Even your vlog is different from the other YT gurus'. It is REALLY interesting - something between a vlog and an actual documentary. I always say this when I comment on your videos but you really are on a league of your own, just brilliant! x
So true. Whenever I finish her uploads, I look at the YT suggestions on the right and the others look so cheap.
Even just basic makeup tutorials are so different. Lisa looks like herself at the end of each tutorial, just effortlessly gorgeous and enhanced. After watching nearly all of Lisa's looks, other tutorials here on YT just look like children playing with makeup!
Yes, you are right. And lessons on how to get the job done in a professional manner.
lizg0823 thats because youtube recently became more professional (in last two years), before that you literally had children playing with makeup. some turned their hobbies into profession based on popularity or skills, sometimes they had both of mentioned combined. couple years ago you couldnt find almost any pros on yt, especially of Lisas caliber. she sure is ahead of others because she started using platform way back when it wasnt popular among her colleagues, and it wasnt profitable (Charlotte Tilbury use it, for example, just to push her products). i dont know why people feel the need to compare pros, who are some of the best in the industry, with people who are amateurs. i think with experience a lot of people on yt that have talent can become quite amazing at doing makeup, because some of the best makeup artists are self taught.
I wouldn't really associate Lisa with the phrase "CZcams guru". Lisa has been a highly successful A-list celebrity makeup artist for decades, who's work can be admired on countless covers of Vogue as well as endless editorials. She's also held many high level positions at elite makeup houses (creative director, consultant, developer, etc). Thank god for us that she graces us with her presence and vast knowledge of makeup on CZcams. Frankly, she is on her own level! Queen Lisa! Lol!

Does anyone else think how loaded she must be?! CZcams, her book, stuff like this, Lancôme ... she works so hard!!! So well deserved!! I love how she does CZcams because she clearly doesn't need to but she goes that extra mile... an inspiring woman if there ever was one!!
and I feel she actually put thoughts and efforts into her vids. not just following trends for clicks I really appreciate that and watching her vids is like getting fresh air and I have learned so much from her
I dont think she take any revenue from her youtube (she stated that before) to keep it genuine thus we don't need to watch any ads - and even without youtube I'm sure she has been living a comfortable life with those years of experiences and list of clients!

This is an amazing vlog, I wanted to ask you long time ago how do you cope with stress?, you have busy schedules , working with celebrities , developing products , mixing colours and at the same time you are a mum and wife. I think you are an art director and that is for sure requires creativity so any advice?, I'm working on a creative project and it consumes all the time I have.

The reason why Lisa has always been my favourite makeup artist is the fact that although she's deeply involved in all this crazy glamorous high fashion lifestyle, she still seems to have managed to stay true to herself, and seems to be a really reasonable, humble and genuily nice good person!! I haven't been able to go abroad for 17 years now and I'd be interested in anything you can show us about time you spend in Japanese or Korean make up stores. I was just in Paris last month and it was fashion week (just coincidence, I wasn't there for it. I kept telling my brother that I hoped I would magically run into my favorite makeup artist and get to meet her, but alas, I did not see you :-) Loved the vlog though because now I can recognize a lot of places!

So it's safe to say that I severely underestimated the prep that goes into high fashion. For some reason, I had an image of Lisa just walking backstage at shows, putting the makeup on, and the makeup being fabulous. I had no idea so much prep work goes into just the makeup.
Those statement looks are so great! Would love to hear your process/thinking in creating them. And maybe... could you please do a tutorial on that glitter look? :)
