    Well u can see that Berdych was playing very aggressive tennis throughout the match, even serving for the match of Djokovic at 5-3. I don’t think Djokovic choked that much, just the level of tennis produced by berdych was mind-blowing

    This is Rome 2013. At this time, he sometimes lacks consistency, compared to 2015 and later.
    Again, at Wimbledon 2014, he led Federer 5-2 but lost 5-7 in that 4th set. Fortunately,he managed to win the match.

      I disagree. Just watching the matches, this was Novak’s clay court peak. His defense was ridiculous. I just think he was playing stronger competition, especially on clay. You had big hitters like Berdych, Soderling, Delpo who can take the racket out of your hand, guys like Wawrinka who can crush you off both wings, and then Nadal himself was a force that prevented Djokovic from winning any RG titles despite playing a really high level.

    • @Chris-xc4rv
      @Chris-xc4rv Před 2 měsíci

      This one was pretty freaky too, it needs more exposure. In fact moreso, since this one is a 3 set match. There's always a greater chance of turning around a 5 set match. A point here or there , then you just have to outlast them.

      @@Chris-xc4rv Coming back vs Djokovic in any set format is impressive.But in best of 3,you can get lucky with a couple points and boom,the comeback is complete. But doing it in best of 5 is a different mountain to climb.That's why you'll never find such comebacks against Nole in slams.They are a different gravy altogether.

    Djokovic had beaten Nadal in the 2013 Monte Carlo final, he would have played against Nadal in the 2013 Rome SF had he won this match vs Berdych
    Strange things happen as Djokovic rarely loses a match when he's pretty much 2 points away from potentially winning a match...
    Djokovic probably just tensed up for whatever reason and Berdych just loosened up and he was always dangerous when his huge shots went in
    I think maybe Djokovic didn't want to face Nadal in Rome in 2013 in order to maintain the mental edge he had after snapping Nadal's winning streak in Monte Carlo - made no difference when Djokovic played Nadal in 2013 French Open semis because Nadal is Nadal at the French Open

    • @thebrave354
      @thebrave354 Před 2 měsíci

      Actually it did make a huge difference that year as Nadal was only few points away from losing to Djokovic in RG 13 and yes I also agree that Djokovic probably deliberately threw this match away for psychological advantage against Nadal.
