- They performed two of their hits on the show Fashionably Loud in the mid-90s. Second song starts at 6:44. These guys are f****ing geniuses. This is hard to do! Try it sometime. I did.

This. This is what got me into DJing back when I was in middle school. This was in '96/97. My dad calling me into the living room saying "Check this out! 2 Guys making all this music with just synthesizers!." I was 11 years old. And it blew my fucking mind. He took me later that summer to see them live in Austin. Nitrous Oxide Tour. I was floored. That birthday my dad gifted me my first pair of turntables and mixer before 7th grade. Never looked back. Thank you for posting this video! It means the world to me!
pinned!
This was pretty fresh. Back when MTV still played music. These guys’ swag was always on another level.
its crazy how something so mainstream back then almost seems radical to the pop culture of today.
cant believe this is a 10 year olld comment
Thanks for sharing, I remember seeing this on MTV in those years, every so often I come back to remember good times.
Yeah, it was a classic show at its time, which everyone I knew liked. I was surprised it wasn't already on YT. I looked around for it and then thought I better put my old tape to good use.
@@DexterHaven thank you for sharing this contribution to the internet 😊 🙏 🥰. I saw this when it aired. Sooo good! I happened to see The Crystal Method last night & was looking for some epic performances. 😎
@@Angelshymn1 You are welcome. Glad you found it. I wish I saw Crystal Method when I had the chance in Las Vegas in the 90's when they played at The Metz on the strip many times. Never got around to it, tho.
@@Angelshymn1 Someone should copy this in case my channel gets shut down for saying the wrong thing some day. You know how CZcams is getting.
Glad you found it. I saw it was not on CZcams yet, but this performance of Fashionably Loud on MTV was a big hit in the mid-90's. This is the charm of CZcams. It can bring something on a videocassette in someone's basement to light for anyone interested. This was also shot well by the cameraman, I think, and edited well, for effect, to the songs. These models may have been better than today's too and notice how short some dresses are. Wow!
Old school, the best school.
Still one of the best live performances I have ever seen on MTV!
Yeah, this show got some buzz at the time. Didn't think it would make it to CZcams, though. But CZcams is full of surprises.
@@DexterHaven you a bit of troll on it this posting. This video gets posted from time to time. So do tell _tv of so jerkoff with an executive title might have it pulled. Fatboy Slim's set was good that show as well.
You say, "you a bit of troll on it this posting."
Where is the evidence for that?
>"This video gets posted from time to time."
When? I haven't seen it elsewhere.
> "So do tell _tv of so jerkoff with an executive title might have it pulled."
That makes no sense -- and you were the one who first spelled out "MTV," not me.
@@DexterHaven i am talking about your numerous posting in the comments section and what you say in your comments, it is troll like. If you have not seen other people post this video that is on you. It has been posted repeatedly for years and removed on more than one occasion. I know because I have had under my favorites more than once only to see it removed.
Gracias por publicar esta Joya !!! gracias a este show hace 24 años conocí a estos dos monstruos del genero, quede completamente enganchado con su música!! ojalá vuelvan ha reencontrarse, seria un sueño verlos en vivo!!
Thank you for posting this Jewel !!! thanks to this show 24 years ago I met these two monsters of the genre, I was completely hooked on their music !! I hope they return to meet again, it would be a dream come true to see them live !!
90s was great !
A fashion show and The Crystal Method, what more could you ask for? I am hard and dancing to the kick ass beats of The Method. LOL!! Everyone is having a good time...
wow! im totally flashed! remembering this epic show watchin on tv in the 90ies. never knew or heard from the crystal method before this show& i guess this was the (busy) time for them 2 get really big& popular! so mindblowing after all these years...
@05.00 when the synth planar sets in....goosebumps, baby!
I like the mood shift when he plays that synth chord at 7:25 too.
@@DexterHaven oooh!!! Man I FINALLY Found it, I recorded this show actually, but my VHS tape was ruined... here you will find Valeria Mazza (4:36), and a young Ivanka trump (6:19 at the stage gate), both performance busy child and keep hope alive (vegas) ...flawless... I am agree with you both, this performance was epic and unique by that time..... Thanks for sharing
@@mafriend4176 Thanks for ID'ing those two models. Yeah, a few of us taped this and showed it around back then. It had a hypnotic vibe. My friend played it at the store he worked at ,and the customers stopped and watched it.
@@mafriend4176 "9 May 1998, Mazza married businessman Alejandro Gravier in the Basilica of the Blessed Sacrament in Retiro, Buenos Aires; the wedding reception was held at the Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo with 1,500 guests. The couple has four children: Balthazar (b. 1999), Tiziano (b. 2002), Benicio (b. 2005), and Taína (b. 2008). They reside in Buenos Aires. The couple owns , a countryside vacation property in La Barra, near Punta del Este, Uruguay, where they hold an important party with renowned guests every summer. In 2008, she and her husband were under investigation by Argentina's Revenue Service, AFIP, for alleged tax evasion to the tune of two million US dollars.
A lot of these ladies did a great job
True Inventors of the Game. No laptops here!
The band really kicks ass! For me it`s twelve minutes of laughs and good vibes. I must say it was the most positive video of the month for me. The song is very familiar to me too. I purchased the album (Vegas) several years ago and this is the very first time I see those guys. The status of the band is really rising in my eyes! And what about those lovely and amazing girls...:) I wish all the tv programmes would be something like that. **Laughs** Thanks!
