grading Nikon Footage” it’s a video from 8 months ago, check it out. It might help with setting the flat profile and doing the color corrections, that’s how I do it to this day on my videos.
      Thanks again!
