I didn't even know that hobby crafting concrete was a thing, definitely trying this might be good for terrain too, genuine concrete tank traps anyone? Amazon here I come! Thank you you little star!

Great video! It's funny, in this hobby we often spend a lot of time trying to recreate real world textures in Miniature scale, this is a good reminder that sometimes the easiest way to do that is to literally just use the thing we're trying to copy

Excellent idea. I originally always did stone and concrete bases using plaster or cork

I bought some dental plaster to do similar to this a while back. But I never thought about sticking plastic rod and half domes down in the mold for patterning!
Excellent video, thank you for sharing and take care :)

Your channel was just recommended to me, so I thought I'd check it out. Fantastic video you've got here- I would've never thought of using actual concrete for concrete bases. Such an obvious choice, it makes you mad you didn't come up with it yourself. Amazing results, to say the least; really love the rebar, as it sells the whole look. Hope to see some more out of you, as there's some tremendous talent on display here. Glad to be a new subscriber, and have a great week.

fascinating, I've been using some basic drydex for this kind of thing but i like the effect you get. I'm going to have to change the way I think about working with it

have you tried dropping one on the ground to see how strong they are? My biggest fear with these is damage on transport.

  • @jackmcfadden-finlayson372

How heavy do these bases and mini's end up being?

As I just saw your two first videos in a row, soI will make the same comment (more or less) as I did on the first one : really love your bases ! It is so cool to see such evocative urban rubble bases compared to those ulimately borring grassy/earthy bases and their unimaginative tufts of grass that does evoke nothing but boredom that we usualy see (and yes I use twice "boring" in the same sentence just because I can't stand anymore those bases).
Imo, concrete rubbles make the best evocative bases for 40K figures. I did the same a few months ago, but yours go further (with the incorporation of copper wires). Great advices here!