This was and still is quite awesome. I play more traditional band setups, guitar, bass, drums, etc. Always admired guys with synths pulling this off live.
Other observation. NO one comments on the models or fashions which arguably was supposed to be the point of the show. The bands just stole it completely.
Yeah, most models at fashion shows look like they just sucked on a lemon, seem stuck themselves, no fun, and seem like they'd rather be doing something else, anyway. The way the songs are layered and lead to min-crescendos is good songwriting too, I think.
Never thought I'd see something like this, but Crystal Method at a fashion show works really well.
Not their true environment, but since I'm sure they got paid well, more power to them.
This is so cool
Love these gorgeous ladies 😍😍😍😍😍💕💕💖💖💕💕❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜❤️❤️❤️
Years back I purchased a VHS tape containing an almost full version of this MTV show and several Gap ads and public service spots using Busy Child. I found the tape on ebay from Outhouse records.
+Martin Buitron Interesting. I showed a tape of this to my friend who worked at a video store in the '90s, and he played it at his work; many customers gathered to watch it, he said. It has broad appeal.
yeah, this made my day, crystal method and prodigy were in the same show
There music is perfect for fashion shows 😉
Saw them live last night, kick ass show!
all th ebest things in the world in one place God what a crazy time
Project runway take note !
Good point about the models. Most of the models were very sexy. I feel the whole atmosphere was so ultrasexy like from another planet or something. Enjoying that kind of stuff is one of the best thing when you`re still very much alive. :) Would be hard to describe the action on stage for someone by a thousand words. You, the models and Crystal Method really made my day!
compañero se agrace tu compartida .
To this day, models still talk about the only two fashon shows ever (Prodigy and Crystal Method), where coke was not allowed.
"shows ever" makes no sense there. What are you saying exactly?
@@DexterHaven Sorry mate, made a typo. Was typing this late after work.
🔥🕺
It was in 1997 that Models Fashion Shows MTV
👍
The importance of beauty sleep.
They only got to do 2 songs? I swear the other bands did at least a 4-song set.
10:13 🥁
Thanks You Tube!...
Builds to a nice techno crescendo after 9:10.
MTV Fashionably Loud.....the year before they had The Prodigy and Republica.
Now you are 'dating' yourself, old timer. ;)
And pitch shifter?
loco te pasaste lo tengo en vhs mi cinta se ve mal tu
4:35 Valeria Mazza, modelo argentina.
Argentina has good models. Look at MY photo icon closely. See if you recognize her.
@@DexterHaven honestly, i dont recognize her. I dont know much about fashion world. I just recognize Valeria Mazza in the video because she was a Top model in the 90s and she is still famous in Argentina today.
@@hombrecabeza I found her: "Mica Arganarez has been variously referred to as 2017 breakout model and has since become a runway staple.
Signed after sending a Polaroid to boutique Buenos Aires agency LO, the rising star was soon referred to international agency Viva. She has since featured on the cover of Vogue Japan and Vogue Brasil, Harper's Bazaar Argentina, Elle France Elle Argentina, and her stock continues to go up. She has opened and closed a myriad shows from Miu Miu to Margiela, and has walked for Valentino, Givenchy, Celine. Instantly recognisable for her shaggy fringe and strong jawline, Arganarez is in demand."
She's the one I use in my photo icon.
@@DexterHaven I didnt know about her . Sorry
WHEN RAINING THE MDMA PILLS ?
Press 6 while it plays and check out what follows.
Yeah, this is what CZcams is good for, I think, to wonder if that cool show from years ago, like the first "The Happy Days Reunion" from around 1991, is on CZcams now. And then finding it.
What synthesizers and sequencers did they use for this show?
Looks like these, which was standard for them then: Clavia Nord Lead 2 Synthesizer. Synthesizers. ...
Dave Smith Instruments Tempest. Drum Machines. ...
ARP 1623 Sequencer. Audio Sequencers. ...
Ableton Live. ...
Moog Little Phatty Stage II. ...
Moog Slim Phatty. ...
ARP 2600. ...
Oxford Synthesiser Company OSCar Synthesizer, etc.
@@DexterHaven thank you. Some gear you mention came years after this performance. Nord Lead 2 1997, DSI Tempest 2012, ARP 1623 1978, Ableton Live 2002, Moog Phatty 2006, ARP 2600 1973 etc
What about what they are using at this show in video?
@@miekwavesoundlab OK, not sure when they used it. But here is a guide to their gear list; maybe you can find it: equipboard.com/pros/the-crystal-method
@@DexterHaven ya that list looks incomplete or inaccurate
7:46 that camera zoom-in is money.
I guess I didn't know (x ever)
What designer
Eastern Europe, is here
Well, it's about time you got here. Welcome to the fashion show. ;) This doubles as a home-workout video, I think.
They make computer software now that will redigitize these to high definition.
Somebody needs to write a worm that just sends the software throughout the internet we digitizing videos so they don't look like they're recorded with a potato
press 6; cool part after then.
This is straight out of ZooLander!
nailed it lol
True ravers...
1:15 check out the camera work and chop edits in this!
Forza Motorsport 2!!!
The funny thing is that the song is on a tape, so they keyboards might as well not be plugged in, yet they put on a show with them anyway...
6:13 she knows how to look at a camera, unlike the other stuck-up, druggie zombies.
lmao these women are probably 80 years old by now.
try maths plz and calculate proper.
The only downer is the attitude of the girls -- snotty, cold, put-out just to be there. A real turn-off.
