- Marc's friend Carl bought a 2021 CFMOTO CFORCE 1000 and he loves it but... He finds the ride too harsh and did not know how to ajust the fully ajustable suspension on his ATV. So, having a friend (Marc) that is a mechanic, guess what happened!
Marc explains what is spring preload, compression, rebound and how to ajust these settings.

Thanks for a great video for us ATV rookies! I will definitely play around with this to find my personal settings.
Thanks my men, just did that exact adjustement and I have to say, it is spot on! Good job. Keep making CF moto content!
Great video!
*What I had assumed, but I have only took 1 shock loose to base my measurement off the other. I will take the nut snug, then crank it down a tiny bit as you suggested. I have a Yamaha Raptor-Clone and obviously nothing was dialed in by the dealer.*
Great quad, but the wiring routing OMG the owner of the company should be furious any units were shipped out like that!
super informative. Thanks man!
Thanx man
Are the stock shocks rebuildable? Are they of a high quality that they would be worth sending them to a Suspension tuner? If so, that would be much more economical than buying a set of Elka's.
gracias
I have a 2020 ZForce 800 trail and I have tried many things to fix the ride. It's like a dump truck! My rear springs are as high as I think they will go(2.25 inch's from top) with the rebound all the way to fast then 2 clicks to slow side. Fronts rebound are the same for top and bottom. Spring is 1 inch front the top. I assume this is as soft as it will go, the ride is still harsh but seems better. Any thoughts? Seems like it has very little travel, even when I stand on the back it barley moves up and down.
Any advice on a setting for my 800 trail SxS?
What is the adjustment for compression and rebound for rear shocks, or did I miss that in the video? Great info!
Ya missed it...
Great Video, I ride most times with a passenger in rougher terrain would they need to be readjusted with the extra weight if so any recommendations on settings?
use the settings in the video thats exactly how i tuned it for my buddy and his wife
Is there anyway to take the whole spring off the shock?
Hello friend, thank you very much for the video, and I would like to ask a question, Where did you buy the windshield for the Cf1000? If you could share the information, I would appreciate it very much
A Canadian company called "vipair", look em up on the web.
Where did you get that cargo box
Great video. Can you help me with my 2003 Grizzly 660? The atv has alot of sway in the suspension. Cornering is almost scary. Is there a way to stiffen up the suspension on these so that the ride feels more stable. Thank you in advance!
elka suspension makes a set of shocks that will radically change the handling.
If those are full independent, stiffen just the rear
What happens when you did by accident or not knowing click it the full slow as mentioned. Do you need bring to dealers?
Also I seen some videos out there they do the full slow click and seems to be ok but again I don't know.
As long as it's not pissing oil by the seal you're ok. if youre at the last click you still have a tiny bit of flow and give but full tight passed the click, wont las very long.
@@PowerSportsQuebec and if it happened to tighten it fully and it hasn’t leaked yet, did I do damage to the seal so it won’t last very long in the future or it should be ok if it doesn’t leak now?😅😭
@@Crazy_ATV_rider Trust me, if you damaged the seals you would know...
@@PowerSportsQuebec one of them does after 180km of street riding but I replace it on warranty today because the atv is brand new, thanks a lot for the knowledge, I will redo the adjustment to the rest of the shocks
So compress the shock to stiffen the shock, and decompress to soften it?
well the shock inside of the spring is adjusted by the knobs on the bottom and on the reservoir. adjusting the actual spring to where he has it will soften the ride.
Absolutely the best how to video I have ever watched, It was exactly my problem and an accurate fix!!!! Thank You

what is the best setting for a big guy and a plump girlfriend??
its hard to say exactly but you will have to do some testing and see what works best. the factory settings on the springs seem to be good for me, 180 lbs usually riding alone, but they also did fine when i had a 200 lb passenger. i played around with the knobs and have never adjust the actual springs. my cforce 1000 rides pretty well where it is. i forget how many clicks i did from fully closed but you will just have to do some trial and error.
