Hi Ken Steering is standard. Box was carefully re-built. 3 deg neg camber and 3 deg castor helps stability. Still a little vague around the straight ahead but not so noticeable once it is up to speed.
So car looks and sounds great, has rally history , and they're not too expensive to purchase...Yes, a Volvo 122S sounds like a good first classic car purchase.
Any special tricks done to the steering gear and or linkages to make an Amazon handle like this? M 122 steering is so vague around center.... Beautifully done car, a true inspiration.
My dad was the oldest Volvo dealer in country when I was young I had 122 p1800 544 164 and 262 c glass he died 1985 to young 16 at time long story but growing up was fun

There's also some footage from last year's event here (Targa Tasmania 2013: Volvo 122S - Pure sound ) with slightly better sound: this year we had a high rev' ignition problem we're still trying to sort (valve springs, igtion, etc). This limited us to about 6,300 rpm. For a view from the other side of the 'screen search WorksVolvo, cheers, AY

Is that the original B18 or perhaps a B23?
Not sure but you can hear the sidedraft su carbs whistling
Its a B18 bored out to 1954cc (class Limit) with 45 webers, head work, etc, 195hp
