This lessons are just amazing. People take farming / agribusiness as a walk in the park but listening to Willie makes one think twice

Willie Keya is oozing with wisdom and it's my wish that every farmer listens to this before beginning their dairy journey. One thing that has been elusive throughout the whole session is the feeding part. What feed should be used for optimal milk production? We know of dry matter and the quantity but not what? Should it be a mixture of silage (maize + napier) + sweet potato vines? At what time should concentrates be introduced? Do you mix concentrates with the feeds or do you give them while you're milking alone?

For exact feeds that will depend on your locality. We may ask you to feed nappier but it’s not available so that may frustrate a farmer. Once you get the basics on energy, proteins, vitamins and minerals, fiber and water then the rest will follow. The Napier’s, silage etc are a good source of energy
