  • Watch along as I move an original pump house from the oil field to my property and turn it into a working, period correct display. In this episode I finish moving and start erecting the structure.

    If you need it to last, I'd put some plastic and,stone on the ground under the wood floor. Keep moisture from wicking up the walls and the whole place will keep less moisture inside.

    A layer of paint make it looks like new. Regards a friend of restoration in Dalsbruk, Finland, mr Stig Österberg

    Nice find! Get the well capped the right way. So nobody gets hurt in the feature.

      No need to cap the well as it is still a producing well actively being pumped. Thank you for your concern though, it's still good advice!

    I noticed the tin sheets you are using have a lot more corrugating than we use in UK, also the background noises are just like noisy motorcycles. When you moved the pump was it actually pumping oil when videod 😅

      The side of my property that I have this shed on is close to a highway and you can hear road noise. Yes the pump was, and still is pumping oil.

    It would be nice if you had something for it pump. Even it it was a small tank under ground. For it to pump something up and ran back into the tank. Not sure how it can be done. Just a crazy thought.

      I have a couple ideas on how to make it pump with out having to drill a well. Check back on my page, I will surely post that process.

    Just curious, do you fill that with concrete? Just wondering what the machinery sits on.

    • @Cast_Iron_Curiosities
      @Cast_Iron_Curiosities  Před rokem

      Everything is just sitting on used railroad ties. If this was actually going to be pumped a concrete or steel foundation would be needed.

      @@Cast_Iron_Curiosities I saw the next videos, the wooden floor looked very adequate, and more period correct.
